My German is terribly rusty. Beyond that it's English and bad English.
  3. Haestrom did seem like a genuine plot thread that never got picked up on. Like the angels of Klencory. That kind of stuff happens all the time in large works. They will be picking up Weapons mined from the demo.
  4. So he's half-Quarian?
  5. Yeah, I saw your thread. I double checked Origin. Apparently it's listed as part of the N7 arsenal pack. You get a whole new companion and they hide it behind the shotgun. Thanks for looking into it.
  6. Virumor posted that earlier in a spoiler tag. heh It's genuine. As far as we know, he's from the day 1 DLC. Which was reported at one time as included with the CE. But I can find no confirmation from official sources that it's still the case.
  7. Some fun numbers I just put together. Mass Effect: 10:26 Mass Effect 2: 11:07 Mass Effect 3 demo: 13:03 This is distance from start of game (right after character creation on 1 and 3 demo) to action. Not doing any unnecessary dialogs, but no skipping cutscenes and mandatory ones. I did use action mode for ME3 demo. This implies that action mode has very little chance of fixing their appeal to the action gamer. But maybe they make up for it in the long run. I also did Baldur's Gate 1 for the heck of it. 2:36 That's to one of the assassins in Candlekeep. I think more meaningful numbers would be time to map, time to player input, and time to combat while skipping cutscenes. If I go insane, I might try collecting those on future games. Insanity is a genuine possibility.
  8. ME1 presented evidence about Protheans and humans not only living at the same time, but having interacted in the past. And the entire setup for their plan was to make races reliant on the Citadel and Mass Relays. The easy conclusion is that they only harvested the technologically advanced ones.
  9. That's considered by some to still be a spoiler.
  10. It's coming out in under a month.
  11. Overthinking keeps your brain fresh! It's a learning exercise. Analyzing the plot and game are helping me to better understand plot and game structure in general. Even if it is just potshots against a non-moving target. For instance, I now hold new and detailed opinions on tutorial design. I hope it'll enable me to provide better feedback on games. And better appreciation for games that do it well.
  12. Baldur's Gate 2 is showing up on Steam's registry. It's been there for a month, so don't get too excited thinking it'll be available today. But something's up in general.
  13. Gibbed's Save Game Editor. Doesn't have any plot flags from ME2. Looks like he quit pretty early. I can't find anything to say if the save did a romance or what happened to Collector Base.
  14. It was, to put it in words I hope to never use again, a "revolution." The first major step into being a deeper art form. Or so they say.
  15. Is there any way to see what choices are in your ME2 save? I guess I can look for a save editor.
  16. Trying to fight the urge to replay Mass Effect 2. I'm tempted to do it just for perspective. Been spending too much time focusing on what I don't like. When I really enjoyed the game.
  17. Heavy Melee is pretty incredible as an Infiltrator. On a decent difficulty, enemies will shoot at you if you try it as any other class. And when you get shot you slow down. So they can shoot you more. Still, it's kind of disappointing. I was hoping it was an actual melee system since every class has a unique melee. Sentinel has two blades, for instance. But it's just a graphical difference. I had vague fantasies about charging at the bad guys just going to town. Not charging at a guy, holding the button, and waiting for the animation to end.
  18. No. It only applies to combat missions.
  19. It's not that holstering anim would take more. It's that the holstered and weapon ready animation sets are so wildly different. It changes the walk/run/stand/idle animations.
  20. Call animal control, if you have such a service available. We had a couple in my old neighborhood. You shouldn't risk dealing with it yourself.
  21. Tried the Binary Domain demo. Those... bleepity bleeps of bleeps! They have a system for dialogue where you hold R2 to get access to up to 4 face button commands or responses. This allows you to engage in a conversation without losing control and going into cutscenes. I was going to build a prototype of that.
  22. The demo only has two choices period. And several of them are the same line regardless of what you pick. There may be more options, including exposition dump options, in the full game.
  23. *puts hand on Virumor's shoulder*I have bad news for you.
