  1. The one game I am iffy on that doesn't have a demo, at least I haven't heard of it being done, is Fallout 3. I like Fallout 1 and 2, but from all the videos, while they look good, shows a wildly different game than Fallout 1 and 2. I would like to get my hands on a demo of that game prior of me spending money on it.
  2. We have done so well in the US with Christian Conservatives in power. OH YES WE HAVE! *takes a good look at Bush* Christian Conservatives are stuck in 19th and 20th century mode of thinking. Sorry, but it is true. This is the 21st century and we need 21st century leadership. We need forward thinking people, progressives, in power, not those who use antiquated beliefs and traditions to influence national and state level policy. I don't mind fiscal conservatism. In fact I am all for it. However social conservatism needs to go the way of Jimmy Hoffa.
  3. That is why I am leaning more and more towards the console gaming over PC. XBox 360 actually has demos that one can download and play. You can get the feel of the game through the demo and get a feel of the publishers' style as well. Not every game has a demo of course but the more there are available the better. There are very few game companies I would buy blindly from, secure enough in their quality of work without the need of a demo or trying it out so I rely on trying games out and demos so that I can make a informed purchase. I am not going to spend $50 to $60 on a game from a developer/publisher I don't know or trust their quality til I try it out, kick the tires, and taken a test drive.
  4. No, it is not for "free." If I do not like the game I uninstall and delete it. If I do like the game I buy it.
  5. The sheer level of hubris in that man is just astounding. The same can be said about the Republican party. God this, God that. Whatever.
  6. "Explicit means explicit." Funny, she still did not define what she considers "explicit." No exact details. "Explicit means explicit." What exactly does "explicit" means to a woman who is an ultra conservative Christian who states that it is "God's plan" for our soldiers to fight in the Middle East? Details. Also, when did George W. Bush become god?
  7. Well, I buy only games I like and the only way I know I will like them or not is to try them out first or buy from only trusted developers who I know makes games I like. If there is no demo, then guess the alternative. However, if the developers and publishers consistently makes games I like to play and I trust them to make games I want to play then I wouldn't need to "try" before I buy. It has nothing to do about being cheap or lazy. Its about being frugal and making an informed purchase.
  8. I think it is a good plan. It allows her to make up her own mind instead of having things dictated to her. I commend you.
  9. If they spent money n making a game worth buying instead of using a worthless copy protection scheme maybe people would put forth the effort of buying the game instead of pirating it.
  10. I know there have been a lot of discussion back and forth on politics, some of it has been good fruitful discussions while others have been a load of meaningless drivel. So, I say lets forget about the Bush administration, about "experience," and who is pregnant and who isn't. Lets go issue by issue of Barack Obama and John McCain. This material is coming from CNN so take that bias in account. Source: http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/issues/issues.abortion.html Abortion: Definite a hot topic and something that both sides of the line feel very strongly for. On this issue, I am siding with Obama. Obama: 1 McCain: 0 Afganistan: Both McCain and Obama has similar stances on what to do with Afganistan and both would work for me so they both earn a point here. Obama: 2 McCain: 1 Cuba: Both have solid plans but I have to side with Obama. Isolating regimes will not make them friendly to change for the better, it will only ostracize them and force them to be even more against what you want to see done in terms of reform. As the old saying you catch more flies with honey than vinegar. Obama: 3 McCain: 1 Economy: Again I have to agree with Obama. Trickle down economics did not work with Reagon and will not work now. Trying to do the same thing over and over again, and expecting different results is indeed insane. Just ask Einstein. Obama: 4 McCain: 1 Education: As Obama has pointed out that the No Child Left Behind laws ahve a noble goal but it has failed. The law is flawed and needs to be fixed. McCain also has some good ideas here that I like, specifically expanding the Enhancing Education Through Technology Program. They both earn a point here. Obama: 5 McCain: 2 Energy: Both are fairly similar with one key difference. McCain is in favor of pandering to the public with a gas tax holiday with Obama stating that tax money is needed to maintain our highway systems. Since I am also against offshore drilling, for the time being, the point here goes to Obama. Obama: 6 McCain: 2 Environment: Both McCain and Obama has some good ideas here, but Obama wants it taken to a more worldwide stage while McCain is keeping it at home. The global environment needs to be taken care of in a coalition of nations. No single country can do it alone. Obama: 7 McCain: 2 Free Trade: NAFTA needs some changes to it and Obama wants to do it. McCain's view on NAFTA is acceptable as well. So, they both get a point. Obama: 8 McCain: 3 Guns: Obama and McCain have voted similarly on this issue but one key phrase that has me wary about Guns and Obama: "But just because you have an individual right does not mean that the state or local government can't constrain the exercise of that right." No points for Obama here. Obama: 8 McCain: 4 Healthcare: Obama all the way here. Sorry, Chiefsfan. Obama: 9 McCain: 4 Homeland Security: Both seem to have solid plans here and I would find both fairly acceptable. Especially about Gitmo. Obama: 10 McCain: 5 Housing: I disagree with both of these buggers on this issue, especially about Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. The housing market is in shambles but it needs to be restructured from the ground up, not be given a band-aid. Throwing money at a problem will not solve it. No points for either of them Obama: 10 McCain: 5 Immigration: Both are spieling about the same noise here and I disagree with both of them. They both want to give amnesty to criminals and I just cannot abide by that. No points for either one. Obama: 10 McCain: 5 Iran: I with Obama here for the same reasons for Cuba. Obama: 11 McCain: 5 Iraq: Again I have to side with Obama on this issue. Obama: 12 McCain: 5 Israel: Both have the right idea on Israel I guess, and I find both of their views acceptable. A point for each! Obama: 13 McCain: 6 LGBT Issues: I have to side with Obama on this, and while I am all for full marriage rights, civil unions is a good compromise. In fact I would like to see all marriage be treated as civil unions under the law. Obama: 14 McCain: 6 Social Security: I have to side with McCain with this one. What Obama is proposing is a band aid and we don't need band aids, we need solutions. McCain has a solution that might work and we should give it a go. Obama: 14 McCain: 7 Stem Cell Research: Both have similar plans and both would be acceptable to me, but I do disagree with human cloning. I think that human cloning is key in helping those who are in dire need of organ transplants. Instead of being on a waiting list for a new kidney or heart, one could be cloned and implanted. However, that objection won't stop me from giving both a point. Obama: 15 McCain: 8 Taxes: I like Obama's tax plan over McCain's. Call me selfish but it would benefit me more than what McCain's would. Obama gets the point. Obama: 16 McCain: 8 Well, that is that. Just going down the issues, Obama is my candidate. Personally I would have like to see an Obama-McCain ticket than a Obama-Biden or McCain-Palin tickets, but this isn't an ideal world.
  11. Its not the rules, but the story. The main plot is just more fulfilling and more involved than ME. ME is good and all, better than most games and the best Bioware has yet released, but its like the pudding after you got done with the main course. Of course, this is just my opinion.
  12. I think that NWN2 might be a more enjoyable game than Mass Effect.
  13. Sorry, but my view on her stands. I have done quite a bit of research on her on various news sites, and she is definitely not a person I want anywhere near the White House.
  14. I have no problems with EA, just the protection scheme they used with MEPC. I won't buy another game that uses it in the future. If they decide to use the Stardock method or what they used before in the BG series or NWN1 then I will buy the game. But DRM as it stands with MEPC has to go. It will be decided on game by game basis.
  15. Personally I don't care about Palin's pregnant daughter. That is a private family matter and is irrelevant. What is relevant is her view on various issues of state and her judgment. The one major issue that reflects her goals and aims is her work with the Alaskan Independence Party. This is a political party whose soul purpose to get Alaska to secede from the Union and be its own country. Alaska is one of the richest sources of natural resources we have and we cannot have a candidate who will be one heartbeat away from the presidency who wanted to take it away.
  16. EA's addendum to the Gamer's Bill of Rights... http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/v...-of-Limitations
  17. As long as the game is fun, its all good.
  18. Lets not and say we didn't.
  19. Sure thing, grandma.
  20. Of course it is not wrong. Silly little man. Typical parties have five to six people in it. Actually, in Dungeons and Dragons 3e/3.5e the party structure and Challenge Rating system was balanced for a 4 character party. Withthe advent of 4e the balance was shifted to a 5 character party.
  21. Just for you, Dark Raven... http://kotaku.com/5044018/a-sea-of-pip-boy...t-to-april-wine
  22. Maybe you should broaden your horizons, Dark Raven. It may make you a happier person and gamer. EA is just another publisher and business and the point of business is to make money. EA will do what it does because it makes money. They will only stop when it no longer makes money. You can either buy the games they have to offer and have fun with them, or be an oldie but a moldie stating "Back in my day..." or "Get off my lawn!" while waving a cheap metal cane being ignored.
  23. I don't know about that. I have been averaging about 60 FPS with MEPC.
  24. Better writing? Seriously? NPC's? NPC's interaction...ie.. conversations? Both KotOR's? I think he is referring just to the first KotOR. Otherwise he would state KotOR2. Personally I haven't played the KotORs. I got Jade Empire, both versions, but haven't gotten much into them. Been mostly playing MEPC since I beaten the Xbox360 version.
