  1. good golly gee whiz mccarthy is a terrible, terrible gameday coach. his total lack of football situational awareness cost us that game, nothing more. off with his head and all that. you might be an amazing coach at everything else every other day of the week, but your idiotic decision-making during actual games has cost us wins.
  2. Axiom Verge. Today I discovered I'm not a metroidvania-type person.
  3. If nothing else, it helps keep the thread active and maybe encourages others to make lists,
  4. Ditto for me (no particular order): Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn (2000) - BioWare The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (1998) - Nintendo Undertale (2015) - Toby Fox S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl (2007) - GSC Game World MOTHER aka Earthbound Beginnings/Zero (1989) - Ape Banjo-Kazooie (1998) - Rare Diablo II (2000) - Blizzard North Dark Souls (2011) - FromSoftware Planescape: Torment (1999) - Black Isle Studios Terranigma (1995) - Quintet Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy Kong's Quest (1995) - Rare Bloodborne (2015) - FromSoftware MOTHER 2 aka Earthbound (1994) - Ape Half-Life (1998) - Valve Corporation Portal (2007) - Valve Corporation Super Mario World (1990) - Nintendo Age of Empires II (1999) - Ensemble Studios Neverwinter Nights II: Mask of the Betrayer (2007) - Obsidian Entertainment Life Is Strange (2015) - Dontnod Entertainment Super Mario Bros. 2 (Japan) aka Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels (USA) (1986) - Nintendo I actually had five more entries I could've used, but I couldn't really think of any other games that I also love that really felt deserving of being on a top 100 list based on some criteria of offering a complete, unique, and very fun experience. I already had like 3-4 entries from the same series, too...
  5. Wouldn't count on it - Jerry utterly loves that guy, and you guys were the #1 seed in the NFC last year. It's probably gonna take 2-3 years of really sucking for that to happen, and with the amount of talent you guys have on at least the offensive side of the ball, that'll probably never happen.
  6. In my experience, that crap is usually a pretty good deterrent against buying the game itself, nevermind the season pass.
  7. https://www.nytimes.com/2017/11/23/us/politics/flynn-mueller-russia-trump.html Word on the street is that Flynn may be flipping for Mueller against Trump as a result of Mueller targeting his son for various crimes he was involved with alongside his father.
  8. Dak seems like a very different QB when defenses don't play the RB anymore, especially when the OL is beat up like it is. Have to learn and get better - RBs have a short half-life in this league, and his star RB won't be around for forever.
  9. In other news, in addition to disbanding net neutrality laws, the FCC will also block states from implementing their own versions of net neutrality. https://www.theverge.com/2017/11/22/16691344/fcc-preempt-block-state-local-net-neutrality-laws

  11. Yeah, right after Rodgers went down, I made the Chiefs my pragmatic choice to cheer for as the Raiders looked out of it, too...and then they immediately lost the next four games. Uh, whoops?
  12. lol @ packers
  13. Don't think I've played through a game that was released this year. So for games that I played for the first time this year, I think it'd be a toss up between Life Is Strange and MOTHER 2/Earthbound, with the advantage probably going to Life Is Strange for its novelty (e: also, I think I'd have to give a nod to Broken Age as well for being a truly excellent point and click adventure game). There are games that I eventually plan to play that came from this year that might get a proper "best of 2017" from me, though, and they are: Super Mario Odyssey, Cuphead, Hollow Knight, Sonic Mania, and Life Is Strange: Before the Storm. (e): Actually, I did play through a few indie games on Steam that were released this year, now that I think about it. OLDTV was probably the best of the lot (and it's free, funnily enough), but I would hesitate to give it any best game awards.
  14. Erm, that's because it's not a real list, . Half-Life 3 doesn't exist and probably won't ever, and Daikatana, Sonic '06, Superman 64, Alien: Colonial Marines, and the two CD-I Zelda games are considered among some of the worst/most disappointing games of all time.
  15. I don't think "silent protagonist" means "protagonist who isn't voiced" - it means "protagonist who has no dialogue". As such, the POE protagonist is not a silent protagonist. And yeah, protagonist voices have a tendency to suck, especially the stupid and grating early-to-mid-20s male voices that all sound the same.

  17. Autotune doesn't seem so bad if it was being used to make minor corrections...but if they were minor corrections, then clearly your singer is already half-decent and it's probably better to just let the minor issues stay rather than introduce unnatural (and usually quite noticeable) pitch shifts to a performance. So yeah, crappy. I like some forms of vocoding, but autotune and straight up pitch-shifts usually sound pretty bad.
  18. Fortunately, oil spills don't really happen anymore.
  19. food poisoning, happy happy joy joy
  20. Alien (1979). Besides a few technical problems (the chief, of course, being why the hell are Ripley's underwear so uncomfortably small ) and that horrible, idiot secondary female character, it was very good. Not sure what they were thinking by having her be as annoying as possible. I read that the actress hated the character, too, and she was apparently put in to "represent how the audience was feeling". Yeah, about that...
