Didn't they already do that with Starfox 64? -

I'd love to see a new Hexen with the same kind of design philosophy in terms of classes, traps and big areas with backtracking and changing environments. -
The problem is that making harsh decisions cost you the campaign is fine for something like xcom which is designed for replayability, but Banner Saga is story driven and like a joke it only works best the first time. If you have to replay the story because you failed too many key moments then it causes a lot of frustration because there is a massive section of the game that bores players as they retread what they've already done. If Banner Saga were unforgiving it would make those moments a lot more tense and exciting but it would probably ruin the game for a lot of people too and not always because they're bad. I mean if the key moments were always sensible option vs. clearly stupid option that would water down the point of giving the player a choice as well. If it's a choice with no clearly best answer then the player is guessing which way the writer decided to go on the situation and their campaign's success depends on a coin toss. I'm not saying that this design philosophy would be bad by the way, there are pros and cons either way but the current philosophy probably works as well as the other.

I've never been to a strip club but it always seemed like people went there to get sexually frustrated and have no form of release. I'm guessing this isn't the case otherwise you wouldn't go there all the time, but what exactly is the real appeal of strip clubs? What makes them fun, what do you actually do there?

I think it's meant to create the illusion of choice and deepen the emotional impact of events as they unfold. In the Walking Dead games for example if you think a character you like may die if you make the wrong decision it makes that moment very in the story very tense and either makes the sense of loss greater when they die or is exhilarating when you save them. Once you figure out that your choices ultimately don't matter though the story can still be very enjoyable but you won't have the same kind of highs and lows.

Oby can I ask you something...are you a women? If you were I would feel quite bad about how I spoke to you in the past because I would never be rude if you were women? Are you guys finally getting together?

Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear RELEASED

Not to get dragged into a big romance debacle but if there are double the romance options how do they resolve the fact that those extra romances are absent in BG2? Didn't they already do BG2 and ToB:EE? Although I suppose being abducted at the start of BG2 and moved to a new region sort of does that. How many of us haven't had a relationship go bad when some random villain abducts us and we escape and travel around the world for a bit and then don't go back home to our loved ones? Hell, I've been moved three times in the last two years. It's getting your mail forwarded that's the biggest issue, especially if you're abducted to a region with poor internet access. They never bother to simulate that in games though. -

I'd like another Alien vs. Predator game that was more like the original Rebellion title on the Atari Jaguar. Basically think Alien Isolation with a ton more combat for the marine campaign and the game opening up an entire space station from the get-go for all three races. -
Never played that, does put a damper on things though. What was the problem you had with it? Still need to try openTTD If the controls were good then how would you get a fever?
-
If they're tyrannical enough with their dev team they can probably make it happen.
-
Yes, SoD takes place between BG1&2. It will probably have a lot of foreshadowing and homages.

huh? I don't see Fallout 2, X-Com or any of Shiny's games. but maybe it's just the bad picture quality I have Fallout 1, 2, Tactics, 3, and New Vegas. I have Giants on GOG, and Earthworm Jim once upon a time. Missed X-COM completely at the time of release. Later I loved Terror from the Deep. Terror from the Deep was the first X-Com I played, I think I had a demo of it or something... I loved it, I still think the X-Com games are some of the best games ever made. My life being the way it is, naturally I ended up meeting a level designer who'd worked on it. Anyways did I tell you guys that I've defected to... EA. *facepalm* Volo's gunna have a field day with that. According to a recent poll, most Obsidianites are in fact evil so it doesn't come as a total surprise. Welcome back, glad you're doing well.

This official concept art begs to differ!

What you call a trope, Woldan calls a typical day at the airport.

Final Score: SENSIBLE Your capacity for evil is minimal, and you seem like a rational, reasonable sort. That’s good! As long as it doesn’t get you killed...

If he's so charismatic why doesn't he ever get interviewed on Jimmy Kimmel?

That game looks like it would be my jam. Sadly, no Linux version. If you haven't tried them already here are some point-and-click horror adventures from Yahtzee of Zero Punctuation. They're fantastic. http://www.lgdb.org/game/chzo_mythos -
Vampire: The Masquerade made by Obsidian?

What is Double Bear doing these days? How did Dead State do in the end? -
It did a lot of things really well. I think because of how short a single playthrough is, the amount of bugs at launch were really devestating. By the time the game was stable I'd already gone most of the way through the game (As I remember it there was a bit near the end where you couldn't progress due to a bug) and lost my enthusiasm. Also the 4th wall breaking plotline was a bit of a turn-off for me but that's personal preference. I'd probably buy Consortium 2 on a whim if I saw it on the Steam store but I don't want to kickstart it and wait god knows how long for a release, if that makes any sense and isn't just me being picky?

So it's more like Fallout where you'd only ever shot things in the eyes or groin then?
