The monk uses lightning fast hand movements to redirect incoming melee attacks for a short time. This effect ends early if the monk moves. But in reality, the description should be ... if the monk walk. The reflecting effect is not cleared with other "moving" way, like Flagellant's path, Leap (Barbarian or Boots), Escape, Shadowing Beyond (Rogue & Priest of Skaen), Dimensional Shift, Brilliant Departure (Wizard) etc. It is easy to prevent any movement from the follow of an attacked ennemy that move with the Instrument of Pain. As sage or contemplative, it is easy too to prolong the effect, and to move. I had some fun with this cool effect combined to Citzal's spirit Lance & Raised Torment (least unstable coil mean free move for this build), instrument of pain and Wall of Draining. In melee, the survivability is multiplicated by infinite as long the effect is active and the monk's DPS get a nice additive bonus to + ennemies DPS ; Dimentional Shift when some ennemies are aggroing an ally is a trully Chekmate for them.

These abilities are in some points similares : the target is hit with a powerful blow, while enemies in a cone behind the target take some damage. The differences are in first view the bonus damage (+25% for Raised Torment, +200% for Power Strike) against the primary target, the afflictions involved, the pen bonus for Power Strike, the Interrupt on hit for Raised Torment, the coast in ressources, and the level reach for learning. Both are available for multiclass, in this case with a Wizard. But there is an "hired" difference : the source that triggering the cone. It is the weapon for Power Strike, and nothing for Raised Torment. That can seems obscur but the area of effect from WotEP or Citzal's Spirit Lance are not treated as weapon but only the hit on the principale target. That mean while Power Strike with the lance apply the first effect (stun and bonus) to everyone in the Aoe but trigger only one cone, Raised Torment proc a cone for each target in the AoE. That also mean when empowered with the Least Unstable Coil, Raised Torment give one inspiration per ennemy in the Lance's Aoe. Power Strike give only 2 ( for the primary target hit and the proc).

SC Monk with Effort stack very quickly Resonances, from scrolls (binding Web's pulses, Great Maelstrom's Pulses, Storm of Holy Fire's Pulses etc) or Raised Torment, or WotW, or Mortars, etc It is a little bit OP and everybody know that you like OP stuffs that's right Since I find the Least Unstable Coil multi-proc with Her revenge one or two years ago, my game turn into a Build-Testing game however in regular path, I never use the OP stuff like Temporal cocoon on myself (but on ennemies) : Effort combined with Brillant Departure and Ajaamut's Cloak for perma-stun is more my taste than "killing everyone at the combat start" with Avenging Storm but it is exactely like than Slayer's Claw for me : the Seeker's Prize !

The best way to illuminate a room (Skaen's Challenge) seems to, with a Shared Nightmare cipher, trigger one or two seals from the Weyc's Wand, and right away switch to Effort (with Avenging Storm, Vithrack Silk Slippers, Ring of Clenched Muscles, etc). I took a picture (between two lightnings) : The cipher have 9 might but it is enought ..

Summoning Reaping Knives on someone change his weapon set to the knives, but there is a way to alter that : After the Reaping Knives are summoned, the "target" cant change his weapons but can change his form : Spiritshifting or drinking a Potion of the Fearless Brute is allowed. When the form effect expire, the target return to his weapon set , and have as beneficial effect "reaping knives". The effect is now different : 5 focus per hit. Multi-hits weapons generate quickly the focus for the caster, and with Hemmorhaging 's Effort, every hit from spell generate now 5 focus too. Weapons like Keeper of the Flame or WotEP can "focus-back" 10 focus per hit, the area of effect is generating only for 1 hit. This is a little tweak since I personally never used Reaping Knives for the focus back, but against Boss or whatever that can be useful.

Oh I didn't see that, damn. You know, for the Frostfall Dispersed Suffering on any weapon kill, that mean an huge rise of Hostiles effects durations with many summons and one Thunderous Report (from 13s to 64s Mental Binding effect), when Frostfall is in main other hand. It is painless than a confused skeletons-chain-killer.

That explain the low damages I thought, but I felt disapointed when only the first target take the Swift Flurry proc. At this time, my point was that was working like Sun and Moon when the 3 additionnal crit proc another first hit (if I am clear) but in other hand, for Sun and Moon, that was the consequence of Dualwielding. Wahai was just wrong writed

I'm thinking about the "legitimity" of the find : because this is not an isolated case, since there are at less also Cruel Blade, Blade Feast (Engoliero do Espirs), Rock Blunt (Sungrazer) and Breath of Life (Twin Eels) that work on spells, it seems that is not a mistake from developpers (we are at version 5.0). Excepted this ones are not melee

A Trickster with Effort, Mask of the Grotto Deep, Ajamuut's Stalking Cloak, Ring of Clenched Muscle, Scroll of Avenging Storm, Ryngrim's Repulsive Visage and Vanishing Strike : I captured the screen env. 1 or 2 sec after attacking with Vanishing Strike. Without the Mask of the Grotto Deep and Avenging Storm but only Ajamuut's Stalking Cloak and Effort, a Wizard can Stun as long he stay under the effect of Arkemyr's Brilliant departure an enemy that was before prepared by Entropy, with an unique CC spell. It is really funny

It is : the crit from spell (some spells have many rolls so many crit per attack) inflict Hemmorhaging to the target, and it is a melee attack. That proc one lightning from Avenging Storm, that can also crit. Hemmorhaging itself can proc itself when it crit. Each crit proc a new lightning, that can crit, and etc. Each Hemmorhaging hit have 20%chance to interrupt with Babyboar pet, the chain-crit while enregized stun-lock the target during a short time. Blood or Spirit frenzy from the Crimson Panoplie (for exemple) applie their status for each hit or crit(for Blood Frenzy), adding a new layer of potential crit for each crit. Gloves like Boltercatch add a new 20% potential crit on crit. Ect.. I suspect the Ajamuut cloak to potentially stun from Arkemyr Brilliant Departure with CC spells (without Avenging Storm) with Hemmorhaging. I will try also the Mask of the Grotto deep. That doesnt work from Shadowing Beyond because the first roll is made from the spell, and clear the invisibility. And, yes, into melee attack, my english isn't good..

Not for Fury Druid since they loose the access to healing spells (wounds on yourself) ; but that work on every gloves that work usually with melee hits or crits. That work also with bombs or scrolls, like Binding Web, and stack resonnances for SC Monk very quickly. Sadly in my test I didnt have the time to active the Resonnant Touch because everyone died because of Chain-Lighning before.

I dont know, there is nothing in the combat log. Only a list of "blank" hit and crit from Hemorraging, edit : I tried something that should be similar, the CP extra 's Backstab (20 raw damage on weapon hit when stealth), and the Hemorraging dont proc the flat damage. The effect itself is not threated as weapon, but it come from a weapon, the difference is subtile

Yes since stagger can crit Absolutely, and that transform everything that crit in melee attack. Abilities from gloves trigger also, or the Mage Slayer Spell Disruption (at the coast of the scroll of Avenging Storm). A mage Slayer Caster is amazing as capricious child who dont want anyone else can cast spell except himself
