  1. If a game is fully voiced subtitles go off. Having subtitles and voice are redundent if you are not deaf.
  2. Ames, Iowa. We have a Gamestop and Gamerz, but the closest EB is in Des Moines.
  3. I hate it when you make me agree with Volourn, but you're wrong. Considering how many times you claim to have played it, I'm surprised you keep saying this. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Okay what is the other option then and how do you get it? Like I said, I have had the only option of killing him regardless of good or evil.
  4. I believe the Obsidian peeps when they said its been made. They have more credibility than LA, that's for sure.
  5. In the end they are still just mods. I didn't spend my money to play mods. In any case Bioware has improved a bit since NWN but still have not returned not BG2 quality.
  6. Well, here's hoping you don't pull a Sony Bono.
  7. The problem is that Obsidian made a sequel for a game that needed nor warranted a sequel storywise. KotOR was complete in of itself and trying to do a sequel in such a way, let alone give it a cliff hanger ending, was doomed to fail from the start. That is what KotOR 2 is, a failure.
  8. I would love to see a Fallout styled game done in Silent Storm's game engine.
  9. Thing is when I play computer and console games I do so because I want to be alone. When I game with people I do so PnP style. MMORPGs and games like NWN are worthless to me. I play CRPGs like one who reads a 400 to 1000 page novel. A game needs to have a solid and long single player game in order for it to be worth my time and money.
  10. Its not like Obsidian has any choice in matter anyway. Its up to LA if the patch is released or not.
  11. I tend to be conservative on the rules systems. It has to feel like a RPG when playing the game and that means a rock solid use of the character's abilities and not the Players, while at the same time I like to see more innovation in the story telling side of things.
  12. I have played the game many times. The only option in each time was to kill Li.
  13. 3 ways? HA! There is the Open Palm path and the Closed Fist path and that was it and in any case there was only one way to win the game, killing Li. Tutu is a good mod.
  14. Now if Jade Empire had Fallout role play opportunities, such as real multiple ways of solving quests, noncombat options to defeat opponents, and the such then I would be impressed by JE. JE is a good game, no doubt about it, but nothing impressive.
  15. Not that it matters any more anyway. I plan on going to Gamerz here in Ames. A very nice place with a good staff and a large selection of games, new and used.
  16. One good way and one evil way isn't all that great or that far greater than BG. With the amount of time between BG and JE advances in story telling in a Bioware CRPG has been downright stagnant.
  17. Better role playing? I have to disagree. Just because a game has "conversation skills" does not make it have better role playing.
  18. UFO Aftermath for one, Silent Storm for two.
  19. At that point God stopped responding to me.
  20. *URK*
  21. There are plenty of good European games. Volourn is being particularly obtuse about it, but if Volourn wasn't he wouldn't be Volourn.

Batman Begins did a good job I think. If they keep the same style and presentation for later movies it could end of a good series. I do agree that Burton did a wonderful job presenting Batman over Schumacher.
  23. If we have another Ice Age I think people would prefer to have hurricanes instead of perpetual snow and ice. I know I would.
  24. The engine is not to blame indeed, but the reliance on total voice over is. I prefer a balance between option one and two. I don't need nor want total voice over. Voice overs should only be used in important scenes, not every single scene with every single character.
  25. Its not that people not believing in Global Warming, it is disputed that Human industry is the cause of the global warming. Earth's environment is a delicate system that goes in cycles. It goes through warming trends and it has gone through cooling tends over the 3 to 4 billion years of its existance. Certainly we need to curb our use of fossil fuels, if not for the environment for conservation. Fossil fuels are finite. What we need to keep mind is that we are indeed insignificant to the power of nature and not let our pride and arrogance get in the way of common sense.
