Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2
R6 V2 is absolutely nothing like the first Rainbow 6 but that is to be expected by consolification. While its a shame that such a unique game has been rendered into a fairly generic "tactical" shooter that doesnt change it actually being enjoyable. So yes, its a good enough game to be worth 10 $ if you are into shooters and arent to fussed about it not being a complete simulation.

GTA4 for PC Buggy mess
Had you followed a bit of gaming news you would have known already that the PC port of GTA 4 is a disaster of almost unrivaled proportions. This shouldnt come as news and it is not indicative of PC or even PC ports as a whole.

Is Metal Gear Solid 4 any good?
I never played any of the previous titles but i quite liked MGS4. Sure the cutscenes drag out endlessly but when you actually get to play it is a very good game.

Left 4 Dead
Dont listen to the boring people. Its not a game without its flaws but if you have friends to play with (and this is important, the game is massively better on voice comm or LAN with friends) then it is an absolute must. I spent the last weekend with 3 friends on a LAN playing nothing but L4D and it was the most fun I have had playing a game for years.

Games with good atmosphere
Tie Fighter is a lot earlier but the space sim that holds up best today is proabably Freespace 2. On a completely different note. If you like Co-op then right now you cant go wrong with Left 4 Dead. Its a wonderfully realised game that fully plays on the campy nature of zombie flicks.

King's Bountyyyy
Im playing the full game (bought it from gamersgate) and its quite excellent. You really do have to enjoy the turn based combat from the Heroes of Might and Magic series to appreciate it though.

Nasty Diablo! Is a fairy tale they say...
I dont like automatic stat assigning... That is just going to make hardcore play more frustrating (without being able to dump loads of point into stamina to compenstate for lag)

Stracraft 2 is now three games
Normally things like this might make me upset. But this is Blizzard and they can have my money any day of the week. Ill gladly fork over any kind of money for the quality of their products. Oh and it is obviously going to be a staggered launch. In the interview they said that the reason they are making 3 games is trying to fit it all into one game would delay the release by several years.

The Witcher Enhanced Edition is out!!!
I never played the witcher when it came out so I bought it a few weeks ago in anticipation of this relase. However for now im waiting until some faster mirror is able to provide it as it is slow as molasses from the official source.

The Black Hound FAQ
It makes people remember about the project if nothing else. Sometimes its hard to keep something in mind between first exposure and release several years later if there is nothing inbetween to grab your attention.

Rumor: MS plans to shut down Ensemble Studios?
It doesnt make any sense to me though. I mean the previous studios that microsoft shut down werent putting out financial successes, but as far as I know Ensamble were. Why shut down a studio that makes money? Or am I missing something.

Cardinal sins of game design
Lets stay on the topic of cardinal sins shall we. This is mildly irritating but hardly something that you would quit a game over regardless of all other considerations.

EA Sticking With SecuROM
Trojans in cracks happen but it is pretty rare. Usually it is the big release groups who put out the cracks and they dont want to loose their reputation by having a crack containing a trojan or virus.

Creationist Site Targets Spore
So is gravity, the germ theory of disease and so on.
-
Creationist Site Targets Spore
Considering Spore is more of an Intelligent Design (or "really ****ing stupid **** "as it is also known by) simulator than an evolution sim, makes me think this is probably a hoax. And the large hadron colliders primary mission is to find the higgs particule.

EA Sticking With SecuROM
Hmm, true that. I hadnt really considered the situation for mass effect.

Cardinal sins of game design
Not allowing the player to change the method of input. Examples for PCs is being unable to rebind the movement keys in an FPS or change invert mouse.

EA Sticking With SecuROM
It should be. The problem is that finding a crack could be difficult without downloading the entire game. Since the game doesn't need the cd to play after it's installed, sites that usually post cracks for backup purposes aren't doing that. Cracks are more readily avaliable than warez are because they arent illegal and as such can be placed on websites. Thus you dont need to torrent anything. You should never have to warez a game to get the crack for it.

EA Sticking With SecuROM
SecuRom is a "copy-protection" suite. Alot of games use it but the vast majority dont use the limited installs feature.

Total War Series.
I intend to start playing Europa Barborum today and Im wondering which difficulty settings I should use. I play vanilla RTW and M2TW on VH/VH but as mods often change the difficulty of the game should I select another setting for EB?

Spore!
That coupled with the fact that ubisoft are still boycotting ziff should make it obvious that it was an honest review.
-
Spore!
I have been hesitant about spore for a long time. From all the previews it never seemed like there was a game in there. That said I want to keep an open mind, but if this is a game that is only really enjoyed by people who like The Sims then I sure want to stay as far away from it that I possibly can.

Best 5 MMORPG's
Having a thread about naming your top 5 mmos is laughably stupid. Why? Because most people havent even played 5 mmos! Even if you have, chances are you havent played them thorougly and I personally wouldnt take anyones oppinion of for example WoW unless they had played for at least a hundred hours or so (dont ask me how many hours ive spent, just dont). FF XI sounds like a great MMORPG for koreans, they are crazy that way.

What do you look for in an RPG?
The by far most important thing is that I want to care about the character(s) I play. Secondary concerns are story (although this has a large impact on #1) and good gameplay (in a isometric IE game that means good tactical combat, in a game like ME that means good shooter parts). *edit* I do agree that choices and concequences need to be at the heart of the game for it to be able to be classified as an RPG. Otherwise it is an adventure game.

Total War Series.
I havent played Rome or Medieval 2 in a while so im not up to date on the mods but I do know one thing. If you want to play any of these games without using a total conversion or scenario changing mod, you have to get some form of mod that makes the AI better. Without mods total war is stupidly easy. From what I remember the mods dont actually change the AI scripts but they supply the AI with enough stuff that they actually end up doing things.
