  1. I don't think the PS license is even available to get should they want to. Maybe Hasbro has changed their mind, but when they discontinued the setting they simply didn't want any video games made using it. Also, licensing fees and restrictions make it much more appealing to create their own IP for this (and it would also add more exploration to the player).
  2. I'm with you here Hurlshot. This is my most anticipated game this year (and frankly most anticipated game in many years). Definitely a day one purchase for me (something I rarely do these days).
  3. I disagree. While Civ IV with expansions was way better than CIv V, Civ IV without them (especially Beyond the Sword) wasn't that much better than Civ V is. And the new expansion adds a lot to the game. It's not the game fully expanded Civ IV was yet, but it's definitely closing in. Specifically the implementation of religion in the new exansion is much, much better than the one in Civ IV.
  4. Or just click and hold for a sec (iirc, been a while since I used a mac)
  5. Depends on what you want from it. It has some of the most realistic shooting mechanics ever seen in a video game, but that also makes gunfights incredibly challenging at times. It's not an FPS like call of duty where you're being shot at 99% of the time, so to some people that comes off as "slow". The game is technically open-world but the game world itself is not seamless, rather it's a bunch of huge maps that are connected by a number of paths. That said, if you like exploration in your games you're in for a treat here. Yeah, STALKER was a very good game, very different from most shooters. I liked it a lot. It also has an atmosphere that is amazing (I really like how people just sitting around talking in the background actually speak russian) Bought the entire pack now, mostly because I never did get clear sky and call of pripyat.
  6. Besides, didn't the Shadowrun returns guys talk a little about this in their q&a video? Their game will take place in a different time frame from the MMO, and I'm pretty sure they're communicating with eachother and the rights holder. They also probably won't be released near eachother, considering SRR is scheduled for release early 2013 (even though I find that incredibly optimistic considering where they're currently at and what they want to do)
  7. The article was misquoting it's source. The mass effect 3 has sold 3.5 million copies was a link to another article. Quoting from that: "EA announced today that Mass Effect 3 shipped over 3.5 million copies in the first week of release, selling 890,000 units in the first 24 hours of North American sales alone."
  8. Shipped != sold. But those are still decent numbers, although the sell through numbers are probably quite a bit lower.
  9. Let's not. The recent server transfers and now the LFG tool has really breathed new life into the game for me. I was still enjoying raid nights before, but other than that I played the game very little. Now there's a lot of action, and while the content on the LFG tool is a tad easy for my main (apart from one instance, which is typically too hard for others I get grouped with instead, with the rare exception), running flashpoints with my alt is still a lot of fun. And the daily rewards make it worth it to run it with my main as well, which makes it so that more experienced players and newer level 50s get to do things together they didn't before. True, sometimes you get grouped with people who really can't do things right even when instructed multiple times, but that's fairly rare. Most of the time there's a player or two with less experience that causes things to be more difficult than it needs be, but I don't mind as long as they learn from their mistakes. In fact, I kinda like being a sort of mentor to these people (although only for a short while). So yeah, for me the LFG tool is a great success. I hope the ranked warzones is revitalizing the pvp gameplay in a similar manner, although that doesn't interest me personally.
  10. Basically every quest hub is something along the lines of 1 class quest missions, 1-2 planet main mission, 3-8 side missions. And most of the time the planet main missions are the longest one, so time spent doing non-class missions is probably around 80% or so. Less if you're doing flashpoints and bonus series. Rough estimates, but still.
  11. It really isn't. Personally I think the Sith Inquisitor is the worst storyline. I've only played the republic ones though. It started out great, but after chapter one it went downhill and just kept getting worse. And the sith all just feel like comic book villains... Agent was the best by far though. But I'm still not sure I'd say it's better than anything in Kotor 1 & 2. It probably would be if it didn't get so disjointed through it being a MMO. You go so long between class quests that it's sometimes hard to keep engaged.
  12. Yeah, my guild transferred yesterday. Went from a fleet that would have 60-80 people on it at any given night to one that had almost 500. Now we'll just have to see if they'll be able to maintain that level of players on the new servers. That with the group finder coming soon should be a boost to the game.
  13. I like trying to get one of the later religions, like Islam. Just for the extra money it brings. The early ones are typically a waste (but Islam you can typically get whenever, the AI rarely goes for it until super late). You don't have to change your state religion to one you have founded, just spread it around to make a little (or a lot) extra cash. Not sure what Enoch considers higher difficulty, but it works well for me on prince, which is what I typically play. Edit: At least I think it's prince, it's been so long I can't remember.
  14. Civ IV with expansions is definitely the best of the series. Even so I am currently playing Civ V when I do play, which isn't that bad. It's not as good as Civ IV, but much better than Civ III. And I think after the coming expansion it will close in on Civ IV. Overall, it's the best and most consistent game series ever. Even the low marks of the series are stellar games (well, maybe not Call to Power, but that doesn't count). I've been playing the games since Civ I and I still love them to death.
  15. Isn't he saying that if you buy the games for only a couple of bucks, use the torrent download instead of direct download? Ie has nothing to do with saying people should pirate them? Edit: in fact, the first answer in that post even covers what Krezack was saying.
  16. I approve of the one you posted (don't know which link that was, too lazy to check) with one small caveat. 60GB is nowhere near enough for an SSD. You really, really REALLY want at least 128 GB, and if you like to keep your games installed probably twice that. Unless (and this will get a bit technical), the motherboard supports ssd caching, which means you'll "attach" the ssd to the 2TB drive and then some clever algorithms will figure out what files you use the most and copy those to the SSD. It won't give you the write speeds of an SSD, but it will give you reading speeds that are good enough. I have a setup like that and can't really tell the difference between that and separating the ssd and storage drive, and it is very nice not having to care about drive size at all more or less. Edit: Since Humanoid managed to sneak in between, my post was directed to MC. As a comment to Humanoids question about water cooling, it sin't REAL watercooling. it's just one of those cpu coolers, isn't it? Sure, the Megahalem is probably a bit better, but it's pretty much a toss up. Also, why on earth spend money on a soundcard? Does MC have the speaker setup (and ears) to take advantage of that? (also in regard to Humanoids package).
  17. If they can deliver on what they claim in that video, that game is going to be a personal favorite. I already like the Divinity games, but this shows a lot of promise. I like how they solved the multiplayer dialogue (especially the part where there was a stat roll to determine outcome). Combat also looked really good.
  18. That's exactly what I'd do. And potentially scale back to a 670 as well, but I can fault anyone going for the more powerful card (although the 670 is more value, sometimes performance is worth it)
  19. I would like a HDD usable for storage, but if you're fine with 128 GB you can do without.
  20. The difference is fairly miniscule. If all you're going to use the computer for is gaming, then the i5 is a better buy. Not because it performs better, but because it is cheaper and performs about the same. At least this was the case with previous generation (sandy bridge), not sure if it still holds up. Haven't been paying attention to processor tests lately.
  21. Also, you don't have to do all the quests in every playthrough. Do different bonus series for different times through and a fair amount of content will vary.
  22. Me and my wife ordered it today from Amazon UK. Will be maybe two weeks until we get it, but given that it was over 30% cheaper it is worth the wait. When importing a physical product from England to Sweden is cheaper than buying a digital download directly from the publisher, something is very wrong.
  23. Titan Quest wasn't. It was better with multiplayer, but it was pretty good single player as well.
  24. Labadal is in no way shape or form a representative of the Swedish people in this.
  25. From a story perspective, the heroics are pretty meh. From a gameplay perspective I kinda like them. The fights are tougher, so you have to think and cooperate a little, making them a nice break. But they are not needed to do in any way shape or form.
