I've always thought that a France v. America rivalry is about the dumbest invention of this generation. We're two nations that have saved each other's asses in the past, we're two nations that have positively influenced one another's cultures since the day we started out, and we've never had a single war between us. If there's any two nations that should be the best ****ing friends in the whole damn world, it's the US and France.

I was hoping the humor would be darker when I found out they started carrying guns like in the comic, but the new series seems even more cutesy than the original.

Event Horizon is pretty far from my top movie list, but that whole concept, the ship that bends the universe to get from point a to point b, but it found something in the bent space between--that was damn cool. That's the kind of horror I like. Horror that challenges that perceptions we have about the universe in some terrifyingly believeable way; that's ****ing scary.

If the villian is something I could just shoot with a 12-gauge, it doesn't scare me, and if the movie is just gross, it doesn't entertain me. If you're familiar with some of the minutae of FR lore (as I am, o yah) you'd know that the Crown of Horns was a powerful artifact (like, awesomely powerful even for an artifact) that eventually possessed those who wore it, as artifacts tend to do. One of the seven sisters got ahold of it and was possessed by Myrkul for a few years, and then the rest of the sisters and Khelben "Blackstaff" Arunsun destroyed it, thus "killing" Myrkul (I think). Mask had a similar trick with the Godsbane shortsword and Cyric ended up breaking that, but for whatever reason Mask ended up just severely weakened instead of dead. Argh! My brains! Too much random incomprehensible lore!
