  1. What am I going to do about Project#2thatwillneverbefinished. Project#1thatwillneverbefinished is just fine for Neverwinter Nights 2. But Project#2thatwillneverbefinished needs an engine that supports guns, swords, AND magic.
  2. This would actually fall under trademark. Works are copyrighted. Names are trademarked. Saying "Superman" in a Spider-Man comic would be using a trademark. Having Superman actually appear would be using something that is copyrighted. If someone where to use a building (to use from the example, a McDonald's), then the building itself can be copyrighted. However, depending upon the purpose, amount used, and whether it dimenishes the value of the original work it would fall under Fair Use. Trademark is a lot harder to infringe upon than copyright because it exists for a completely different purpose. Trademark is used to identify something as belonging to a company or otherwise seperate for other things. DC Trademarked Superman so that other companies can't go around naming other things Superman and tricking DC Superman fans from buying items that have no real relation. Maybe if you argued that Spider-Man referencing Superman confused readers into thinking that Marvel owned Superman there could be an issue, but I think that's unreasonable.
  3. !!! I think this thread just answered a question I've been faced with for the past few weeks.
  4. I like the consider myself an industry analyst. In that I have no experience or personal connections with the industry but I'm going to pretend I know what I'm talking about.
  5. The short answer to all of these questions is yes. The long answer depends on if it's being simply referenced or if its actually of importance to the product.
  6. 300 currently according to Wikipedia Dragon Age Mass Effect Sonic RPG unnammed MMO ?????? Zombie jesus, even with two studios, that's a lot of employees.
  7. I've never had any problems finding my CDs or DVDs.
  8. I thought 50 would be enough for a couple teams. For example, Valve has 104 and at least four teams. And I'm guessing low with that. Obsidian has 110 (according to Wikipedia, anyway). They've got at least 3 teams working right now. Aliens, Mask, and a new IP (supposedly).
  9. Needs more albino. Otherwise, the music is perfect.
  10. So, it's based on entertainment merit.
  11. Is that prize for anything or just being "outstanding?"
  12. I'm going to get another bookshelf or two sometime in the upcoming month. When I do, I'll organize my console games onto them and you can really see the collection. I console gamed exclusively between 92 (when I got my SNES) and 2002. So, those computer games are accumulated over 5 years, the console games have at least double that period of time. Though maybe not fully double the quantity of games.
  13. You're a brit. Ya'll bring tanks into stadiums.
  14. I love it when a good con comes together.
  15. I am deciding between finishing Chrono Trigger and starting up Final Fantasy Tactics Advance.
  16. I've heard there's some conflicts between Unfinished Business and the G3Fixpack.
  17. Knew it had to be in the works after the teaser at the end of Dark Crusade.

  20. Know what'd help? Licensing an engine. :pokes Night with a stick:
  21. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Transformers_TV_series Note: Sunbow is American. The Japanese drew the 3 episode miniseries. If you want to consider those three episodes the original series, Pidesco, you're technically correct. However, they drew it for a US audience. It was aired in the US first.
  22. Transformers More than meets the eye. Transformers Robots in disguise Over land and sea and aaaaiiiiir GI JOOOE Real American Heroes GI Joe is theeeere GI Jooooooe Wait... what? Crashing through the sky comes the fearful cry Cobra (cobra) Cobra (cobra) Armies of the night, evil taking flight Cobra (cobra) Cobra (cobra) Panic spreading far and wide, who can stem the time? Transformers
  23. No, it wasn't. It was originally American. Then somewhere around season 3 or 4 it became Japanese. The next series, Beast Wars and following Beast Machines were also American. And during this, the Japanese also made their own "spin-offs" of the projects, such as a Beast Wars movie and things like that which don't related very well back to the original series.
  24. The one glaring flaw in this is that Cartoon Network studios is american. I know we all like to look at modern cartoons and decry "that's not how they drew them when I was a kid" and conclude it must be Japanese! But alas... alas... ^^ With Pidesco putting it that way...
