  1. I don't think so. Dark Messiah was bound to the Might & Magic frnachise, which belongs to Ubisoft. Arx 2 is very likely though to be developed by the Lyon studio, while the Austin studio under Harvey Smith (Deus Ex) works on something else.
  2. Even knowing you would have to endure masses of pimple-faced 12year old German nerds?
  3. Hope there's going to be a demo. But I liked what I saw in the Gamestar preview. They completely nailed the Gothic humor with the rough Ruhrgebiet language. Don't know how well that translates into English though.
  4. Wasn't it supposed to be a new IP? Bioshock Infinity just doesn't roll off the tongue, anyway. I could imagine that it was initiated as an original IP, but 2K wanted to squeeze out the Bioshock license so they shoe-horned it into it.
  5. After it had been extensively retooled by Bio... ME1 is more of an actual UE game... Source might be sharpening their crossplatform support, now that Gabe swallowed the humble PS3 pie... Just an older version of UE3. ME2 uses UE3.5
  6. Rumours say Project Icarus is Bioshock Infinity. Click And it's set in the clouds.
  7. Explain "default stuff". Mass Effect 2 looked great and ran smooth.
  8. UE3 and Source don't suck, but yeah, more variety couldn't hurt. I think Carmack hinted that Doom 4 (announced later today) will look 3-times (lol what?) better than Rage, courtesy to the focus on indoor levels.
  9. No one's certain, but I could imagine that it does offer preload some days prior launch, since it's a Steamworks title. If you preorder, you also get Mafia 1 for free.
  10. id software not planning new IP for ten years A new singleplayer Quake in Quake 1 style with idTech5 would be nice.
  11. I love it how the PS3 users are whining on the 2kforums about bad frame rates. Good to see the PC version is well optimized, even though I have to do without PhysX.
  12. That's a good fit. Arkane is an excellent developer, and Bethesda is an excellent publisher. It's win-win for the customer.
  13. But DA2 is turning into Dragon Effect, so it begs the question why a game that garnered success on its on values needs to imitate another. It's a natural evolution. Just as JE evolved sligthly from Kotor, DA2 evolves slightly from ME. You can't expect that they put the old 2004ish gameplay of DAO into DA2.
  14. Oh-ha. Ubisoft still doing PC exclusive games? That's a new one. It will, of course, be ruined by it's draconian DRM anyway so I'll pass.
  15. What is all this nitpicking about ME2/DA sales? Who knows the real numbers, and why should we bother? Bottom line is: Both games were a success, and both games get a sequel(s).
  16. It's not System Shock 3 because I believe that the Take2 boss once mentioned that Project Icarus is an original IP.
  17. Played the demo, it's a bit short, but I liked what I saw. Driving feels natural, shooting and cover feels alright, graphics is good, it runs smooth, the setting is cool. So what's not to like?
  18. I think bioware already stated that the reason why they remove the isometric view is for performance reason. If you zoom out, you have to calculate more polygons plus more textures are visible thus they must be loaded. In DAO that was pretty much a non-issue since the game wasn't so power-hungry.
  19. Bioware's focus was always on consoles, since Kotor. That shouldn't come as a surprise. Releasing DA as PC only would have been a suicide mission.
  20. I think they're announcing it on the 12th. The same day btw when Doom 4 will be announced.
  21. Quite steep for a game that looks like an indie-production.
  22. Hmm, Summoner back then really showed some potential, so I'll keep an eye on this. At least I expect more than from this pathetic Big Huge Games RPG.
  23. I hope DS3 features a certain linearity, because I hate open world games. It's a total time waster.
