  1. *puts hand on Virumor's shoulder*I have bad news for you.
  2. I'd be surprised if IMDB knew any more than we do. They probably just copied the list from the last two games.
  3. So Xen is in it as a romance option. Score.
  4. They do. Garrus is even in the demo.
  5. However, that is it.
  6. 5000 executions in 2009? WTF, china. I thought they were part of the civilized world now.
  7. They do, however, provide a convenient funnel for money from public to private sector.
  8. Oh, I see. So being a "crazy AI" would be totally logical for AI. How organocentric of you.
  9. When will the racism end.
  10. Actually the Collector general was a red herring. Harbinger was a Reaper. He possessed the general from time to time. Just like Sovereign did with Saren in the final battle. It was an awkward red herring. Because there are dialogues in the game where Shepard clearly knows what Harbinger is. They're missable. His assumption makes sense. The only reason we think it's the general is because of cutscenes the character can't see. Which means the player is being artificially deceived in a way the character is not. Hence awkward. And yes, the Reapers are a race of ships.
  11. Quite frankly, we're lucky they're bothering with the invasion as it currently is. The original invasion plan involved everyone waking up to their toasters and television sets hopping around firing laser beams while yelling "this hurts you" and "you can not comprehend."
  12. Gave the demo a second run. This time on Hardcore. The game felt better. But still not as good as Mass Effect 2. I was unfair in saying there were no other enemy types. There were guys with shields (not energy shields, tower shields). And there were centurions, who have energy shields. The guys with tower shields are useless if you can use warp. You have Liara in the demo, so that's given to you. The guys with energy shields are easy to miss. They don't seem to do anything different tactically. Some guys do use grenades, but its used sparingly enough that it didn't really factor into my gameplay. I find that having access to that assault rifle made all other weapons except the shotgun mostly useless. I used the SMG to get rid of the boss shield, but beyond that none of them found a place. One thing I found really interesting is that when enemies shoot at you, you slow down. I say "interesting" because I'm undecided if it's actually good or bad. It kills the fun of trying to run at guys to melee them to death, but improves the challenge.
  13. I've been vacillating between hatedom and skeptic optimism. I mean, I know the plot won't be anything special. But it wasn't in ME2 and I loved that game. So as long as the gameplay is good, will I probably enjoy ME3? Well, the demo didn't feel right. Was it the music? The lack thereof? Was it the pacing? It just felt like I was playing one of the weaker DLCs. I'm really not sold. It could have been the lack of context. Maybe it was the mostly one type of enemy (per battle). There was a moment with some turrets. But after that I couldn't tell the enemies apart until I got to the boss.
  14. I love that one, too.
  15. Capes are right there with seeing your own body in first person games. When people do it, it doesn't get half the appreciation it deserves.
  16. Just so everyone is clear, I think he's talking about Amalur. It seems so from the Amalur thread.Mass Effect 3 is not on Steam. Mass Effect 2 is and does have a demo. Mass Effect 3 will not be, nor its demo.
  17. Do you have no EA account whatsoever? The Bioware Social account is the same network.
  18. It won't be available on Steam.
  19. OH GOD, WHY IS EVERYTHING TRYING TO KILL ME or How I learned to stop worrying and to run like hell. I've only kind of started. About a half hour of work. My first objective was to run to the Dokkalfar city of Rathir. I figured I would go for an easy target. Plan was to try passing through the Warsworn base in the mountain. Apparently it doesn't work that way. That is not a shortcut. Arrived at Rathir. No problem whatsoever. Headed south for the desert. Again not a problem. Wolves are the only thing that can keep up with your running. Now the desert had a couple of problems. Enemy mages are like Alligators. Zig zag. I lost a life to learn that trick. Made it all the way to Adessa. The one problem here is I didn't think about how to make it to the other side. Looking at the map again, the port is back up at Rathir. So I'm going to have to backtrack. How bad are the enemies? I'm level 19, never stepped out of Dalentarth before this. I encountered nothing orange. Everything is yellow. And as I said earlier, the only thing that can keep up and overcome your sprint is Wolves. Mages are also trouble. Edit: Forgot about fast travel. Fast traveled back to Rathir. Go to the boat and the guy won't go. Guess it won't be available until I do a quest. Probably main quest. So that's the end of this particular journey.
  20. That is terrifying. I thought it would be common knowledge by now. The military it's a stepping stone that helps many an impoverished people to rise above their class by helping with their education (college loans) Unfortunately there is also the insidious element that want sanction to murder and since they don't like taking orders they inevitably reverse back to the gang life. Did you read the entry? The way you describe it, you'd think it was the typical "soldier can't adapt to civilian life" thing. But no, it's gangs actively joining the military completely with the intent to improve their gang and not getting filtered out of the process. It's a problem with the recruitment, not the afterwards.
  21. Am I late to the party? I'm hearing rumors that weapon holstering is not in. That seems strange. It implies they don't mix exploration areas and combat areas. Anyone confirm or deny?
  22. The Fae are a remarkably fresh take on elves. If not original, they're at least uncommon. Immortal and in tune with nature, blah blah. But their immortality is serial resurrection and they're absolutely obsessed with replaying out grand stories over and over and over again. For real, not just putting on theater. They kill each other on repeat because they did it before and it was deemed heroic. I wonder if the Alfar elves have as much going for them.
  23. I'm not sure how survival horror RPG would work. To me, survival horror is still adding raptors into Myst. An unapologetic slow paced adventure game with lots of silly puzzles and monsters. That could just be my problem. I lack perspective. Then again Parasite Eve tried it. Opinions vary on how well that worked. Ocean House was cool. It was great even. But it wasn't survival and it lacked RPG elements. Having something more survival oriented in general would be interesting. There are a number of Roguelikes out there with such a focus. I've not seen Obsidian tackle that space. I'd be interested in seeing it. As for horror. I'm not excited by the prospect personally. I'm back to the survival horror. I'm not familiar with horror games that don't have that adventure element without turning into straighter action games. And having the adventure element seems like too much is being mixed together. If Obsidian can think of something interesting, I'd probably change my tune on that line of thinking. Also, I may be hoping for isometric. I'm uncertain on how that interacts with horror.
  24. Interview with Schafer. While I mine this for topics, holy crap
  25. That is terrifying.
