  1. MMOs are games developed by failed designers that could never bother learning how to use narrative in an intelligent manner, or even how to write a basic story. It's a number crunchers genre. And a complete waste of time.
  2. Assassin's Creeds. Guess I finally found a reason to try one of them. Too bad the negatives are still stacked against this one positive. Get the OST, avoid the games.
  3. 10 hours? I'm sorry Obsidian, but that's not enough. A game has to be at least 11 hours long to be worth a purchase.
  4. Too bad Quantic Dream didn't show their new title. Well, maybe Gamescom in August. I'm still hoping they'll one day make an Omikron 2 with open world, maybe some real gameplay and lots of nudity. Because I expect nudity from a French game.
  5. What a strange stance to take I'm not someone who writes a game off completely just because some pre-alpha footage doesn't look supa-dupa.
  6. It's the Australian branch (formely also part of Irrational games) that is working on XCOM, and yes, I enjoyed all their games, including Tribes. Also, Jordan Thomas is working on it as narrative designer, so it can't be bad. I hope.
  7. Looks like ****, but it will end up being a good game nonetheless, because I trust those guys at 2K Marin, they're a talented bunch.
  8. I thought Centurion was pretty cool. One of the better Neil Marshall movies. But then again I'm a sucker for gore and ancient Romans.
  9. Don't believe the reviewers. DNF is awesome.
  10. Well good thing at least the Germans put an end to this spook.
  11. "I know nothing about the gameplay apart from a couple tiny segments, but because I arbitrarily classify it as X, it must be Y and Z". The success of cod with its "linear tube levels" hasn't made it an ARPG while I was looking the other way, was it? :D Sorry pal, I was talking about proper first person shooters, not explosive on-rails Hollywood blockbuster "experiences".
  12. There are no RPGs these days anymore, only ARPGs. These games are still different from FPS/RPG hybrids a'la DX:HR.
  13. The demo gave me a very good impression of gameplay and mechanics. Now I only need to know whether the story and writing beyond the demo gets better, if this is confirmed, I'll buy it day 1.
  14. ME3 is not a shooter, because it's not designed around the same principles as you would design a shooter. RPGs, and ARPGs, are often designed like film sets with some more or less linear tube levels. A real shooter (first-person shooter) has different requirements for level design.
  15. DX:HR is not an RPG, it's a shooter with options.
  16. Britain was an Empire in name only. Because invading poor and defenseless countries an robbing them of their resources and manpower doesn't make you "superior". The only real Empires back in the 19th century were USA, Germany and Japan, because they did all this without the exploitation of other countries.
  17. So, you Brits don't consider yourself European? What then? Sorry to disappoint you, but you're not special.
