  1. Moderate or liberal, there's no way Obola will appoint anyone who won't vote with the liberal block on controversial decisions, giving them at least a 5-4 majority. Which means what's left of the Constitution is gone. Second amendment, probably first amendment, no limits on presidential power, allowing one man rule by decree. Obola caught on his own hypocrisy: http://www.redstate.com/leon_h_wolf/2016/02/17/reporter-gets-obama-admit-broken-judicial-nomination-process-damn-fault-video/ Btw, ever classy, -er- I mean a punk, Obola will not go to Scalia's funeral. Back to the election, more about the rise of Trump : http://theweek.com/articles/605312/conservatives-have-failed-donald-trumps-supporters Love this sentence:
  2. It's pretty unfair to put someone through the entire nomination process when you have no intention to vote for him in the first place. Now I know you're living in an alternate reality. If they really don't have hearings, I know it's a little dubious constitutionally but nominations are held up all the time, there's a long precedent, but I really like the idea that for once the election will be a referendum on the balance of the court and it will be decided democratically.
  3. Yes, the borking was when I first lost my youthful idealism and faith in the American system of governance. Don't think anyone cares anymore though, just going to be another partisan argument.
  4. Someone please explain to me how Biden can still get in when the deadline to be on most primary ballots is long past. A massive write-in campaign?
  5. CBS poll before the latest debate had Trump at 42% in SC, but the fight between Trump and Cruz has turned vicious, and Trump is now attacking the RNC again. We'll have to see how that affects the vote.
  6. I think you have misunderstood something about the situation in Eastern Europe here. None of the nations in Eastern Europe is any military threat to Russia, and so there is no need to intimidate anyone. This is really strange logic. The country that's not a threat is exactly the country that's easiest to intimidate. Putin is known to shed bitter tears over the loss of the Soviet Empire. That would require a miracle, not a foreign policy. Edit: Let the conspiracy theories begin: http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2016/02/14/conspiracy-theories-surround-justice-scalias-death/
  7. Okay but you seemed to be concerned about the fact that Americas enemies were laughing at you because they see America as weak and stupid ...yet you mention countries that cannot laugh at either of those things because Russia's economy is in recession and this wont change and the Chinese great economic experiment of a export driven economy and relying on state control in times of economic hardship has failed .....its really failed and the Chinese are now restructuring there entire economy to consumer based and industrialized. This makes sense but will take 3-5 years if it succeeds So think about it neither of those countries could possibly laugh at the USA when they failed to maintain there own economies. And this is a fundamental point that actually contradicts what certain right wing views espouse...and I'm worried they may be unduly influencing your view. I'm not suggesting you stupid at all but can you see how someone saying " America is now the laughing stock of its enemies due to Obama" is factually not correct And I'm not going to even mention NK or Iran as they are no real threat to the West It's quite possible to have a bad economy yet still laugh at our inept foreign policy. Russian economy might be a wreck, but they managed to modernize their armed forces to be a real threat (and the nukes of course), and their foreign policy is at least partially working as witnessed by Assad's new found success and the fear Russia is inspiring in Eastern Europe. China hasn't become any less aggressive either in spite of their recent economic troubles. As far as NK not being a threat, their satellite passed over the Super Bowl stadium just after it ended, what if they put a nuclear device on a satellite and destroy our electric grid with an EMP? Not to mention their constantly improving ballistic missiles.
  8. I wouldn't doubt it, I firmly believe US is the greatest country in the history of the world. That's not Obola's achievement though, he'd like to destroy everything that makes US great. As far as enemies, the usual, Russia, China, NK, Iran. Btw, turns out the Senate is in recess unit Feb 22, so Obola could make a recess appointment if he hurries up.
  9. Well, US was in the Civil War at the time. Also I'm not sure how something that happened 150 years ago is relevant now. Rule of law definitely declined when the President constantly refuses to enforce or follow the law. We're a laughing stock in foreign affairs because our enemies believe us weak and stupid. All the new regulations and laws and the general anti-business attitude I believe hurt the economy. The accumulated national debt is a heavy burden on the economy. The deficit is going up without bound again and no one's dealing with it, possibly leading to an economic collapse in the future. As far as Iraq having nuclear weapons, I think Cheney meant to say Iraq had reconstituted a nuclear weapon capability, not an actual nuclear weapon, because I don't remember such a claim being made at the time.
  10. Funny how liberals suddenly find outmoded, useless Constitution when it's convenient.
  11. McConnell says no SC replacement until next president: http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2016/02/13/mitch-mcconnell-supreme-court-vacancy-should-be-filled-after-election/
  12. I don't think you've quite imagined what that would be like. No, it was removed to have a filibuster proof majority of Democrats, unless you consider Lieberman a Republican. It can be vacant for as long as Senate doesn't confirm a nominee. So Republicans will have to decide whether to confirm a moderate Obola would have to nominate or have the possibility that the next president will be a Democrat with a Democrat Senate and appoint a far left person. I predict Republicans will try to drag it out till after the election. If the Court is tied 4-4, the appellate court decision stands. Edit: Yeah, you're right, I doubt Republicans would let the Senate officially go into recess for that reason.
  13. Bruce I just don't understand where you get the notion this is what Barack Obama is all about. How is a society where an agency of the government is used to undermine political participation of opposing viewpoints fair and equitable? How is a society where veterans are subject to addtional police scrutiny because of political opinions the administration THINKS they MIGHT have fair and equitable? How is a government that asserts it would be perfectly ok to kill it's own citizens with no due process if the leader of that government believes they are participating in terrorisim? How is is fair and equitable for an administration to use executive orders to make changes to laws passed by the legislature and signed by the executive years after the fact? How is is fair and equitable when every shred of electronic communication is being monitored by the NSA? How is it fair of equitable if the government can use the force of law to complel a citizen, as a condition of citizenship, to enter into a private contract with a 3rd party of the governments choosing? There is nothing fair or equitable about that has been going on in the United States the past fifteen years. He means it's more fair and equitable than a burning tire around your neck. Edit: Questions not asked at the Democrat debate: http://www.investors.com/politics/andrew-malcolm/democratic-debate-clinton-sanders-obama/
  14. He supports Trump if I recall correctly. That is correct. Trump is the only nationalist in the race.
  15. But Christie should have the nation's gratitude for disemboweling the sniveling liar Rubio.
  16. Once again proving your total lack of judgment. Sanders at a Stalinist kibbutz: https://pjmedia.com/ronradosh/2016/02/06/bernies-adventures-on-a-stalinist-kibbutz/ Yes, there was such a thing.
  17. Ultimate General. Fast moving and fun. The key seems to be watching your units' morale and making them fall back if it's too low, and turning on the topographic map and moving your artillery up to the front line preferably on a hill.
  18. Meh, as usual he's lying about most of his positions for the primary. The comparison to GWB is a good one.
  19. Obligatory Unlike the kulaks I've got assault rifles. Edit: A long profile of Rubio: http://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2015/10/marco-rubio-profile-213275 The good stuff starts in the middle of page 5. Even an incident portrayed in "Scarface".
  20. If you want them to consider your suggestions, I suggest you post on their forum at the link in the OP. The game is inspired by Heinlein's "Orphans of the Sky" generation ship novel.
  21. No one likes her, nurse Ratched has a warmer and more genuine personality. Interesting and accurate analysis of Cruz: http://www.texasmonthly.com/politics/the-top-10-things-you-need-to-know-about-ted-cruz/ America under Sanders: http://www.hoover.org/research/enemy-state Down with the kulaks -er- billionaires!
  22. If you somewhere in the foreign frozen north get it, how come so many American "conservatives" don't? I know, it's our wonderful brainwashing -er- I mean educational system. Btw, Cruz is an even heavier supporter of H1-B, he wants to quintuple them when Rubio only wants to triple them. Edit: Also, for everyone who thinks that Rubio is somehow moderate, both Cruz and Rubio think that a woman should be forced to carry her rapist's child for 9 months. Edit2: How Cruz won Iowa: http://www.bloomberg.com/politics/articles/2016-02-02/how-ted-cruz-engineered-his-iowa-triumph (by pandering) I'm too bored to read it all, but looks like a lot of good information for those interested.
  23. As usual Zakaria doesn't know what he's talking about, or know anything about American politics. His theories don't take into account the huge Republican victories in 2014, and he doesn't seem to know the Republicans (with Clinton) did welfare reform and reduce the welfare rolls by half. What's really going on is a fight between nationalists vs globalists, establishment vs populists, business interests vs working people interests. Republican establishment does lie to their base, but what they lie about is being the extension of the Chamber of Commerce. Edit: Not really. The most applicable analogy would be like criticising someone who praised the early US, particularly the South, who did not want to implement slavery. Which as someone who lives in Texas you should know is a good portion of the population and Republican base. Are you triggered everytime someone with a confederate flag or with a hardon for 1776 doesn't also want to put a few people in chains? If someone said the Confederate society or the 1776 society was superior to ours, you would indeed have to wonder about such a person. Sanders didn't praise Soviet space achievements, he praised Soviet society, quite a big difference. Supporting privacy isn't foolish, but admiring Soviet society, thinking that Socialism can work, or opposing surveillance when it's used for national security is indeed foolish.
  24. I am skeptical of both right and left wing sources. Because they are typically more interested in slinging mud at the other side than actually being an unbiased source of information. Which is basically what Rostere said. I mean, you don't ever have doubts about the party line you are buying into? I don't buy into any party line, I am skeptical about all sources (as far as facts, as far as opinions I form my own). The reason I frequently post Breitbart links is that they cover stories main stream media (which I also read) likes to ignore, as Rostere pointed out. Even on Breitbart some people are more credible, and others are more in the knee jerk propaganda mode. Unfortunately I don't know any truly objective news sources, nor do I believe any exist. Edit: Ending Spending Action Fund is an independent organization that proudly supports candidates regardless of party affiliation who favor enhancing free enterprise and balancing our nation's budget. Learn more at EndingSpendingFund.com. So is this video made to support Sanders or to support other candidates (aka Clinton)? Seems to be a viral commercial for Sanders.
  25. Being against surveillance of citizens is idiotic now? I guess totalitarian measures are only bad when those dirty commies do it. Clearly the US government will never do anything wrong. I take it when anyone admires Thomas Jefferson and they don't want to enslave their biological children you're going to get triggered and call them hypocrites? Because clearly it's impossible to admire specific qualities or opinions without emulating something completely. The correct analogy here would be castigating Thomas Jefferson for holding slaves while expressing admiration for slave holding societies. What does that matter? The analyst could be a Nazi for all I care. I agree with his analysis, not his worldview nor his solutions. Would you disregard all theories behind why people are attracted to communism from socialist authors? Opinions do not factor in when making a factual analysis of the situation. That was directed specifically at Hurlshot, who normally refuses to believe anything from right wing sources. Note that I was talking about my own link, so I certainly wasn't trying to discredit it.
