Did Obsidian make any sort of appearance in GDC?
Winterwolf replied to Winterwolf's topic in Computer and Console
Exactly. And it's been like 2 months since Chris last updated his blog. What's up with that? Not that I'd check his blog everyday, but there's something fishy going on. -
Did Obsidian make any sort of appearance in GDC? I've been looking but all I've got was interviews with magic man's and Bioware's doctors. And since Gearbox revealed their Aliens game then how long does it take for Obsidian to reveal its Alien game? Will Obsidian reveal anything in this year? When will the mass media of gaming realize that Obsidian is cool? It's been like 4 years already and Obsidian still is put aside as the little brother of Bioware.

Well it seems I'm not the only one who finds the screenshots ugly. Perhaps they look better in motion?

Harry Potter is probably a total of three and a half good books in a series of seven, but that's only my opinion, of course. I would probably play Kingdom Hearts if there were a PC version. Disney is cute. Why isn't there a PC version? But those three and half books and Alfonso Cuaron's take on PoA were really enjoyable experiences.

That guy (Drew Karpyshyn) is a complete hack. Yuck! It seems that every individual moments of brilliance in writing in Bioware games were written by David Gaider. Which makes me wonder why he hasn't been a lead writer yet? Is he the lead writer on Dragon Age? Does anyone know that? Hopefully they keep Drew away from it. Edit: Okay, I assume that not all ****ty things were made by Drew - Jade Empire had other lead writers. But it makes me wonder that how to you tell these guys apart if they all produce similar stuff?

Just finished playing Suikoden II. Now playing Harvest Moon: Back to Nature.

No it's not. It's a dark and angry Mickey, full of hatred and pain.

Hey guys, don't be so mean. Kids these days love Kingdom Hearts, because Tetsuya Nomura (the director) knows what kids these days like. Emo Mickey.

Does Obsidian intend to make an RPG like FO?

Actually that`s not so far away from the truth. I`m one of those who would buy anything with Chris Avellone`s name attached to it... even if it would be "The Erotic Adventures of Winnie the Pooh". I`m pretty much like the Guy 1 in the following story. Guy 1: "Hank, you know that I don`t like your silly hentai games, with their wierd japanese humor and all that. Guy 2: "Oh really? But it`s made by Chris Avellone." Guy 1: "Where?!?! What?!?! When!?!?! Why didn`t you tell it in the first place!" Guy 1 storms behind the computer only to witness a scene with a busty scantily-clad vampire chick. Vamp chick: "Know that I devour in silence, for I am naught more but an echo of life." Guy 1: "Yes!! Wow!! So beautiful, so poetical! It`s like he writes for my soul, you know what I -
Good for you.

Although not a professional site, Mobygames is basically IMDB of games. Unfortunately most of the reviews are also on the level of IMDB (however, there are few top reviewers whose reviews are just fun to read), but still it`s the only gaming site that I know that covers almost everything ever created in gaming.

Both. I tend to play females when I find male characters too ugly or fell in love in some pretty face or body shape - NWN, Morrowind, Oblivion, Bloodlines, U5: Lazarus, Martian Dreams were all played with only female characters. In othes games it was usually both, except Kotor 2 - but that`s because I had a bit too close connection with the game. I just realized that when I play female characters I tend to roleplay more, with males I just play Jean-Luc Picard again (albeit a more tormented, darker Jean-Luc Picard).

Yesterday watched The Company of Wolves. It was the starting movie for the movie festival that takes place here in the autumns. Beautiful film, I haven`t seen something that satisfying for a long time. That girl, visuals, the dreamy atmopshere, David Warner, wolves.... just enchanting. Sometimes it just so nice to see old movies on big screen. Neil Jordan was also supposed to be there, but something came up. At least he will be there when they show Interview with the Vampire.

Chrono Trigger....extremely silly and I hold no love for it`s gameplay...but it`s so damn cute!!!

This is my attempt to make an intelligent posts on romances....don`t judge me. Personally I like the idea, but not the style in nowadays romances. This playing shrink for potential bed-mates is really tiresome. Actually now thinking about it my best romance experiences were not really romances. Frigidazzi in Serpent Isle practically raped the Avatar....ah, I really liked Ultima 7, it had plenty of these "you thought you rule but you really suck" moments....with all of the half of population of the world dying thingie. Anyway I liked Katrina from Quest for Glory 4 also....she wanted to kill the Hero and ended up dead...beautiful. It seems I like them when they are more hinted at rather than fully drawn out. Or perhaps it is because all these fully frawn out Biowarian romances seem to me to have too much similarities with cheap romance novel writing. It really feels like this to me: PC: I want to have wild sex with you. Possible romance option: My father broke all of my toys when I was little. Rince and repeat 10 times over. Romances have worked best for me when they have been subtly hinted at, creating the feeling right between not being in love and just about falling in love...you know, whe everything is intense and interesting. Bioware romances give me the feeling "happily" married....you know when your spouse is nagging at you for leaving your underwear in every possible location ever imagined to man. Personally I especially like it when romances give a little Quills moment (the scene with the priest and the maid)....when they end before even getting to sex or even first kiss. Now that`s tragedy, a true ironical "you thought you rule but you really suck" moment. That scene in Quills is one my most favorite scenes ever, and I wish to see that kind of writing more in computer game romances. True, across-the-stars romances have to be little wrong in some way (like incest in Elric for example) but not in the "my father broke my toys, oh please be my shrink" way. P.S I liked Anomen. That revenge scene of his owned me totally.

Sure. Business partners, eh? Only one question, if I live in tomorrow and you yesterday, then how can I make certain that you don`t spend all money in yesterday. Heck, how can we make certain that the guy who lives in today doesn`t walk away with our money....sigh, Time is a bummer. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Don't worry. All I want is a PS3 and a couple of games, which will consume my half of the prize... Now since in Canada Sony will ship a meager 35000 consoles, I will have to order one and wait. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That might be difficult, cause in my time USA started war with Canada....apparently Tricks or Treat gone horribly wrong, I`ll try to get those numbers as quick as I can, and then I advice you to go hide in some quiet place for a while. Another sad news, it seems that Bioware Headquerters was bombed....Ferret`s still alive though. EDIT: This here is that...ahem.."thing" we talked about earlier. Remember George? He is doing quite well. He wanted me to tell you that he is happy and that his dog`s name is 05 22 23 37 43 46 (33).

Currently listening the new Blind Guardian album. Can`t decide if I like it or not. This new style is too alienating. The refrain of Dead Sound of Misery sounds like HIM. Especially this part: The blood of sirens On my hands I can't wash away Still it pours And stains our land In bitterness So cruel Will ages go by Dead sound of misery Come share our sorrows Be one with the Hydra The lyrics are still Hansi`s LCD trips but the singing...oh my.

Going on basis that your assumptions are facts, soldiers and prisoners aren't the only people to commit rape. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> They were only examples. But in wars rape happens on a more massive scale. Tis a topic that I have wearied myself too much. You see I have Bubbaphobia - a fear of being raped by a fat black man called Bubba.

What does EDDO mean? But seriously, I don`t think that Internet porn decreas rape. Soldiers still like to rape the women of conquered nations, prisoners still like to rape other prisoners... human beings like to do evil, spreading internet porn doesn`t make humans more goody.

Hooray! Rape.

Confusing. I know Silmarillion by heart, I speak elvish for god`s sake, heck I even figured out what Matrix was about, whenever in a wierd sci-fi movie someone comes up with a wierd scientifical theory I always get it. Yet I don
