Haven't done anything today basically, just enjoying the *amazing* weather we've had. Sitting out in the sun, reading Storm of Swords. It's been reaaaally nice actually.

This is what Nathaniel has to say about the control scheme over at somethingawful:
-
Bad news indeed. Best of luck to everyone involved!

Wonder if they'll squeeze out some info/a trailer on the DLC before the week is over or if they'll hold off the announcement until all patches are live.
-
Yeah, you can definitely see the mouse cursor there. Hard to tell exactly how it feels to play of course but the player doesn't seem to have any problems controlling it at least. Nice video, though of familiar areas. Though we get a look at some artwork of Jeyne (I assume that's her at least). And the German voiceovers sound pretty good actually, hehe!

An interview at IGN where they had the readers to ask questions, worth a read: http://pc.ign.com/articles/116/1162321p1.html On PC functionality:

Character reveal trailer
Starwars replied to Starwars's topic in Dungeon Siege III: General Discussion
Pretty sweet. I really like the switching back between human and fire elemental form, it's kinda bad ass. I think the only thing I know is that I won't use Lucas on my first playthrough... So either Anjali, Katarina or Reinhart. -
While there are no specifics mentioned, Nathan seems confident in the PC control scheme in the AustralianGamer interview. Specifically, mentioning that they're not just "approximating" the way a controller works on the keyboard, but developing a control scheme that makes sense for the PC. Really hope they can come through on that.

Offical Website updates/expanded
Starwars replied to C2B's topic in Dungeon Siege III: General Discussion
I hope all this story stuff will be thoroughly explored in the game for those of us who want it. It seems pretty intriguing. -
So I hear those mature folks at CDProjekt are gonna feature Triss in an upcoming Playboy magazine.

Really enjoyed the first episode. It was a bit of a mouthful to get a grip on all the characters in the books at first as well so I imagine it's the same with the series now for the people who haven't read the books in the first place. But very enjoyable I think, certainly smaller things to nitpick about if you've read the books but overall they did a really great job of bringing it to the screen.

I like Obsidian and most of their games but I have to say that one thing that's immensely tiring to read is the constant bickering about their company policies, whether the company is doing well or not, the talk that oh god OEI better shape up or they'll end up like Troika etc etc. This bickering has been going on ever since people found out that KOTOR2 had a large amount of cut content, and it's the same talk over and over again. They've been going for 8 years now and they are still releasing games. Play the games, enjoy them or not, but let's mourn the loss of Obsidian on the day they actually throw in the towel. Then we can also speculate wildly on what publisher was the evil guy, how crappy OEI programmers were for having all those bugs, how *amaaaaaazing* <insert game here> would've been if not for the cut content. Btw, Arcanum, MotB and Fallout NV are some of the best RPGs ever and everyone who disagrees can EAT MY SHORTS oh yeah r00fles.

After completing a replay of MotB, I'm gonna do SoZ as well. Just started up a new party, and ready to kick some butt. Once I finish that and once the patch comes out, I think I'll start up a new character for New Vegas to be ready for any DLC that might be coming soon.

Reinhart developer walkthrough videos from GT

Reinhart is also awesome because each time I see his name, it will remind me of Django Reinhardt. -
Reinhart developer walkthrough videos from GT
Starwars replied to funcroc's topic in Dungeon Siege III: General Discussion
The Gametrailers player have some issues sometimes. I know I don't watch videos in full-screen, they're always choppy for some reason. Think the soundtrack is mostly similar in that high, female voice singing throughout which is sorta reminiscant of the NWN2 theme. Never found the vanilla NWN2 tracks particularly good though (there were one or two exceptions) so I hope DS3 is a lot better overall. -
Reinhart developer walkthrough videos from GT
Starwars replied to funcroc's topic in Dungeon Siege III: General Discussion
These are great, really hope to see more videos like this if they're gonna show off the other characters as well. Much better in creating an overview of how the game/character plays and I think Matt does a great job of explaining the stuff. The game looks really nice and a lot of fun to play actually. Think these might've pushed me over the edge to pre-order. -
Character reveal trailer
Starwars replied to Starwars's topic in Dungeon Siege III: General Discussion
I think the trailers have all been good (Katarina has already been discussed, but it manages to make her character fun to play). But I don't think they're doing a great job of presenting the game from its best-looking side so to speak. I think the game looks extremely gorgeous in some of the top-down stuff we've seen (that machinima preview comes to mind) but it doesn't look as good when zoomed in. But yeah, I think it's still worth it in terms of introducing the characters. I'm pretty impressed that they, aside from Lucas perhaps, all feel rather non-conventional which is great. I was re-reading an old interview with George Ziets today (because I just finished a replay of MotB) and the stuff he says about fantasy games and settings is just bang-on, and I *really* hope he has brought that kind of thinking to Dungeon Siege 3 as well. -
Character reveal trailer
Starwars replied to Starwars's topic in Dungeon Siege III: General Discussion
Must say, he looks pretty interesting and not at all what I was expecting actually. Hm... Not sure at all which character to choose for my first playthrough. -
I had texture loading as well but it takes like max two seconds before everything is loaded properly, and that's in the bigger scenes. But texture loading has never been an issue with me personally. I think AP looks fine most of the time. Technically it could be a lot better but I'm one of the people who really enjoyed the visual direction of the game, especially the characters. It's a shame that the opening areas are really the worst though, the Greybox is undeniably boring looking.

Arcanum is in my top 5 RPGs. Sure there is some bad stuff (the combat could certainly do with a tune-up) but it's probably my fav game just in terms of making up a crazy character concept and go for it. Screw balance, balance is overrated. And being able to actually roleplay is sadly underrated. Awesome, awesome game.

Wonder how long it takes for STEAM to verify patches or whatever they do...
-
How you like playing explosives? I think they're fun to use but I haven't really made a character geared towards it.
-
Hm, looks it's almost about time to start up another character then... What skills to focus on this time, hmhmhm.

Dungeon Siege III Art
Starwars replied to Dimitri Berman's topic in Dungeon Siege III: General Discussion
I know you're the character artist Dimitri, but would it be possible to get some wallpaper-esque art of locations from the game? Not sure if that's "authorized" yet but would be great to see.
