Well, it was the oil tanker (that, thankfully, wasn't actually carrying cargo at the time) that struck it, not the other way around. And yes, I too, am wondering what the heck is going on. This is barely two months after the USS Fitzgerald, and 10 sailors are missing this time.

That made me look it up. Lol the asian one. And it doesn't do a meshing transformation, it just flips.

Is that from one of those survey things that determine whether you are A, B, C, (and so on down the alphabet) and are mostly for fun? It kind of reads like the results from one that is politically based.

the only way to fight religious extremism is with religion. there are strict rules about going to heaven in islam so if we want to stop these attacks by people who do them because they were promised a spot to heaven for them, is to deny them that spot and the rest will think twice before trying to do the same And how do you do that? The muslim form of excommunication? Which, incidentially means to stone them to death.

Looks like the animosity between Spanish and Catalan officials (and general animosity between the two) may have contributed to the Spanish terror cell not being caught earlier. Not saying that it was THE reason why, but as we've seen in other cases in Europe (Belgium comes to mind) where authorities weren't really cooperating with each other as far as intel goes, the lack of cooperation between authorities can definetly cause problems.

Yes, they have been closed for quite a while now. However, since the badge is completely independent from the donations, the badge itself is still available for purchase on the backer portal. So you can still get it. Mind you, the badge never had anything to do with the funding of the Black Isle Bastards. Does the money still go towards the game? i think i heard that money wouldn't go towards the fig goals. They're done with the fig goal stuff, and I'd assume the money would go towards the game.

More like he bullied them into playing ball with him. Did have to make a few compromises like an establishment based VP. Though he did have some initial second thoughts and was like "Can I change my mind? Is it too late to change my mind?".

Correct.

Not completely disconnected from the Republican party, there's still Pence and some other Cabinet members. But in terms of the rest of the WH staff and Trump burning political capital, yeah, they've pretty much severed themselves from the Republican party.

Heh, CNN source says Kelly ain't done with the streamlining effort.

Is that like, the Russian translation of Brietbart? Anyhow, they're definetly rallying to his defense, with one senior editor going #WAR in a tweet. Incidentially, WH staffers are saying that he was supposed to have been fired two weeks ago, but it got put off.. Which gives some credence to the Brietbart/Bannon line that he had resigned on the 7th. The only real precedent is when a major scandal happens, but it feels like theres a major scandal or a major development to a scandal every week or every other week.
-
Some are saying that Trump wanted him out and Bannon and his allies are saying that he resigned, so, it's more like each side trying to spin it favorably.

edit: Showed up on BBC pretty quick. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-40978446

Libya was also compounded by the fact that none of the combatants in the West went in to actually stabilize things. Obama tried to not make George W Bush's mistake by simply not putting boots on the ground and just ended up leaving a vacuum. As much of a multifaceted problem Iraq is, if Bush had pulled troops out right after felling saddam rather than stick around and help set up a government, Iraq could have been worse off. We could have made Europe do it, but we're really the only one (well, okay, China could, as they have the numbers) with the resources to actually pull off a long term occupation.

Trump likes the badass schtick, obviously.

Lol, talk about international ostracization, Dailystormer has been booted off it's .ru domain,

Depending on which 'sides' you mean, heh. Also, BBC live says that one suspect has been killed in a shootout. Again, very little information atm.
-
Now he needs to condemn the one in Charlottesville. As for who the suspects are, yeah, they say they have one in custody and another is on the run, possibly hiding in a bar or something, but identity hasn't been released yet. edit: Actually, police have released a photo of the suspect, who was born in morocco: http://www.bbc.com/news/live/40966524 Still too early to assume much though.

It's Texas. *shrug*

I'd say what you get there is basically all true. However it doesn't necessarily capture all the factors and arguments that would be part of it's context. Just as we are seeing now with the political polarization, the War in Iraq was marred by public opinion. Forget just the average American and their potentially highly flawed takes on everything, look to the political and media class. The Democrats will forever hold blood on their hands for their opportunistic reversal. They became tepid of addressing they responsibilities that our Nation held, in fact the tepidity had existed long before the 2000's media circuits. We really should have gone in during the Clinton years, but they cared more about domestic optics and legacy. Unlike the stock market crash of 2008 which I think objectively hurt the US more than the War economically, it wasn't the previous administrations fault that Obama had to inherit that mess. W. Bush however did inherit the grid lock and increasing inaction against terror that plagued the Clinton administration. Speaking domestically, the war took a toll on our economy, but no doubt we had been biding our time with regards to Saddam. We were already deployed in Afghanistan, if there was a time to handle Iraq then the time was also then. Obama's decision to pull out still may have been the right decision, given the turn our economy took. It certainly was wrong strategically. For all the mess that surrounded the war, I think it was ultimately service the American people owed to the region. The GOP should never have gone in under the false pretenses that they did, and the dems should never have played their dangerous virtue games. I think you can clearly see the ineptitude of the democratic parties foreign policy ideology under Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. But that is a whole other thing. At least the War in Iraq is more or less tied up, and any further activity in the region can be launched under a new campaign with hopefully better pretenses. I have a feeling we aren't out of the woods yet. Especially with regards to Russia. The ground Hillary Clinton ceded is appalling. Now look where we are with Russia... I can't help shake the feeling the dems wanted all the GOPs efforts to be for naught. I'm constantly reminded of their hubris in that era and how Iraq was such an easy topic for them to use for puff pieces with little regard for the Iraqi people. Basically it's complicated and it depends on how you define what 'disaster' is in this case. Determing whether it truly was a disaster will be up to future historians to make.
