  1. I was going to post the *exact* same thing!
  2. We're trying but it's eating up so much mem that I doubt it will make the final build Sorry...
  3. Even more importantly can you now skip the cutscene celebrations after the Swoop Race? They're always the same and it gets annoying after the first 15 times. Especially if you're trying to beat a hard race and doing it o ver and over again. There aren't any YEAH! / BOO! scenes in the race areas I designed
  4. Making games is the only job I've ever had where I consistently and genuinely look forward to going to work. A part of that is working for a great company like Obsidian... another part of that is working on a freakin' Star Wars KOTOR game!
  5. You always could grab crystals out of lightsabers you found (and this probably won't change)
  6. This is a balance issue and won't be known 100% for sure until later in the developement.
  7. I have no idea but rest assured he is not batting a thousand
  8. In the first game you were supposed to get your x1.5 strength bonus as per 3.* d&d rules but something broke or they didn't have time to implement it. In any case this should be fixed for K2. This (among other things) should balance the different lightsabers / fighting styles.
  9. Yeah that's why I thought you could, we have a "screenshot mode" on our dev copies... don't think we're going to make it into an interface feature though... you should probably still be able to cheat it like K1 in debug mode. Don't hold me to that though
  10. Er... sorry, I meant *ASPECTS* of the HUD. You won't be able to shut the whole thing off... at least not as of yet. Maybe in the future. Sorry
  11. Um, no. Not only will the base score probably be 8 (as per 3.* d&d rules) but I would assume the Jedi Council wouldn't have accepted students who were blindingly stupid To answer the general question: yes, your stats will affect different aspects of the game, including some dialogue options.
  12. However it was in the first... I think it's a menu function.
  13. We are trying to add more variety to the alienspeak voices.
  14. 1) Don't know. 2) See #1 3) LucasArts 4) Uh... sure! 5) Don't think you guys can. If it's a double post or something PM a moderator. Not a big deal though so don't worry about it.
  15. QA (no &) testing usually doesn't have much in common with actually playing a game. Even when playtesting you are often focusing on a particular area, class, race or skill inside the game. The job varies from company to company, with some placing more emphasis on checklists and others on playtesting. I really think some internal Obsidian testers who didn't work for Lucasarts would contribute to the project. I say that entirely out of self-interest and ambition. Can you *really* trust 'em? They work for the Man. *ssshh* Not so loud! They have agents eveywhere! "The Man" pays the bills...
  16. Sorry I missed this post for some reason... <_< Anyway we are trying to make plenty of reactionary situations that should allow for dynamic gameplay depending on what order you visit some of the planets.
  17. 1) That would be impossible to get to the point where we would be satisfied with the outcome. Most likely we'd have to use a synthesizer and that typically butchers words even with all the phonetical input you can cram into it. Plus it could still pronounce your name wrong and that would be nails across a chalkboard everytime you heard it. 2) That's a good question. I'm sure there are some rules but honestly there might not be any. Since it's a single-player game, you'd be the only person to ever see it so it might be open season. I'll have to look that up.
  18. Answer: You will be able to shut the HUD off completely to allow for a more "cinematic gameplay experience". ----EDIT: Er... sorry, I meant *ASPECTS* of the HUD. You won't be able to shut the whole thing off... at least not as of yet. Maybe in the future. Sorry
