  1. Bought Demigod today on Impulse and I'm positively suprised. Took me some time to figure out what the hell this game is about, but once you discover the mechanics it certainly has an addicting quality. So far, the Rook completely owns! But I've yet to start a multiplayer game against a human opponent...
  2. Maybe that sounds nuts, but I deliberately don't watch any gameplay videos or get info on units. The only SC2 vid I've seen was that during the Blizzcon announcment in 2007. When I get the Beta key, I'll sell it on ebay. When the game finally comes out, it will be a completely fresh experience and I will find joy to discover all the new units. First time starting a new Blizzard game is always like birthday.
  3. Everything will run through Battle net, there's no bypass.
  4. Played the demo. Very slick GUI, and nice graphics and animations. Unfortunately, the game lacks soul.
  5. It is war, Krezy. "Terrorism" is a buzz word that has been given a strong, and justified, negative meaning. War is war. It doesn't change if you use buzz words. It doesn't change if you are in a uniform or not. It is war. In war you defeat your enemy or you will lose against your enemy. All is fair in war. Attacking citizens on purpose would clearly violate the Geneva conventions. Many soldiers had to die to get the Red Cross and the Geneva conventions established, and any belligerent power in war better remembers that. That includes the USA, too.
  6. I actually liked the old boxart more.
  7. Does Demigod also have a singleplayer portion (campaign or skirmish?), or is it a multiplayer game only?
  8. Obviously there're plenty people that enjoy Chris' games, otherwise he wouldn't be in the biz anymore. Give him some credit for being a chicken farmer at least!
  9. If you are civil, constructive, and respectful in your criticism I don't see a problem. Sure, but how often do you see that these days? Often time I have to endure reading cruel cursing and sh-bombs coming from mediocre/uneducated developers that think of themselves as something important.
  10. I never really liked his games, but I surely admire his attitude. Gamasutra talks with Chris Taylor about being a farmer and an independent developer. Click If Kings & Castles won't turn out to be such a borefest as Supreme Commander then I'll gladly spend my money to keep GPG running and kicking.
  11. Okay, I was maybe dramatizing a bit too much. His spine wasn't completely broken, and now he's wearing one of those funny supporting belts around his back. He's doing just fine and recovering fast. Good, because I need him help me dragging some furniture for me.
  12. Greeeeaaaat! Someone close this thread already...
  13. According to IGN Alpha Protocol will be released on June 1th in NA, May 28th in Europe and May 27th in kangaroo land. Take this with a grain of salt though. I wanna hear confirmation from Matthew first.
  14. It's generally always seen as bad behaviour to openly criticise a fellow developer/publisher in this industry. You never know, it could one day backfire on you.
  15. Thanks for all the condolences. He's now sleeping like a baby (under morphine).
  16. Some people sure have too much time on their hands. I just took the default Shep and was ready to go.
  17. Okay I played this and I totally suck in it. I'm glad I didn't have to pay first to figure that out..
  18. Okay, so his spine is broken, and he also got a hematoma on his lungs. But his condition now is stable (phew). I'll pray for him, even if I'm not the religious type.
  19. What I certainly noticed in the last years is that a differentiated and reasonable discussion about muslims and Islam seem to be more and more abandoned by the media. Always when you pick up some ****ty tabloid that is about Islam you see a black background and an opressed woman/jihad warrior or some kind of fearful crap on it. With this, you only instill a negative view about a whole community. That massive immigration into Europe can cause problems is not a new phenomenon (think of 19th century industrialisation and mass movements from Eastern to western Europe), but I miss a sensible and problem-solving-oriented discourse about this on an European level. Let's not forget that condemning a whole religion/culture/ethnicy once let to a human disaster not too long ago. In this in the middle of Europe.
  20. Today I learned that my dear brother in law felt from 6 meter height down with his back on a rock. Now he's in hospital, fighting for his life. My sis and his 2 year old son are emotionally destroyed, like the rest of the family. You never know what **** can happen to you, but it always happens when it is least expected. This sucks.
  21. Indeed. Must have looked over that.
  22. It's on Steam sale for 10
  23. Must be unpractical, dragging around that carpet.
  24. I wonder why Ubisoft even bothers making PC ports. That new protection scheme (pulls you out when disconnect) is a pile of horse****. And it probably gets cracked within days anyway.
