  1. Who pissed in your cornflakes today? You're just arguing for the sake of arguing on like, the last ten posts.
  2. That sounds like a jail simulator.
  3. That's what I was saying. And you cant get any feedback past them because they're so militant about the issue. A romance or any other affection for a virtual character is notoriously difficult to pull off, and more often then not comes of as feeling forced. Just like the romances in Mass Effect, KOTOR and even Jade Empire. The key, I think to a convincing romance is passage of time, and time is something recent Bioware games do not have. Epic storylines are crammed in 15 hours of gameplay, the PC is swamped by rapid changes of events and on top of all of that a romance is supposed to foster. Torment avoided this issue wisely by only starting the romance and letting the plot explain why they wont be possible. It added another layer of RP, and sadness for the fate of the Nameless one and that was it. It served the plot as much as it could. I dont know how Mass Effect 2 will resolve the issue of the first one. A fully blown romance with next to no background or depth is how the story finished. If they are continued they would really need get fleshed out. if they are not, it makes them even more pointless than they were originally.

  5. I think he means M/M romance.
  6. Its beyond irritating. Also, saying anything against them is a recipe to get buried under a ton of bricks. Not only that but any sort of harsher criticism on Bioware's recent games get spammed and locked up. With that sort of feedback its no wonder their games are getting worse and worse.
  7. Unacceptable. A damn shame, that's one MMO I would have at least tried out.
  8. Will this be a standard monthly subscription/payment MMORPG or Guild Wars style - pay once , play as much as you like?
  9. So much discussion for 3 minutes of gameplay.
  10. I think its a not a case of recycling but a deliberate nod to Baldurs Gate fans. I was very happy to see Leliana Imoen.
  11. Mhm the sword under the arm thing. It does look better than the usual "whack em till they die" animations.
  12. Imoen sounds much better in this clip. Dunno why they just didnt get the old voice actor when they are making such an obvious nod to BG.
  13. I should add undead to my character template to avoid these situations.
  14. I'll agree that everyone's definition of good is different. The Seven Samurai is one of the greatest films ever made. The Seven Samurai (with romance!) is something any game, book, or movie could proudly aspire to. On the other hand, I don't understand why you're satisfied with BG. Every game BioWare has made since then has been better than BG. Seven Samurai is a great movie, but what I meant was worn out premise of gathering a bunch of unlikely characters in a group and having them save the world etc etc. This doesnt mean that a party should be lacking, merely that it should have some goal other than saving the world. I think what ruined the whole idea for me was that party members in latter games were practically unnecessary in combat (read: useless), and I always felt I was dragging them along for story purposes. When I say BGm I either mean BG II or the series as a whole. The first game was good but it has obviously been far improved in the sequel. If that's what you mean I (almost) agree with you. However none of the games Bioware made after BG II have been better than it, and nothing can even compete with the series as a whole.
  15. I think people just want to play a good RPG. The definition of good is where everything falls apart. Some are satisfied with just another Bioware "seven samurai save the world (with romaces!)" game. I want to see something better, because playing the same game for the fifth time has gotten old. Plus if it promises to be a BG spiritual sequel it has to be better.
  16. You people are straying too far from Dragon Age bashing. We are not amused.
  17. Pretty but pointless.
  18. What I would like to see is Obsidian making a game based on the PnP World of Darkness - Mage: The Awakening. If it were up to me, it would feature the cinematic and branching story they are trying to make in alpha protocol, but the gameplay would be equal parts combat and problem solving with Mages complex magic system. It would be a third person game, with pause/real time combat and it would be party based (though a small party, like 3 characters at one time, so as not to burden the engine), and hub based. The magic system in the game would be unique and try to emulate the one in PnP which to summarize it - allows the player to do anything with an aspect of reality (Forces, Matter, Spirit, Death, Life, Mind, Time etc), if the PC has reached a certain level. It would be extremely challenging to implement (as it would enormously affect the game environment) because the possibilities are limitless ... but not wholly impossible.
  19. My modest collection of PC games. Maximum Underworld is Max Payne + Mafia
  20. Deleted, pic too big
  21. What were the cards for?
  22. Apparently I'm the only one who hasn't seen the violence trailer: up till now. Err, frankly, what were they trying to do with this?
