  1. Redcliffe moral choice would be tough if you didn't have the obviously good option, which I suppose you could miss accidentally. Also there is a way to trigger the bad option without meaning to, which I did and then reloaded.
  2. In theory, you could say that kidnapping is more like arresting. After all the guys ARE the ones who are entering Somali territorial waters. No, they are in international waters.
  3. Not only can't you build a Bahai temple in Iran, you can't even publish a picture! http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20091123/wl_mi..._20091123211536 (The temple in the picture was in India, not in Israel the way the sloppily written article suggests)
  4. Morrigan is very eager for you to save Sten and a blood mage in Redcliffe, and you get a lot of approval points if you do. Also you can tell her she's an evil shrew and to stop being such a bitch, which is great.
  5. ice.bmpArctic sea ice not doing too bad lately, although the 30 year trend is still down: http://www.ijis.iarc.uaf.edu/en/home/seaice_extent.htm
  6. I guess this would explain the recent cooling. Quick, we need to spend $50 trillion to move the earth closer to the sun to counter act this.
  7. I can't even set traps without losing stealth at tier 2 and my cunning is reasonably high. Looks like I'll have to get tier 3. Some of the gameplay decisions they made in this game are strange to say the least.
  8. Finally finished Wolfenstein, very good game except for the boss battles, I skipped the final boss completely. And the checkpoint system, while generally well implemented, probably made me take at least twice as long to finish as a save anytime would.
  9. They had a perfectly fine nuclear disposal site in Yucca Mountain, which Obama cancelled due to parochial Nevada interests. If France can get 70% of their electricity from nuclear, why can't we?
  10. An interesting interview on the subject: http://pajamasmedia.com/blog/pielke-sr-cli...-pjm-exclusive/
  11. Does backstab work with ranged weapons also?
  12. If it's a 720P TV, all it's doing is down converting it back to 720P before it displays it. If it can show the signal, it means it's designed to handle it, so it shouldn't damage anything.
  13. OK, so you have the component cable. I think you can try 1080P without any problems, though I don't see the point. You could try 1080i first, any HD TV should be able to accept that signal.
  14. Rogues are a lot of fun to stealth, scout out the enemy, set traps, fire a critical shot from stealth, then run like hell to hide behind the rest of the party.
  15. How many video connectors are on that cable? You need the component cable (3 video connectors) to even get 720P. Like I said, if your TV has an HDMI connector, it should be able to accept a 1080P signal. I think the xbox360 hdmi cable will give you an optical 5.1 output also, but I'm not sure.
  16. I think you need an HDMI connector for 1080P, and if your TV has that it should be able to accept that signal. But you're better off setting the 360 to the native resolution of the TV, and 360 games are all rendered in 720P anyway.
  17. True, that is the current unemployment rate but that only includes people who are actively receiving benefits. Not included in that percentage are the people who have already used up all their benefit and have been removed from the list, which makes the number much closer to Gorgons. I'm pretty sure it counts everyone who's still looking for work. Also unemployment benefits have been extended, to may be 18 months. I don't think unemployment is anywhere near 20%, that would be Great Depression levels.
  18. The official rate is something like 10.2%. Some say it's higher as you should really count underemployment. I tend to think that's bull since at that point you're not comparing apples to apples.
  19. OK, unemployment only counts people who are temporarily out of work, not people who don't work at all or are engaged in criminal activity instead. Normal US unemployment is around 5%, of course now it's twice that because of the economic crisis.
  20. Yeah, I was thinking special relativity, I didn't even realize there was general relativity. It's all on Wikipedia of course.
  21. Looks like it may all be a fabrication: http://news.yahoo.com/s/time/20091201/wl_time/08599194353900
  22. It was from the giant mattress they used for the Big Bang. This does sound important, sounds like they're still debating it though. Also I don't think it negates the theory of relativity, it seems to be a refinement where gravity is concerned.
