  1. I was getting problems just out of warranty and had to send it away to get fixed. It didn't cost too much and was back within the week, so I was pretty happy with that. I wish I could have done that with my out of warranty video cards, as opposed to them becoming junk.
  2. Any workplace. And if they don't they should. And if you're suffering from gunshots wounds I think you're well past first aid kits.
  3. Health kits doesn't have to equal scavenger hunting. Rather than having numerous single kits spread out over the level/mission in all sorts of odd places, have them only in obvious places, areas you'd expect to find first aid kits in real life.
  4. Why? I mean is it because it might be an issue for them, say because they format and reinstall every month or constantly buy new hardware, or are you simply using them as a form or protest? Oh, and what's the extra D you keep using for? Draconian?
  5. The decision that started it all was the decision to buy the rights to Fallout. The hate began when the only information about the game was who was making it. Anyway, when reviews come out the anti-fans will see positive ones as being dishonest, proof that journalists have been paid for by the industry or that they are gullible or simply retards, and they will see negative reviews as being honest and brave. Nothing will change.
  6. Yeah, it's a GTA clone, but while GTA4 went for a more serious tone and got rid of the crazy side missions, SR2 embraced the silliness and added even more awesome side missions. And loads more customisation options for both the player and vehicles. Sandboxy goodness.
  7. Here, have a bunch! http://www.saintsrow.com/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saints_Row_2 http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=259566 http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=199270
  8. Doing a nudie run in Saint's Row 2. Apparently the people of Stillwater don't like this, as I was stabbed several times.
  9. The Dunia engine does look quite nice though, and having just played through Crysis I'm looking forward to seeing how it compares.
  10. I'm sure the minds at Troika would have been capable of creating a game that didn't include sex, drugs, foul language and gore. And if they weren't if would be quite the failure on their part.
  11. No it doesn't, it uses the Dunia engine.
  12. Saint's Row 2. So far just messing about with the character creator.
  13. So new games are forgotten while old games are revered? Apparently not, as it seems folks have forgotten the real old classics, because while games like Baldur's Gate and Fallout are relatively old, they were actually the start of the new wave of a dying genre.
  14. Why would you want a copy for future viewing, the game isn't far from release. Even the folks who totally aren't interested know that. Anyway, 4 eva Also, I don't know if it's funny or sad when people think their favorite part of the gaming world is the the important part. Kings amongst games indeed,
  15. My last post is useless now that mkrekus has appeared.
  16. Wooden animations is a major flaw?
  17. Yeah, Smith was Lead Designer to Spectors Project Director for DX, and then Smith was the Project Director for DX:IW, so I dunno what Moatilliatta is on about.
  18. Oh there's always a reason, it's just never a good one, being that it comes from a sense of entitlement. This doesn't refer to just rabid Fallout fans, it's rabid fans of anything. Anyway, as for the whole "you say you're interest is low but clearly it's high" thing, it seems a lot like when people continually post in threads saying how little they care about the topic, but if they really didn't care they never would have opened the thread. I think this stems from the mistaken belief that having an interest in something is always a positive thing, when for a lot of people it's more of a morbid curiosity.
  19. It's the Land of the Dead game.
  20. Yeah, it's the same reason the original DX doesn't have choices that seriously alter the storyline until the very end of the game. I think if you can get IW cheap you ought to try it out, and then report back to us. *cracks whip*
  21. I don't think it's that complicated either, but that's missing the point. What matters is how complicated and risky it seems to non tech savvy people, especially compared to PC piracy. I'm pretty sure that's how it is here in Australia, after all I bought the stuff to mod my PS2 from an Aussie online store. Although while you can buy mods you won't find anyone advertising them or offering pre-modded consoles nor are they offered by "everyone".
  22. So is it legal and they have modded consoles on the shelf, and advertise this fact, or is it illegal and all done on the sly? Say I turned up in Portugal and decided I wanted to buy a modded console, assume I speak the language but don't know my way around and don't know anybody, can I find a store that will sell me a modded console as easily as I can one that will sell my a legit console? Probably, but what does PC users being more tech savvy have to do with PC piracy versus console piracy? All you're doing here is showing just how much more complicated it is to run pirated games on console than on PC. Clearly we have a different idea of what makes for "tech savvy". 100% of the people I know with HD consoles and HD TVs didn't even realise their consoles were still running in SD. That's about as un-savvy as you get. To someone like that, "all you need to do is insert a memory card and run a self-extracting program that you've set up on a PC" is anything but simply, it'd sound rather intimidating. It might sound simple to us, but I can guarantee you that the average person won't agree.
  23. How does "using security holes to insert homebrew programing" equal not too hard to do? Hell, what does it even mean? What exactly is this "homebrew programing" and how do you "insert" it? So far nothing you've said suggests anything about modding a console without chipping it is easy, and you even admit you don't even know the consequences of doing it (whether it results in a banning).
  24. I suppose so, yeah, but you've still got to download it first. Anyway, I agree with this. Can you be more specific on ways to play without chipping? I'd like to know the specifics as well. I mean as I said before, I modded my PS2 without chipping it, but I still needed to mod it, and use a swap disc every time you load a game. Edit: Yep, that's definitely modding, and far more than you need to do to play pirated PC games, and there is still the banning from services like Live.
  25. What does that even mean? You can buy modded consoles in every store? There's a guy in every alley asking if you wanna score some console mods? You only need to check the stats on torrent sites to see that PC downloads far outweigh console downloads. I'd say the average console pirate is far tech savvier than the average PC pirate, being that you can't simply download, install, crack and play on console. I modded my PS2 so I could play imported games, no mod chips, just a new lid and a swap disc, but even that required opening up the console.
