  1. If it makes economical sense (Vista! DX10! Games for Windows! Morgoth Industries!), Beth will release it for the PC too.... Perhaps. )
  2. The Fall is also for what I wait. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Then you can wait for eternity, because I don't think Silver Style will find a publisher insane enough to publish this POS outside of the mother country. Really. Don't touch it. Afterfall though looks promising. Another game I loved from Poland was Gorky 17. Combat and atmosphere was a hell lot of fun, and even the NPCs were quite cool. Too bad there won't be a proper sequel though.
  3. Ahhh the memories.... I wish there were more games like Sanitarium, because I'm getting quickly sick of all these "E" rated colorful kids adventures.
  4. Looks good. I hope you'll find a publisher, because I also want some QA and voice overs...
  5. New preview at CVG.
  6. Currently playing Far Cry and Runaway 2 - both totally awesome games!
  7. Crazy weapon design is something I missed in many FPS. The usual pistol-shotgun-M16-grenade launcher configuration just got boring. I'm happy that Bioshock is going to be more creative in that way....
  8. Without reading through all that chunk I just want to add that Fallout is all about the setting, humor and the society that struggles with the given life. And I can wholeheartedly stomach a realtime combat (or lack for SPECIAL or any kind of number-increasing junk), if Bethesda just catches the spirit of Fallout. Alas, from what I've seen in Oblivion, they aren't good world creators, either. So it's really just a let's wait and see and drink some tea situation right now.
  9. Extra-terrestrial object crash lands in/near North Korea; PC is an operative sent there to investigate (cue lots of politically-correct violence against the eeeeevil North Koreans, who have got to the crashsite first); then the object triggers some environmental event whereby the world starts to freeze, from the crashsite out (cue lots of politically-correct violence against aliens). <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sounds like War of the Worlds meets Ice Age.
  10. Yeah but from the distance (isometric view, no close-ups) this doesn't really matter. Hand-painted vertex colors, baked lightmaps and other subtle effects that improve the "arty" look surely is what I'd have craved for more than the full real-time lighting engine in NWN2. But that's maybe just me.
  11. No, No, Yes, No and Yes.
  12. Becoming like EA by improving important workflow and team organization? Huge yes, but not too huge and comparably shallow like G3. As Kai said, the "soul" of Gothic 3 lacks. I myself think Genome has tons of potential with increased player-input/reaction ratio. I'm all for more atmospheric and interactive worlds instead of all that Hollywood movie-cutscene crap some devs are pursuing and claiming as Next-Gen stuff, but G3 still felt too repetitive and shallow. Not necesarrily due to the half-finished Genome engine, more about the fact that they neglected the game a wee too much. That's why they should have a tech group that is separately (and ahead) working to the content team. No EA mutation necessary.
  13. With gametab.com I've an overview over all relevant gaming news I need - Just with one mouse click!
  14. What I derived from the interview is that most of the effort during development was spent into Genome and it's tools, less about the game. They're after all, a very small team, so they had to prioritize their efforts. They surely should reorganize (and hiring new staff) the team, divide the team roughly in tech group (tools, implementation of intern and third party stuff etc.) and setup a content team (design, art, game programming, scripting/writing) that is wholly dedicated to the game itself.
  15. More Info on The Crossing
  16. I bought my copy over Ebay for EUR 25,--, and sold it back for EUR 30,--. That's reason for me to be happy. 5
  17. Me and blast them? G3 is just a step back in my book, that's all. World's bigger, graphics better, but the meat's weaker. Maybe my taste over all these years just changed. Whatever. It just isn't so addictive as the previous games used to be, thus it cannot be saved by mere patches anymore.
  18. Ohh...after all this GFX hype and stuff I forgot something to ask: What's actually the story about the game? I just don't remember anymore... Not that it is any important when I also can throw people through walls and watch the physical perfectly calculated wooden plank flying around, which also bounce back properly according to DX10 Sm 4.0 specifications....and stuff.
  19. So they would somehow redeem themselves by not supporting the customers who bought Gothic 3..? You want them to not work on the next patch? Great logic. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What's the point? Most people already played through it or (like myself) got bored after a few hours of gameplay. Damn how much I liked the first Chapter in G2.... Khorinis, tons of people to talk to and tons of quests. In G3, I run just from one mini-village to another and always must listen to the same boring "Leave me alone!" lines. Meh. Customer support huh? Some companies dedicate just for the post-support alone a larger team than whole Piranha bytes! I want them to use the time to make something new, not waste another half year for trying to fix a boring game.
  20. They can redeem themselves by dropping the Gothic franchise once and for all and make something new.
  21. Fast level-ups can get pretty annoying, especially in Kotor. I always felt the Level-Up sounds rings every 5 min there. Drove me nuts... That's why I prefer games that don't have any level-ups at all. But that's maybe just me.
  22. Yes. You want some infos about Quantic Dream and it's (canceled) projects, you can visit this website.
  23. Yeah, but there's no mention HR is gonna be like Fahrenheit. In fact, Infraworld got canceled last year because it's Fahrenheit like concept didn't appeal to the publishers. But Noir and Life-like digital actors is always a good thing. I only hope they also bother to make it for the PC.
  24. Well, then you'll just play with dumb AI bots. But maybe that doesn't make a difference at all, either.
  25. That just sounds like Counterstrike. What's the deal with "Story-driven"? I thought I could play the hero who has to safe the chicks while the rest has to play some peasant type dudes who clean the streets, or play merchant, or drive my limousine. )
