    More lame than paying a hooker to -literaly- sleep next to you? :lol:

    Fallout 2 discribed you waking up with a ball-gag in your mouth and vauge, unpleasent memories of the night before. For it's time, that counts as getting laid.

     

    There were many more "fad to black" sceens then that one... :lol:

    Fallout 2, and Fallout if I remember correctly although it's been awhile. All number 3 has, as far as I can tell, is a whore who will spoon -no f.t.b.- with you for 120 caps. :lol:

     

    Well, I guess they wanted to stick to an M-rating. ;)

    Because he, correct me if am wrong about this, wants to finish it perchance?

     

    I got that, but why does he want to finish it if he finds it boring and thus not enjoyable? Is it for story reasons, or perhaps just for the sake of completionism? These are all valid reasons, but I am just interested what the reason is that compels him to continue playing it despite the lack of enjoyment.

     

    Because I always finish my games. But HL is wearing me down.

     

    OK, so it is the completionist reason. I have some of that in me myself, but not if I don't like the game.

     

    This game is terribly boring. No ambience, no mood, not nearly enough music, shooting is nothing special, storyline delivery is incredibly annoying and pointless (it looks like the game doesn't have anything to say), there is no hook at all, the humans look damn happy for an oppressed race, the environments are incredibly dull and boring, the animation is smooth but feels weird and the art design is just lame.

     

    A dull and boring shooter, but hey, people seem to like it.

     

    Also, Portal surpasses it in every possible way.

     

    Fair enough - I guess I will know not to buy Half Life 2! Not that I was planning to do so.

    BTW: Were you sarcastic about the romance? The others all seem to dispute that it's in the game.

    But didn't it irritate you? It could be funny if sparse, but if it appeared frequently, I would be pretty irritated.

     

     

    In Fallout 1 there was a scattering of easter eggs and goofy moments, but they were pretty rare. It was mostly a serious, albeit dark-humored, game. Most of the original devs departed after Fallout 1 and the team that ended up doing Fallout 2 ramped up the goofiness and easter eggs to a pretty absurd degree. The game became more of a referendum on pop culture than a serious game. It still had good moments, but everything ended up being a tad exessive.

     

    I see. Well, I guess this kind of thing can happen to anything when you try to introduce too much of something that is good only when used sparingly.

    Thanks for the clarification.

     

    Just out of interest: What are the minimum and the recommended requirements for the Storm of Zehir?

     

    My current system is:

     

    Pentium M 760 2GHz

    2 GB RAM

    ATI Mobility Radeon X700 with 128MB VRAM

    100GB HDD

     

    Will I be able to run it?

     

    I am actually getting a new computer around the end of the week, which can run it for sure, but I left my install disks back in Slovakia, so I will have to make do with my old computer, where the games are already installed, until I return back to my country.

    I missed that. Not having the game yet, I only skirt many of the posts to avoid spoilers of exact details.
