  1. *Hades pounces on peterpaulrubens and shoves a kitchen sink down his throat* Whoops, wrong pocket. *Hades pounces on Petay and shoves a donut down his throat* Much better. *tee hee*
  2. When did I ever said JE was crap? Show me, Meshugger, otherwise don't attribute quotes to me unless they are actually real quotes that you can link to.
  3. I hate the damn Werewolf. Once was enough for that game. Here my vampire was killing uber vamps, far beyond the power of a werewolf according to the rules system, and Troika, in their infinite stupidity, made it next to invulnerable. Makes no sense and it was poor game design. Rules need to be consistant otherwise the game becomes a joke.
  4. I think my favorite part of the game was when I had full celerity fighting a Giovanni with Celerity in the Giovanni mansion. Everything went so Matrix like. Including the mid air fighting.
  5. Here is one question I have. How moddable is it? Its going to be the contemporary of Oblivion and NWN 2, which both game will be highly moddable. The more moddable a game i th longer the shelf life it has. Just look at BG 2 and NWN 1.
  6. World domination through boobs? DEAR GOD! We need to stop Dolly Parton RIGHT NOW!
  7. He was a blond haired Arsefaced Rimmer wannabe git.
  8. Sheesh, that Orlando guy is in everything.
  9. I also have a strong belief in letting discussions run their own course. If the thread derails then it derails. besides we are still disussing Gothic 3 for the most part, Alan. Now if we were talking about that Buffy action game that showed up on the X Box that would be a derailment.
  10. My PnP background is irrelevant. When I play a RPG I want to play my character. I want to be able to develop his or her personality. I want to be able to determine what he or she knows both prior and after the campaign starting point. For me to really get into a game's story I need to feel a part of it and that can only really be achieved if I can make my own character.
  11. Technically... Yes, but I like discussing these sort of things. Right or wrong, it is the argument itself that matters.
  12. German. Hey, I'm part German.
  13. Obsidian needs to make a creepy hentai CRPG.
  14. I count character creation as a part of gameplay. I don't think I can play a game nowadays that didn't have some form of character creation which allows me to create and customize my character in appearance, gender, and skills. To do so would be like going backwards.
  15. They aren't CRPGs therefore irrelevant.
  16. Um... how is it smarter to have no control of your chracter's origins?
  17. That doesn't make any sort of sense. You are starting out as a novice character, a zero, a nobody. If you already gone through 2 large scale adventures I don't thikn that would be the case.
  18. Not impressed.
  19. You know, in vanilla Oblivion there are no chainmail bikinis for women adventurers. Just thought you should know, Morgoth.
  20. It makes a huge difference to me because you could make a character completely different from the base novice you get in the game. The beginning character is a novice fighter. You have the basic skills of a fighter and can do so decently enough. Now what if you use those beginning "points" on a different direction. Lets say a novice thief. By changing that direction on how the base points are "spent" you change the whole concept and starting play of the character for a novice thief would not be able to do straight on fights as well as a novice fighter. Different character options allows greater flexibility of gameplay and greater replayability.
  21. You start with the character already made. The points have already been spent for you, Morgoth. The base character in Gothic is the fighter. All the character creation is done already and lined up to force you to play a novice fighter. Points spent, buddy, and you didn't have a say how they are spent. How much shoe horning can there be for a basic choice of your character being male or female? Its been a choice in character creation for freaking decades.
  22. *hands over Crashgirl's metal bikini* I was just polishing it for you. REALLY!
  23. What sort of merits? Gothic 2 had no character creation, awkward controls, stilted voice acting and what I played of it a pretty lame story.
