Except that they want those southern symbols of leadership to be symbols of white supremacy that match their beliefs.

And you're surprised? Whats your opinion on taking down of this type of statue? In South Africa there are these irritating movements called " Rhodes must fall " that want to remove all statues and or references to Colonialism or the history of the country. It makes no difference to me in the context of SA but Lee represents part of the history of the South, I can see how some people will see this as an attempt to erase history of white people and get upset And Im not in anyway supporting any kind of white supremacist ideology. I am just saying Lee is not seen by everyone as a symbol of racism or white superiority Given that you aren't familiar with US history, I get where you're coming from. However, the problem is that it's not just about history and Colonialism is the wrong equivalent here. Not sure if you have any similar white nationalist groups in South Africa, but, say, if you have a statue of a well known Apartheid supporter/leader that people wanted removed, would your white nationalist groups go and protest it's removal? To understand this, you have to go deep into US history. To try and summarize it, up to the civil war, African Americans were slaves (which AFAIK, didn't happen in South Africa, but Africans did get treated as second class citizens). This led to an ideological divide between northern states which didn't allow slavery (though still had issues with racism) and the southern states which did allow slavery. Enter the Civil War in 1861, which was a fight over slavery. General Lee was the General of Generals in the Confederate south. While you guys in South Africa had reconcillation stuff after apartheid ended, nothing like this happened after the Civil War, which is part of why things are like this today. However, racism did NOT end with the end of the Civil War, white supremacist groups, who resented what happened with the Civil War sprung up quickly afterwards and there are still stuff like that today who want a return to a 'white nation' and they view Confederate monuments as part of their history. It's history, yes, but it's something that we never really had a tough reconcillation over or got it dealt with. Germany did, South Africa did, we didn't. As for my personal opinion, yes, it should be removed as those racist white supremacist groups aren't good.

Two-handed sabers
smjjames replied to meppe's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
@Karkarov: Katanas maybe? They're usually wielded two handed, but a skilled samurai could wield it one handed. Still though, the only similarity katanas have with sabres is that they're single bladed and curved. I agree though that they should stick to what classes they have. However, doesn't stop them from adding new forms to each class. Remember, they said that the sickles will go into the hatchet class. -
I could see other stuff like discreetly giving someone something, though I don't think there will be a whole lot of cloak and dagger type quests. Still, depending on what we can and can't do with the 'reverse pickpocketing', there's a whole lot of potential. Also, I wonder if we'll have to worry about getting pickpocketed/mugged ourselves. Maybe that's the CYOAs and the "you don't know whether that shadow is friend or foe" mentioned for the seedier parts of Neketaka.

Sorry, that sentence doesn't make much sense. They certainly want stability so as to stay in power, but also because every time China goes unstable bits break off and literally millions of people die as well as the ruling clique losing power? They're just... more acutely aware of it or something? It's supposedly a cultural thing and it's a narrative given by those in the West. Having to keep 1.3 billion people from revolting is certainly a factor. I treated that as him having no clue what he's even talking about. http://thehill.com/homenews/administration/346282-trump-refused-phone-call-from-venezuelan-president Probably Maduro demanding an explaination.
-
They're also obsessed with stability, not just because the ruling party wants to stay in power, but as their very long history shows, every time things become unstable (for various reasons), the ruling dynasty loses power.
-
Watching 1.3 billion people argue and vote on a constitution would be interesting, to say the least. Yeah, China isn't quite the same 'communist' as they were historically, but for all intents and purposes, their politics is still socialist/communist.
-
*ahem* Cuba? China is still politically a communist country, though economically they've changed a bit. Vietnam and Laos (link goes to Vietnam) are also still politically communist. Though NK is more like a monarchy with communist gears.

Your point being?.... Anyhoo.... In response to a question on the "locked and loaded" thing, he said "it's pretty obvious.""We are looking at that pretty carefully. I hope they are gonna fully understand the gravity of what I said. And what I said is what I mean," Yay ambiguousity! /s

"Locked an loaded" can be used for anything really. Usage of the slang term aside, Trumps saying that the military is fully in place and ready is a total lie (not surprising) and could actually make things more dangerous. Dangerous? As opposed to saying publicly that your country is NOT PREPARED for war?! It's called 'backing up your threats'. If the president of a superpower with the biggest military potential says their military is ready it's a credible threat however you look at it. Publicly contradicting that is nothing short of a treason. I'm surprised the media is doing this as they seemed to be fixated on the whole treason subject just a second ago. Being ready for action isn't the same thing as having everything in place where you'd want them to be before starting a war, which was the point of the article. I don't doubt that there are plans, the military has been doing plans and wargames for NK contingencies for decades, or that they can quickly mobilize. And things are definetly on alert now.

I'd like to see the methodology of how they did that scatterplot.

There are grenades intended I believe? Or some sort of bomb thing. There is a handmortar thing that is supposed to shoot grenades and Serafen is going to be using that. Would be cool to see it in action in a teaser at some point. Obviously we won't have to buy grenades as ammunition like we don't have to buy arrows (because hammerspace), but having throwable grenades seems like something that would be cool. I'm pretty sure grenades or some form of throwable explosive is going to be a thing, as I recall its linked to the alchemy skill. It was talked about at some point, it encouraged me to make a scientist-type character ready for Deadfire. I don't remember hearing that, but that sounds cool. Sort of like Geralts potion bombinb. Yeah I'll have to try and dig out where I heard it from for ya (and to make sure I didn't just dream it or something). Could you for me as well? I haven't heard of it either. There's already a crafting system, but I'm not sure how they'd apply an alchemy skill into the game and using it only for making bombs seems rather limited

I'm sure you military guys have a different view of it. @Malcador: Yeah, it'll be interesting to see where Trump takes it next. Though NK has reverted to their usual rhetorical playbook.

Maybe those right wingers should totally create a fashion magazine so that they aren't offended. Oh wait, there aren't enough right wing celebrities to go around, oh well. /s

It didn't make me rage, but it does raise eyebrows, like "what the heck are you doing/why the heck are they back-to-school-items?" Just another corporate marketing fail really.

Maybe they SHOULD try to send Dennis Rodman to calm Kim Jong-Un down.

Algroth, Beyond The Sea and I, among others, were discussing the inclusion, or lack thereof, of different kinds of romances. Romances from BW games were used as examples, mostly in terms of approach. If anything is a personal attack, I'd say it's storming in and demand everyone shut up. I understand not liking games by a particular developer, but the degree to which BioWare seems to set people off is... odd, to say the least. +1 to morty here, and I checked the past few pages and it looks pretty civil. @flintlock: Maybe you could give some examples of non-bioware romance stuff, since you're so intent on not including bioware.
