  1. The one with the vampires, you could kill either the vampire hunters or the vampires. The crazy paranoid guy quest could be resolved a couple of ways I think. The party assassination quest there was an optimal solution you could get. There were minor variations in other quests as well.
  2. Now we're going to arm the rebels. In 2 months those weapons will probably be used against us.
  3. Obviously a game for the kiddies. Give me an M rated Bioware game anytime, what kind of lame game doesn't let you have gay sex scenes while covered in blood head to toe?
  4. Dying because you screwed up, not because you did something perfectly reasonable. That's frustrating as hell and takes you out of the moment.
  5. Having to reload is not a good way to accomplish that. Apparently Crysis2 is looking swell on the 360. As usual, it's much more about software and how much work you put into it than the hardware. Interesting. I'm not doubting you, but do you have any linkable pieces discussing this point? Sorry, missed your post earlier, but here you go: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalf...rysis2-face-off
  6. I've had a couple of ideas kicking around in my head I'd like to offer as unsolicited advice: NV is a great game, but doesn't quite hit it out of the ballpark. As is customary, I blame the publisher for not giving Obsidian enough money/time. Specifically, the 2 problems I see are a) Too many filler quests, not enough substantial quests b) A related and thus a greater problem, the plot isn't that good. The initial stuff with is interesting but then it just goes into a rival factions competition, which isn't a story as much as a device. To make matters worse, a lot of the main story quests don't really have anything to do with the story. Those should've been sidequests, while the main story quests should've actually advanced the story in a meaningful way. It seems to me with all the good writers Obsidian has they should be able to come up with a better plot, or hire a book writer for the plot if all else fails.
  7. Here's some background on the reasons for US involvement, presenting both sides of the issue: http://news.yahoo.com/s/thenation/20110330...henation/159570 This is probably the only time I link to someone like Hayden or the Nation.
  8. That might make it easier to produce hydrogen for fuel cell cars, I wonder if it would be practical to have a home installation and fuel your car from there. Edit: Of course, there's also this: http://news.yahoo.com/comics/dilbert#id=/c...umedia/20112903
  9. It probably makes a ton of sense for the US to do the initial investment, considering the costs of fuel, costs of wars to keep the fuel going, costs of environmental compliance etc, the initial investment would be a drop in the bucket. That is assuming this isn't too good to be true of course.
  10. I know Krezack has posted about Thorium before, and it's not a new discovery, but seems especially relevant in light of the nuclear situation: http://www.thestar.com/news/insight/articl...ur-energy-needs
  11. Another Battle for Normandy AAR on RPS : http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2011/03/25...r-normandy-aar/
  12. Books don't have interactive sex scenes. Neither did the game.. Or did I really miss something in the romance? But you all want it, don't deny it!
  13. Books don't have interactive sex scenes.
  14. The deficit plan has bipartisan support, the only thing needed is some courage from the politicians: http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0311/51864.html
  15. The Codex' main function is to provide a Hate Vortex from which MCA can feed off of, so it does provide a valuable service to the gaming public. Here is the link to the original article: http://www.killerbetties.com/killer_women_...pler?page=0%2C3 Well, she might have a point if you consider that movies made for women are unwatchable for men, at least not without a barf bag.
  16. Because being branded a "hater" is an easy way for people to shove your opinions aside. Slamming the game for being mediocre is much harder to disprove or argue. And it probably is mediocre, because Bioware does have a sort of quality assurance and isn't likely to publish a truly "bad" product if you're judging by the generally low standards of the gaming industry. DAO was already little better than mediocre, so if DA2 is significantly worse, it would have to be bad. I thought we wanted reviewers to give their honest opinions. As far as Bio QA, the uncharted worlds in ME were the worse thing I've ever seen in a game. I couldn't believe Bioware or any professional developer would stoop that low, but here we are. Edit: MC, why don't you just provide a link, that place is scary to search.
  17. Depends on his grading scale, if 5 means average, 2.5 would mean bad, 0 would be completely unplayable. Besides, he really hates the game, why say it's just mediocre?
  18. Demo can put off as many people as it attracts, especially for an RPG where you don't really have time to figure everything out before the demo ends. Might be a good idea to release it a couple of weeks after the game comes out though.
  19. Wow. I mean... wow. That guy blades the game to pieces. I suspect he's off the Bioware Christmas card list, and read the comments (along the lines of "about time a games reviewer stuck it to The Man"). It does seem like a very good review. Of course I have a bad case of confirmation bias.
  20. Old people are a Medicare problem, Medicare is already completely Federal, so health care reform has nothing to do with it. Medicare reform is what's needed, but that's a hell of a tough nut to crack.
  21. Apparently Crysis2 is looking swell on the 360. As usual, it's much more about software and how much work you put into it than the hardware.
  22. Just one AC game sells 8 million copies, to say nothing of the entire franchise. There's no RPG that sells anything like that, so basically they can't afford it. Plus the RPG developers (and there're only a few) just happen to be not that good with graphics and stuff. We'll see about DS3. I'm not sure I buy that fully. The Hitman game had huge crowd tech. and I don't think those sell way more than a Bioware game. Plus they had no way of knowing AC would be a huge hit, it was a gamble and a new IP. Maybe an RPG could sell numbers like that if they made their games look like AC. I buy the limited resources argument a bit more. I get that an RPG needs to focus on different things than an action game, but since DA2 has clearly been 'action-ized' to appeal to a wider audience, it would be nice if we got some of the best parts of being an action game as well. They wouldn't know for sure AC would be a hit, but it was definitely planned as a big budget IP by Ubisoft, who has that kind of money to throw around. So they chose the genre they thought would have the widest appeal, and it sure ain't RPG's, as Boo said.
  23. I'm concerned they're promising too much. Branching paths with modern presentation is expensive to implement, plus the team has 0 track record. Will wait for reviews and forum feedback before I get it.
  24. I knew it, the government is out to kill grandma!
