  1. I really loved Mysteries of Westgate. Ossian are a terrific studio and it's obvioust that if they'd been able to make more modules they'd have done a great job. I especially like how every skill gets some use in one way or another.
  2. I think it's still terrible. I own it, I think I got it free somehow (at least I HOPE I didn't pay for it...) If you're looking for something similar but not different you might want to readup on a game called Gangsters: Organized Crime.

  5. The beard, it's all about the beard.
  6. I think part of it was backlash that Hicks and Bishop died right at the start. It was my close second favourite of the series though.
  7. I shouldn't be shocked that it's possible to run 'proper' games on a phone anymore but I'm shocked. Hopefully tapping the phone market wil help nudge Bioware/EA/Disney towards making KOTOR 3.
  8. Kyle Katarn was the rebel operative from Dark Forces who went on to star in the Jedi Knight game up until Force Academy where he was reduced to a potential 'love interest' npc or something (didn't play that one). I also liked Carth, Anomen and Kaiden. And Aribeth, and Casavir ect. I do sometimes think that and other archetypes are overused and should be skipped for a couple of games but there really should be room for those characters in a big RPG cast. I do wonder what it would be like if Bioware made a game where being the/a bad guy was the primary path and none of your companions were good people with heroic arcs (I'm not advocating the mindless, rude to everyone phycho thing either, that's always as boring as watching paint dry).
  9. I wonder if Quantic Dream will get a similar offer from another studio if this takes off? He did kind of pioneer this as a genre with Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy.
  10. She's a bit like Fenris I think, her Skyhold conversations do give you insight into her personality and past but without taking her on certain quests or hearing certain banters she's a bit lacking. Like when you find out that Fenris was once taken in by Qunari and knows about the culture and customs for example, that was an awesome story, well acted and made him a lot more interesting and sympathetic and contributed to the main plot. If I had left him in the mansion the whole time I would have probably agreed with most people that he was just a shallow anime token character, which he isn't. I think it's a new approach Bioware are deliberately taking/testing with characters but I'm not sure if like it because I don't know if I have the energy to comb through the whole game again just to see which quests shine light on certain characters, and if you miss the wrong quests then tough luck.
  11. Is it not possible that Sera's jokes are actually very intellectual and humourous but.....you just not getting them ? That may be true in some cases, despite appearances Sera is fairly well grounded and smarter than she seems. Quite a few of the jokes Sera is a part of are either immature, oh look how mad she is or Kathrine Tate style chav humour though. Don't get me wrong, it's not all bad, I love her banter with Varric for example and she does have great lines throughout the game. She's actually pretty endearing once you get her world view and see her open up a bit. But her archetype/stereotype was very much a characteristic that a lot of people were going to dislike. I like the character but I hate the chav thing, I tolerate it because like Jack once you dig past it there's more to the character. It's also worth pointing out though that Sera doesn't want people to get to know her, I think she feigns and exaggerates being bat**** crazy and annoying to a certain extent and pushes people away when prodded like a defence mechanism. It makes sense why she might act the way she does, given her past and what she's made her life's mission to be.
  12. I've been meaning to watch that one. I don't think I've heard anything bad said about the film yet and Michael Keaton is usually terrific in whatever role he's playing.
  13. Let it go?
  14. Is Batman vs Superman going to be a Justice League movie then or is Jason Momoa getting his own film?
  15. Ugh sorry, I guess I'm DA:I obsessed atm.
  16. Replaying DA:I with a new character and the default world state. I'm attempting to keep it freash by trying to finish the main storyline doing as few side-quests as I can comfortably manage (as is fun basically, rather than as a hardcore challenge). This means being relativly low level the whole game I hope, making do with equipment I aquire along the way or what I craft from the meager supplies I gather and also for added variety I'm trying to stick with a rogue and three warrors. I'm also going to be jumping around to a few of my favourite areas rather than just trying to squeeze any single area like a lemon. So far it's a great change of pace. Combat is still challenging although I'm only starting the side with the templars mission atm. I'm making the most out of potions and grenades this time and I am saving up to upgrade the ones I plan to use. I'm also switching direct control now instead of using the tactical cam which makes the game feel different. It's also fun trying to fit three warrior skills trees together. I'm focusing on guard building skills at the moment but I already have a few different ideas on how to branch out the group. I'm going to try to get them to buff each other I think. I'm also tempted to try giving two or all of them two-handed weapons and seeing if they tear through everything with group buffs and combined AoE damge.
  17. It will be interesting to see how that kind of insane creativity works in a setting like Silent Hill. Do you think love can bloom in a nightmarish rust reality? Are you looking forward to having long philosophical conversations with a **** monster? Do you think Snake will have a cameo mode that is accidentally better than the core game?
  18. In Fallout Tactics you can play as a pack of dogs, possibly making it the best game of all time.
  19. Is than an endorsement at how the developers successfully conveyed the bleak, mind shattering horrors of survival in a post apocalyptic society? Fallout Tactics was a lot of fun by the way. There were some bad missions like the jeep escort but when the game was on a roll it was freaking amazing. Mulitplayer was an absolutel blast with a good group too. If it were possible and I had a pc *twitch* I'd be tempted to try organising a SODOFF match. Bruce I think you can get all three from gog.com still. They are a little longer in the tooth than Icewind Dale but the games are still fun and they're Black Isle' best work. You should get raround to them some day.
  20. It confirms it's 5th edition on the site I think, but yes it looks terrific. The trailer makes it seem more like Diablo than Baldurs though, you guys think it will have more of an action heavy ratio? (Not that the IE games lacked combat).
  21. Ollyphant's film was a very fun action flick. The plot and premise to the Hitman series is so stupid though it's hard to accept that it got made into a movie twice.
  22. Love it.
  23. Could it be Doom 4 as well? Bethesda bought ID a while ago didn't they?
  24. That's weird because even the early TES games seemed like they built an excellent frameqork to have lots of players running around doing things and for it to be the ultimate sandbox. I mean it makes sense on paper right?
  25. Wow, didn't realise he was that old. I still think he was great in the role however and with all the other bus pass carrying members of the Avengers it might not have hurt to say the Spider-Man movies happened a few years earlier and let the character grow up. It's good to see Spider-Man be a part of the MCU either way though.
