  1. Mass Effect 2. Without ****ty subtitle. Just "2". I like that.
  2. Well there's Alpha Protocol you should consider, for starters. I haven't played DoW2 yet, and I heard albeit it has changed from the standard RTS formula, it's still a competent game on it's own.
  3. I think with Bioshock Ken already had the freedom to do something interesting - it's just the execution that was "changed". But of course I remain optimistic for both Bioshock 2 and Ken's NextBigThing - they're all an incredibly talented bunch, and I always was (am) a huge fanboy of their work.
  4. Bioshock has a long history. He started working on it after SS2 I think, and it constantly evolved. It was first revealed in 2004, as a complete different game "A'la The Fly meets Nazi underground complex" or something like that. I thought it really really sounded very ambitious. So it further developed and changed, up until the last minute where it was "crippled". Too bad, I wish we could get a game with the old concept - it sounded more like a SciFi-horror game. Yes, horror. That's what I'm missing in Bioshock the most. It just isn't scary. Edit: Like that.
  5. Yeah, Bioshock really took shape and the team was assembling the game together to a little masterpiece, until Ken made the decision to cut everything down and basically make it a straight forward shooter. It's not bad as it was released, it just screams so much after "More potential!". Maybe he did the right business choice, but he didn't do the right artistic choice.
  6. The only game that kept Irrational over water was SWAT4 - which sold 800k. Not bad for a PC game with no story. Funny, it was the only Irrational game where Ken wasn't involved, and voila'! It sells. Tribes Vengeance and FFvs3rd Reich bombed hard. I'm curios what he's doing these days? I really hope he's involved in that rumored X-Com game.
  7. But he can at least feed his family!
  8. Emil Pagliarulo though comes from Looking Glass fame. He's a good guy, he worked on Thief 2 as a level designer. And it's still better that he did the writing in F3 rather than Toddy boy.
  9. In this industry, you only get recognized if you're good and sell tons of units. And in addition to Kotor 2, Chris also did work on NWN2 and MotB, which many of us are very fond of.
  10. Did he actually write anything for Thief though? It doesn't say in his article. Btw, the guy who did the Cradle level in Thief: DS is supposed to be heading up Bioshock 2, that could be very interesting. Yes, Thief I think was his first job in the game industry. He wrote the story.
  11. Well, he was the lead writer on Kotor 2 as well for starters....which sold about 2 million units. HA! Good Fun!
  12. Tee Hee!
  13. Erik Walpow is awesome, he wrote for Portal, and he was also the Co-Writer on Psychonauts. Tim Schafer is simply a genuis as well. Drew Kaprpeshyn is okay-ish I guess. He did a good job on Mass Effect. Hideo Kojami is an awesome dude, he directed the awesome MGS4. Ken Levine dude is the Thief/System Shock2/Bioshock dude. Therefor, he's an awesome dude too. The rest I don't know/is garbage.
  14. No chance I'm getting the Empire demo today. First 50% went full speed, then the unwashed masses probably noticed that the demo is just out and boggled the Steam content servers down. Now I'm creeping with a 23kbyte/s.
  15. Where is George Ziets, David Gaider and David Cage?
  16. I'm downloading the Empire: Total War demo right now.
  17. Actually, I had some fond memories of Operation Flashpoint. I died a lot, but the game kept me trying the mission again anyway. It offered some pleasant ultrarealism. How's ArmA? Should I give it a go now with Patch 1.14?
  18. That boy looks more like 8. That little horny ****er....
  19. Have you seen the animation of running with pistol out in FO3? If FO3 can get away with something so bad, it's unlikely Bioware is going to worry about their animations overmuch. Huh? I played F3 the whole time in first-person, as it's supposed to be. The rest of the NPC animations were okay, they didn't stick out as annoying or bad imo. But in Dragon Age, there's a lot of cutscenes, so I expect that at least the cutscene animations and blending get cleaned up.
  20. Well judging from the demo this whole thing makes the impression it's total garbage. But I may be wrong. Perhaps someone could buy the game and tell us?
  21. It was one of the better interviews. And the animations still need alot tweaking, that's for sure.
  22. The game start is about when Michael horribly fails his first mission. That's what we heard at least.
  23. There' a new interview with Ray Muzyka from J
  24. Sweet. Thanks for the link.
  25. That screenshot for the sequel looks rather interesting. Perhaps I'm gonna give Drakensang a try in a few months, it's already very cheap to buy.
