It doesn't matter whether or not we eventually have the capability to become "immortal", if such a thing is even possible, but if we should do it in the first place. I don't really know how to explain this clearly, but I'm willing to give it a go. What really matters is if we will have the means or resources to infinitely keep several billion people alive. That includes food, water, shelter...hell, we'd most likely have to find another planet or two suitable for human colonization. We've already got population problems, and there are millions starving daily... Do we really want to sustain all these people indefinitely, if we were even capable? The way I see it, we're meant to die for a reason, and it may seem like a neat thing to live forever, but the consequences......they're very real. Just thinking about it, wouldn't we have to impose laws regarding children? If you can even have any or not? ...Personally, I like the idea of having a child or two one day...

Part of my soul just died from that Mr. Legolas. ) On a lighter note. (Give it up for hypocrisy) Brand New - "Sic Transit Gloria...Glory Fades" Keep the noise low. She doesn't wanna blow it. Shaking head to toe while your left hand does "the show me around." Quickens your heartbeat. It beats me straight into the ground. You don't recover from a night like this. A victim, still lying in bed, completely motionless. A hand moves in the dark to a zipper. Hear a boy bracing tight against sheets barely whisper, "This is so messed up." Upon arrival the guests had all stared. Dripping wet and clearly depressed, he'd headed straight for the stairs. No longer cool, but a boy in a stitch, unprepared for a life full of lies and failing relationships. (Up the stairs: the station where the act becomes the art of growing up.) He keeps his hands low. He doesn't wanna blow it. He's wet from head to toe and his eyes give her the up and the down. His stomach turns and he thinks of throwing up. But the body on the bed beckons forward and he starts growing up. The fever, the focus. The reasons that I had to believe you weren't too hard to sell. Die young and save yourself. The tickle, the taste of... It used to be the reason I breathed but now it's choking me up. Die young and save yourself. She hits the lights. This doesn't seem quite fair. Despite everything he learned from his friends, he doesn't feel so prepared. She's breathing quiet and smooth. He's gasping for air. "This is the first and last time," he says. She fakes a smile and presses her hips into his. He keeps his hands pinned down at his sides. He's holding back from telling her exactly what it really feels like. He is the lamb, she is the slaughter. She's moving way too fast and all he wanted was to hold her. Nothing that he tells her is really having an effect. He whispers that he loves her, but she's probably only looking for... (Up the stairs: the station where the act becomes the art of growing up.) So much more than he could ever give. A life free of lies and a meaningful relationship. He keeps his hands pinned down at his sides. He waits for it to end and for the aching in his guts to subside. The fever, the focus. The reasons that I had to believe you weren't too hard to sell. Die young and save yourself. The tickle, the taste of... It used to be the reason I breathed but now it's choking me up. Die young and save yourself. Up the stairs: the station where the act becomes the art of growing up. The fever, the focus. The reasons that I had to believe you weren't too hard to sell. Die young and save yourself. The tickle, the taste of... It used to be the reason I breathed but now it's choking me up. Die young and save yourself.

Do you like the revolution controller?
LoneWolf16 replied to ShadowPaladin V1.0's topic in Computer and Console
You do know there was a his and hers game for the PS2 dont you ? Never made it outside of Japan of course. Basically it came with a device which plugged into port 2. Depending on how skilfully you played (it was a shooter) the device would give of rythmic pulses the better you play ,the more the device responds and no I'm not kidding. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You've got to be kidding. A whole new reason to love the Japanese developers. (If there were any to begin with) And the controller. I like the concept. How that concept is executed in the privacy of my own home, however, remains to be seen. -

Well, I'll pose a few questions...if only for the sake of argument. Why waste the moments we've got with pointless attempts to lengthen the time we have here on earth? Why eat "right", get the "required" amount of sleep, and avoid long walks in the rain? (Personally, I love doing the latter) Why spend our lives angry, and bitter because we can only eat asparagus for a month? Why not gorge ourselves? Why not enjoy every moment we have instead of enduring self-imposed starvation? Why not be happy with the time we have...use it to its fullest? In moderation of course....have a bit of self-control, you know.

And therein lies the problem.

I argue for the sake of winning an argument. Does that count? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No. Not at this time...

I hate ultra-clingy people. I hate people who talk entirely too much, on nothing in particular, just for the sake of hearing themself speak, expect you to listen, then basically blow off anything you say in response, and ignore you until there's an opportunity for them to open their mouths again. I hate people who argue for the sake of arguing. I hate people who have no patience. I hate people who can't laugh at things, take a joke, or distinguish between blatant sarcasm and sincerity. I hate kids, and the parents of said kids, at restaraunts who can't shut the hell up for any length of time. (I'd like to eat in peace...without the "Billy, NO, stop throwing food! Billy, NO, eat your vegetables! Billy, NO, stop whining!" and of course, the incessant, high-pitched to the point of glass-shattering, crying.) I hate people who lack common sense. I hate people who adamantly claim their position on something is right, even when they were proven wrong just seconds beforehand. Own up to it, damn it. I hate people who use the words "God works in mysterious ways". Bull****, you just can't think up a reason for what happened! I hate narcissistic, arrogant, self-righteous, pompous, holier-than-thou windbags who believe themselves and their ideals to be superior to every thing else out there. I hate that little ****y smile people get when they realize you've stumbled, or made an error in something...when they realize there's an opening for a nice quick jab. I hate people on AIM who argue with you, make one last stinging point, and make sure to lace it with guilt and anything else they can to make you feel like hell afterwards, then sign off immediately to prevent a response. And...and.............ok, I'm hated out right now. There are more, rest assured, but not right now.

Runs pretty damn well on my X850XT PE 256MB on all max settings....though it does tend to lag a bit when you get into big firefights. So many sparks...so many explosions...so many chunks of people. Joy! :D

Um, no. I wouldn't be able to have a job in Orlando if I wasn't 18, genius. And how old are you, 8? Cause that's how mature you seem to be. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Why not just post a pic? Ya know...prove it. That's not to say I don't believe you, I do, just that a bit of tangible evidence would probably help your case. If you haven't posted it already, that is.

Glorious mullet lonewolf! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> ::cough:: :"> Not a mullet, I have really long bangs, that's everything slicked back. The front's long enough to cover my eyes, and does. Helps me sleep during classes without being noticed

Be a man! Bottle it all up inside until you lash out at someone who asks you to pass the salt. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Why'd I get a kick out of that? Oh, and here's a pic, not that anybody cares Female friend of mine...for whatever reason...seems to think I look good with my hair slicked back.....and I'm learning not to argue with her, lest there be yelling and guilting Though I still retain a healthy level of self doubt. Ok, beyond healthy. Overly healthy. Unhealthy.

What movie has come out in the last two years that surpases the stunning effects used in the LotR movies though? There is only a certain level of realism that one can achieve, and that has already happened in film - with the right budget of course. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Give it a while, new films do have a tendency to come out now and again. " <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, and it's been two years, Sherlock. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That was uncalled for And does Spiderman 2 (2004) count? SW: EP III (2005)? Or Serenity (2005...slightly cheesy, but still pretty impressive)? Or even look at game trailers...many of those out-do the next-gen games we've seen so far. Agreed. A determined and skilled team with adequate time and resources can produce an FMV or CGI sequence that could easily beat the current next-gen games. (Inluding Project Offset...which I've been following quite closely...and Gears Of War)

Weren't KOTOR 2's FMVs rendered in the game's engine? Save for a few, which actually weren't, and did look better than the in-game visuals.......an opinion, to be sure, but whatever point I was trying to make still remains...I guess.

Um...the last of the LOTR and Matrix movies were out in like 2003. Certainly, FMV technology in movies has advanced beyond those particular examples in recent times... Games evolve, and so does CGI for all our blockbusters...unless I'm mistaken.

Um...judging from screenshots, and what I've seen of most next gen games, including Gears of War...Blizzard's cinematics in WC III are either on par with or still manage to out do most, if not all of them.
