  1. For Eastern European Countries it is net win. You people in the US somehow do not understand, that if we would not be in EU, we would be now again Russian puppet states, and Putin would be knocking on your doors instead of Ukraine. The only thing which holds Politicians like Orban, Fico and their prosoviet neonazi lackies on leash is the EU hand. Even as shaky as it is, it is still better hand than hand of Putin...
  2. A google translation of Slovak text published today by one of the anti-mafia, anti-nazi investigative journalist from Slovakia (Radovan Bránik), which speaks little bit more about current situation, and why some of the Russian Troops, especially in the north and east seem halted. And the causes behind it. Part two should be published soon. He speaks about Russia making one of the craziest mistakes in modern warfare. Military communication, which is being intercepted by radio amateurs...
  3. Anyone wondering like me, why there was still no significant attack on the 64km long convoy, which seems to be stuck? It looks like they do not need to do anything about it yet. This tries to shed some info onto the matter. (click on Read the full conversation). TLDR - convoy is stuck in Mud, out of fuel (whole 17 kms of cars) and running out of food (allegedly, they were sent on their way with only three days worth of rations). It is highly probable, that they have also no power in car batteries. The commanding officer, who tried to "solve the situation" at the front convoy was killed by a sniper.
  4. They did not break ceasefire right away, but they broke it. Probably after two or three hours.
  5. Check the Raithe's BBC link, it is really sad. It is hard to believe, but here in Slovakia, they are people who does not believe it as well. And they even do not understand, that in most heavily bombarded south cities live a lot of ethnic Russians, so Russians are killing Russians to achieve their goals... Nothing has changed in the east in last few centuries
  6. The websites of Moskovsky Komsomolets, Forbes, Takie Dela, RBC, Peopletalk and many others, as well as the websites of Sberbank, VTB, Tinkoff, Pravo.ru are not working. Today, the websites of TASS, Kommersant, Fontanka and Izvestia, RBC, Buro 24/ 7, Chalk and E1 were hacked. source: Telegram post Ukrainian Defense Ministry: Russian soldiers surrendered to the Ukrainian army near the southeastern city of Zaporizhia Source: Al Jazeera
  7. Speaking of Mariupol
  8. Lot of Eastern NATO members have still a big piles of Russian stuff in their armies, so I presume this is being sent in a first wave. And a lot of Ukrainian have been trained in western tech, during last 8 years. I bet, that Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has sent some kind of list of stuff, which they deem most useful. At least that would be the most logical way of things to do.
  9. Denmark allows their volunteers to join Ukraine foreign brigade. And Hungary denies any weapon support for Ukraine. on the other hand Slovakia sends weapon support worth 4 millions EUR.
  10. Well, as you might have noticed, the first wave of Russian soldiers are consisting of inexperienced conscripts, and because of that, I kind of doubt, that even military leaders of these troops are the Russian tactical elites. These kind of mistakes seems logical, when taking this fact into consideration...
  11. @Zoraptor According to Al-Jazeera, the Russian progress form the south is halted for the time being. We'll see | Translated by Google Translate of course
  12. Same tactics was used by Chechens during the first Chechen war against Russia and it was pretty seuccessful, and Groznyi is much smaller city than Kharkov. Considering historical experiences, It is at very least plausible.
  13. From what I understood, the Ukrainian forces let Russian Army into center withour restitance just to ambush and easily defeat them. We'll see how it really goes. Still feeling very uneasy about any news from Kharkiv, due to colleague living there
  14. And this is interesting as well. Cyberwarfare at it finest allegedly Russian domestic stations have been hacked and are airing what is really happening at Ukraine I'll be glad if anyone can find trustworthy news in medias, which can confirm or deny this information. I found so far only some tweets.
  15. Allegedly one of the top Chechen warlords have been killed in action near Hostomel...
  16. Apparently Anonymous got their hands on 200GB of data of communication between Belarus weapon manufacturer and Russia. A big chunk of the data are allegedly people paid by the Russia to spread misinformation in other countries. If this is true, there will be a lot of "fun" going around in the next few days in central and eastern europe, and a lot of salty people trying to run away from Slovakia. Being an agent of enemy is punishable up to life sentence in Slovakia... The tweet is in Czech language.
  17. Apparently Russia asked Kazakhstan for military intervention at Ukraine, and Kazakhstan denied they request. I hope that this is true.
  18. Hostomol is a strategic airport for both armies, most of the news around it should be considered as propaganda. The latest news are, that Russian paratroopers got it now IIRC... I really do not know in what to believe in some instances
  19. I wish that would be an entertainment for me as well... I am having work colleagues in Ukraine and one of them in Kharkov... I feel like sitting on needles, every time new info gets here... And the closest attack was approx 180 kms away from our borders...
  20. i found the source, we'll see. The person is apparently UA press secretary?
  21. Apparently Zelenskyi and Putin agreed to have talks. They are currently picking a site. I hope Zelenskyi would not drop guard and agree for a cup of tea in Minsk...
  22. I know many of the Americans would probably not like to hear it, but the best what Europe could do now, is to strike deal with Iran, to get their gas instead of Russia's. If EU and NATO, can trade with no hesitation with Saudis, they can trade with Iran as well... There is absolutely no difference... From what I know, Iranian's at least are not in the last 10 years waging wars against they neighbour like Saudis in Yemen... it would at least show little bit of willingness from EU to actually help Ukraine...
  23. That is also true, but as said above a lot of men are voluntarily going back to Ukraine from Europe, including almost all of Ukrainian doctors working in Slovakia. EDIT: OFC a lot of men != all of men.
  24. Italian prime minister Mario Draghi successfully secured a carve out for Italian luxury goods from the EU's package of economic sanctions against Nato, EU dip tells me. 'Apparently selling Gucci loafers to oligarchs is more of a priority than hitting back at Putin,' source adds. EDIT: Can anybody here confirm, or this is some kind of Onion type news?
