  1. I only play PC on my 30" monitor, Xbox 360 games go on the 60" TV
  2. I don't see Crysis graphics being surpassed for a long time, and it's going to be sad seeing games in 2010 still not looking as good as a game released in 2007
  3. Safe Mode doesn't use any video drivers at all, so if it stops dead there, then it is likely a hardware issue, not sure though I need better description of what happens
  4. See if you can boot into Safe Mode
  5. haha worst fps ever
  6. We didn't turn it down to advanced, I voted against it

  14. They idle at 40-50C. I haven't measured in game yet though. If you look to the right of the cards, there's two 90mm fans stacked on top of each other that push air through the front, this helped me lower temps drastically last summer with the triple 8800s. The fans on the acrylic door are positioned so one blows in cool air, and the other is reversed so it can be like an exhaust for the hot air inside the case, this should help with air circulation around the cards I think
  15. Gonna eat Chinese for new year's. Like at the end of every other year
  16. Yeah, the only thing a quad will help me with is GTA 4. e8400 and the i7 are still pretty much equals in most game benchmarks, so I left it alone for now. And yeah gets lot's of DDR2 Ram it's cheap, you can probably get 8GB for under a hundred dollars these days. DDR2 performance compared to DDR3 in games is still only 2-3 fps, not worth the price premium for now

  19. I liked RA3! When it wasn't crashing that is
  20. My mom wishes me to inform you that for the amount of money that you use to power your computer, you could set up a grow op in your house and instead of losing money, you could make money. Money to fund your obscene computer requirements. haha, yeah never get a 30" monitor, you'll blow so much $$$ on getting games to run smoothly on it. They sure do look pretty though (CoD5 @ 2560x1600 with 4xaa and 90fps+ at all times) I just picked up a Thermaltake Toughpower 1200w, it's certified for 3x 280s, while my crappy old 1200w Decathlon was not. Also what's interesting is that the 280s were noisy on the old PSU, while they are dead silent on this one This would work better. Unfortunately, it can probably also kill a small elephant that touches it in the wrong place. Don't you need a special socket for that? Usually the max you can pull from a socket is 1250w, and I think that's where I'm capped at
