  1. I prefer more than just maps. Maps are the least useful to me.
  2. Which is pretty much why the only time I use summons is in the big fights that last a while. Which means, not all that often. With a full party anyway. Edit: there's some items in the game that can allow others to summon a specific thingie in fights (quick slot item) but they tend to be expensive that I've seen far. Although I think I found one of them vs. bought - I can't remember. Maybe it was a reward. My memory is horrible. BTW how does one put stuff in spoiler tags using this editor? Nevermind, figured it out, it's under "Special" bbCode. Odd...
  3. Actually the web info is pretty thin, in particulay the wiki and the gamepressure stuff. These forums are the best sources for info yet, and even so it's pretty sketchy and thin.
  4. Optimization hasn't been an Obsidian's priority, but this is an area worthy of attention. The loading associated with all the back and forth is getting irritating and I haven't gone further than Defiance Bay.
  5. I see you're just as dumb and trollish as ever. Learning new things seems to be outside your vocabulary.
  6. Also when you up the difficulty don't you lose the extra camping supplies you already have? That's keeping me from trying it out.
  7. You get XP for experience (i.e. learning new things). Makes perfect sense to me. BTW I only get about 100xp for new areas...
  8. Unfortunately the strategy guide has some pretty serious errors and omissions, like stating that you can't save skill points for future level ups, when apparently you can, and actually MUST to be able to reach the skill levels. It's also missing nonviolent solutions to the lighthouse and theorems quests. I'm becoming dissappointed in the quality of the content. Talents aren't even sorted alphbetically. Simple stuff that should have been easy to do right. It looks pretty, though...
  9. Tempted to go back, and undo her demise, but I'll just accept the consequences of my superior tactics.
  10. I accidently hit the console key a couple of times. Hope I haven't buggered the achievements.
  11. Not only that, companions' inventory disappears as well. Nasty bug!
  12. Ah, yes I seem to remember that now in one of the updates. Thanks for the reminder!
  13. I live in California (imagine) and it's been 5 days now since I've been playing without the promised physical goods. Is this a Paradox screw up? The point of delaying the disc was to get the physical goods out to us in time for the release. They obviously failed that. No email, just silence. Boo hoo.
  14. Well , if you want to have reasonable discussion, first start with rereading my posts, and compare them with what you are implying I said. If not, then just continue to troll on your own.
  15. For someone who has managed to misquote me, create false strawmen, and completely miss my points, you're roleplaying an antogonistic troll pretty well.
  16. That wasn't the point, though. It still a non-linear step between rest based spell regaining vs end of encounter regaining. Especially if there is no where safe to sleep, which is a common challenge players have to deal with.
  17. That's one game (NWN 2), in one particular area, on one particular path. NOT, "most opponents" Not all opponents are thieves with improved evasion. That's a very special case, and not true for all enemies. All enemies have defensive strengths and weaknesses. But they aren't all the same.
  18. if, speaking in DnD 3.5 terms, by the time you get the unlimited fireballs, most opponents have improved evasion and can easily get away unharmed, it's unimportant if you can cast one or 10 a day. the nature of the spell, prevents you from using it more than 1 or 2 times per fight, due to friendly fire, and even then the chance to actually do damage is small. Huh? What games were you playing that enemies could evade all fireball damge? That's never happened to me, and I've played all the 3.5 games. Seems you're making stuff up here...
  19. The question is whether or not unlimited spelling will advance to highesr level spels. Unlimitted 3.5 cantrips (i.e. level 0) would have no risk of unbalancing. But spammable fireballs or somesuch (i.e. level 3) could easily be unbalancing.
  20. Curious to know if that will extend beyond first level spells. That'll add even more complication to doing proper balancing. But, personally, balancing is the last thing I worry about in a single player game, but designers seem to be obsessesed with it. It can be a huge resource drain, if the system isn't simple and linear.
  21. The rest vs cooldown property for each spell (or level assignment) seems artificial and unnatural enough that I imagine they will need to iterate the design a few times by testing the whole campaign and rebalancing (shifting across the line) where needed. Unless of course the level 1 spells are so weak (or have no utility) that noone hardly uses them beyond the beginning of the campaign (like cantrips in NWN2). Then it would be mostly Vancian with swappable spell books.
  22. More likely they've spread themselves too thin with too many projects occupying the same people.
  23. I'd prefer not to base my input on speculation. With no additional information on the impact to schedule and QA/testing, I vote no. If they can keep on schedule and maintain the quality, I vote yes. But I've already thrown enough money at this kickstarter, and want to see results before they get any more $$$.
  24. Hmm, yes, that's a reasonable assumption now that I re-read the original request. Given that interpretation being true, I'd say "no" to more stretch goals. Start a new kickstarter expansion instead. Focus on finishing and getting out the door what's already on the table for the current kickstarter, unless Obsidian thinks baselined exploration and companions are insufficient.
