I like having good graphics just like any other guy, but seriously, I'm glad the times where you had to upgrade your Mainboard, CPU etc every 18 months are over. Not sure why people are always complaining about consoles holding back PC games. I think current games like Crysis 2, Portal 2, Starcraft 2 etc. look amazing.

I don't remember any time sensitive puzzles in Portal 2.

Portal was a nice and gimmicky game, but because of Valve employees reinforcing the team, Portal 2 was even better. L4D was boring though. I wish Valve would concentrate on making more singleplayer franchises.

MMOs are a total time waster anyway. I like to have a satisfying end in my games.

Are there actually any games in the near future that will require more than 1GB of memory on the graphic card? I am a little out of the loop here. Most games these days still run with 256MB video cards. 512MB is the standard, 1GB when you play in higher resolutions and 2GB only if you have a Bokishi-proved EyeInfinity 100" setup. In other words, 1GB for your res is plenty enough.

I can max it out with my rig. Now the game only needs to be actually good and I'm all set.

HL2 is also a 6,5 year old game. You think Valve hasn't learnt valuable lessons since then? I expect Episode 3 to be a masterpiece! Also, the interactive Super 8 demo in Portal 2 was pretty neat. Why they put it in there though is a mystery to me.

Nah. HL franchise is still Valve's best. Portal 2 was pretty good, but it's definitely not a GOTY contender.

2014 sounds about right, and I guess there will be another couple years overlapping for the old systems. If you start developing in 2013 for 360 you should still be able to release it in 2016.

Finished Portal 2 singleplayer. I liked it better than Portal 1, but the end song was kinda lame.

The PC is doing very strong. Almost every developer and publisher I care about always releases PC versions simultaniously.

Nintendo courting Rockstar for Wii 2 development Knowing Nintendo, they will probably go for a cheap console, so it will use obsolete hardware. Probably in line with 360/PS3 power so that 3rd party support is better. Having superior hardware though would mean more exclusives, and possibly less 3rd party support as a whole.

You mean, other than making money? Either way, been playing Portal 2 a bit, and it's fantastic. Great level design, great writing. It's a bit easy though so far.

Prey 2 IGN preview I like what I read. But why do they call it Prey 2 when it has nothing to do with the predecessor? Did Prey 1 actually sell so well?
