  1. Here is the thing. Sure, who cares if some threads that are mean to fat people get deleted. But it wont end there if the PC cult isn't held in check. They'll turn everything into a giant "safe space". First you get banned for posting a fat people meme, next you'll be getting banned for using the word "bossy" or something equally ridiculous.
  2. It Follows. Not bad. The premise has a nice way establishing tension and paranoia.
  3. Through giving birth?
  4. If you let SJWs have their way they'll make all the "problematic" elements like the new 'N' word. Drawing a beautiful sexualized woman (etc.) will become like drawing a jew stereotype caricature. So not censored by government but in practice you can't anyway. PS. For the potential idiot. No, I'm not saying you should throw the word **** around like every other word, etc.
  5. This is getting more ridiculous by the minute. Honestly there doesn't need to be an explanation. No one should have to make historical/cultural justifications. Yes diversity is nice. Yes it would be great to see cultures and peoples that we are less used to. But no specific individual group of people has any responsibility to be making that and they do nothing wrong by doing what they feel like doing. They are a bunch of creators not a public service provider. There is no problem and nothing here is "problematic". Here is a bunch of polish guys making a polish story. It is the way it is and only means that bunch of polish people like a polish story made with characters who look like the polish. They don't owe you a ****ing explanation and no *****wit hipster writers should be imposing any kind of guilt and insults on them. Because there is no guilt to be had.
  6. Like I said before they decided to change the already perfectly fine definition of racism because of the many times their hypocrisy has been pointed out to them. Now they act like their newly baked definition is like the holy word and don't you even dare use the original.
  7. People fall over themselves for their games so why would they even bother.
  8. There is this thing that people like Anita S. and others do when they get compared to let's say Jack Thompson. Which is they differentiate themselves on the basis that as I paraphrased before, "We are not saying it affects behavior. But it does affect attitudes." And my stance is that it's bs. Because what they are saying is just in essence a more nuanced explanation of Jack Thompson's crude and clumsy arguments. It is nothing more than PR.
  9. Talking about the complexities of media influence and it's place as part of the general culture influences sounds more like an explanation of the basic statement of "Games make you X". It is the how not the I'm actually saying something different.
  10. Wouldn't be difficult to describe it as such.
  11. That is not a strawman. It is a crude and ineloquent way of saying the exact same thing. If media can cause people to have misogynistic attitudes then it's causing them to be misogynist and if it works on a subconscious level then mind-control isn't the worst comparison.
  12. Ok.... someone explain to me the whole "We are not saying it affects behavior. But it does affect attitudes." And the difference is? Attitudes affect behavior. To me that is just mascaraing to try and differentiate yourself from sounding like all the would be censors of times past while essentially saying the same exact thing.
  13. "Prejudice plus power" was invented by hypocrites to safe guard themselves when talking about white people and men. When you've got prejudice based on skin color or sex you are a racist or sexist respectively. Period. Supporting it when it's done and berating people when it's not are different things.
  14. I have no doubt the monetary perks are driving a lot of their behavior.
  15. I can see how the 2 hour thing can be a problem for a Gone Home sized game.
  16. Not surprised even a little.
  17. ^ And freedom needs spelling lessons. :D
  18. If Witcher 3 outsells DAI I doubt it'll have anything to do with how the women look.
  19. There isn't an automatic "recommended settings" function that has ever gotten it right for me. I always tweak if I use it at all.
  20. Devs can make ugly women (or whoever) if they want. What's the problem exactly? It's exactly the attitude of the crazy social justice types who think if you're not doing it their way than it is a problem.
  21. So having seen it and it's very good. The reviews were very much exaggerating Max having little presence. The formula is pretty much true to the spirit of how Mad Max is known. He is a wanderer that stumbles into other peoples stories and plays an important part. He did here too, a very defining decision towards the end is driven by him. I guess it could have been different if they rebooted with Max's origin story again. Furiosa is pretty great. But her story is sort of the final chapter of a character arc that's happened before the movie began. There isn't much to develop just act and it's all in the acting.
  22. That's why this game of readying a political message into every puddle of water is so asinine. Because if you play that game then... Anita is actually right. Everything about the movie is completely (stereotypically) masculine. The bada-- female character may have a vagina, but she is a "real man" through and through, it's not her femininity that's being worshiped. Now if the good guys could win through a rejection of "toxic masculinity" then we could talk.
  23. The bad guys chasing the protagonists are a patriarchy built from macho warrior culture staples that treats women like property and the destination is apparently So twitter SjWs are in full masturbatory mode over what they see. Which is so utterly ironically... the guilt free smashing and dehumanization of the "toxic" good for nothing dudebros... Feels so good, the guilt free "smashing" that is... Toxic masculinity, wut?
