I'm in the middle of my Sith Master playthrough of The Force Unleashed. Why did everyone hate this game so much?

Huh? God of War is the only bad series on my list. I still felt compelled to mention it because GoW recently became of Sony's most iconic franchises. Amusingly enough, The Last Guardian is the only game on your list that I am interested in. I guess PS3 has something for everyone.

I like KotOR 2, despite its ending. Very :philosoraptor:. More ad populum. Psychonauts was a commercial failure. God Hand got bashed by reviewers because of its difficulty and bombed financially. I guess that makes both of them failures.

Since the price is the same now, it all comes down to exclusives. 360 has Halo, Fable, Gears of War, Crackdown and Lost Odyssey. PS3 has Folklore, Disgaea, Ratchet & Clank, God of War, Uncharted and Valkyria Chronicles. Google the ones you're unfamiliar with and get the console that has more games you're interested in.

Right. Except one of them ended on the most embarassing cliffhanger in the history of writing, and the other one just plain stopped making any sense half way through. Ad populum much?

Heavy Rain will be a fail more epic than Dreamfall and Fahrenheit combined. QTEs instead of actual gameplay? Check. Promotional images that try to look like move posters? Check. Pretentious claims that NPCs aren't NPCs, but "digital actors"? Check. I'm afraid that even the power of Cell is insufficient to process so much next-genness at once.

Curse was good, but given a choice between Curse and a game by the same team based on a completely new IP, I'd pick a new IP.

That's not how you spell God Hand. Oh, and Sonic 2006 is totally the Plan 9 from Outer Space of gaming.

DMC 3 was OK. The problem with it was that Cerberus and Agni & Rudra, arguably the trickiest bosses in the game, were the first bosses you faced. After them it was mostly smooth sailing. If you want brutal difficulty, try Ninja Gaiden. Even the lowliest of mooks pose a real threat, and every time a new enemy type is introduced, you will be destroyed until you learn how to deal with them. That's on Normal, mind you. Stuff that happens on Hard, Very Hard and Master Ninja has to be seen to be believed. Over the top animation in DMC and Bayonetta isn't meant to be taken seriously. Can't you see the games winking at you?

God Hand and Devil May Cry 3 *look* that way too, when they are played by someone who has a clue. Just watch this or this. And here's an actual Bayonetta controls video. They combine elements from both DMC and NG, and are some of the most complex I've ever seen. You simply can't button mash with controls like that, provided the AI isn't completely passive and retarded. Well, you can try to.

Are you still talking about Very Easy Automatic mode that the lead designer calls Mommy Mode? If including Automatic is what it takes for Platinum to stay in business instead of suffering the fate of Clover and Troika then let them include Automatic. I trust Kamiya and know that he isn't stupid enough to dumb down higher difficulty levels.

Automatic is only available on easy. You know, the difficulty I won't be playing on. It's out, but only in US and Japan. European release date is Q1 2010. I could import, but multiplayer would be availabe only at night because America sleeps when it's day around here.

Out of these three, Uncharted has the most in common with Tomb Raider. It is, however, more combat heavy, and there's no auto targeting. You have to aim manually using the right stick. Oh, and it has a Gears-like cover system. About the only thing Uncharted shares with the latest Prince of Persia is Nolan North who voices both Nathan Drake, the lead of Uncharted, and the prince.

Liked: 1. Simon Templeman voices the baddie. 2. Variety. There are gunfights, vehicle levels, platforming and puzzle solving. When you start getting tired of one of these elements the game moves on to another one. 3. Simon Templeman voices the baddie. 4. Writing. The plot isn't particularly original, but there are real instances of character development, and dialogue is pretty clever. A lot of stock action movie one-liners get spoofed. 5. Simon Templeman voices the baddie. 6. Visuals. It's a very green game, which is a nice break from very brown games that dominate the market. 7. Simon Templeman voices the baddie. Didn't like: 1. The baddie (who is voiced by Simon Templeman, BTW) doesn't get enough screen time.

Those two Warhammer games (Shadow of the Horned Rat and Dark Omen). The Myth series are a close second. EDIT: I like Warhammer for having Skaven and a hilariously badass protagonist, and Myth for great map design.
