In game DLCs are good. Post campaign DLCs are good. For replayable games, I generally favour in-game DLCs, as content from those (be it narrative or items/systems) can contribute to consequent playthroughs. I am not sure Outer Words is quite as replayable as New Vegas or PoE1&2 to really benefit of it, but as I am readying for my 2nd playthrough - I don't mind. I didn't play Broken Steel (vanilla game bored me, so I didn't explore extra content), so can't comment. I generally feel that seperate campaigns need to be really robust to work on their own.

Dang Now I need to play the bloody thing, so I can watch another video-essay.

Is there a release date for DLC2?
Wormerine replied to Tencatta's topic in The Outer Worlds: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
March 17. Here is a fancy trailer. Production value just skyrocketed. -
I don't even know why I just watched a 4 minutes video listing minimum and maximum specs for a game, that I already know won't sweat my rig. Also I don't know how it took them 4 minutes.

Yeah, oddly enough moving out of repetivie dungeon area made LoG2 feel more aritificial then LoG1 -

Isn't it the one from Legend of Grimrock folks? I remember it getting favourable reviews when it was released, but never got around to playing it. Still have LoG2 to play really. Started it, and never continued. I finished my 1st playthrough of Dishonored2 - will definitely be back for more, but for now I moved on to Death of the Outsider. I was expecting the worst, considering poor reviews, but I think it is a great DLC so far. Levels are smaller, sure but packed and still full of the Dishonored goodness. I think I prefer it's power design. Deplatable mana system means I generally don't use much of anything beside blink and XRAY vision. Meanwhile, Death of the Outsider, allows for mana regeneration, meaning we are only limited in how many powers we use at one time. Also there are no "I win" powers like stop time or domino, which I think overall encourages more interesting gamestyles. I also appreciate the firesight - while clunky at least it prevents me from running in XRAY vision all times. Which for once I can finally the superb art direction those games have. -
His reasoning behind conversation box is very interesting. I do wonder whenever he has a point or not - personally, I didn't find Disco's UI any more engaging then, let's say, Pillars, but then again I am not from a generation raised on mobile phones (as a matter of fact, I dislike looking things up on my phone and prefer to boot up PC or use at least a tablet). I found Thought Cabinet rather underwhelming. Thematically it's cool, but systematically it's just a set of small buffs. I like how thoughts become available based on your roleplaying choices, but overall, it's just a far less impactful version of Fallout's perks. I don't think thoughts actually grant any unique dialogue choices. It seems to be to be more like Deadfire's ship combat, rather then a meaningful addition.

May I? If there are any per-person restrictions I am more interested in Mastermind. I bought Control just last month, so that's another skip for me. Too bad, this was, I think, first really strong selection since Humble Choice thing.

Ouch. Comeon, there is some enjoyment there to be found. The biggest issue for me, is that was is good there, made FiraXCOM really unenjoyable to me, while at the same time suffering from confusingly poor design. I will be giving it a go again, once Festering Skies drops.

Looks very very good. Keeping my finger's crossed for good reviews.

I suppose ideally you would have a strong campaign of NWN2, with gamemaster/modding/host your own adventure toolbox of NWN1. Personally all I care for is the singleplayer campaign. And considering the OP requested it on Obsidian forum, it could lead to conclusion that NWN3 should follow NWN2 rather then NWN1. Personally, I care not for DnD. But I would take another cRPG campaign from Obsidian. Be it DnD, Pillars, Pathfinder, or whatever other IP they could work with. If they were still independed I would suggest Divinity: Original Sin spinoff, while Larian is busy with BG3 - in good old Obsidian tradition in making better sequel/spinoffs to existing franchases on existing engines.

What Are You Playing Now: The meaning of life

Turns out Epic gave me GTA5 at some point, so I decided to give it a go - I didn't really play many Rockstar games, mainly side series LA: Noir, Max Payne3. I got Elder Scrolls syndrome - played for couple of hours, wasn't terribly engaged and I found it too boring to continue. I had most funs playing tennis. I am somewhat torn about giving RDR2. I would love a good Wild West game, and it is definitely more my style then whatever GTA is. It just looks so not very interesting. -
It seems that Systemshock remake is back on track. There is new demo available on Steam and GoG. It's pretty generous when it comes to content - first level I believe. I died before reaching the end, though I feel I have been reaching the end (playing for about 2 hours) - I don't think it supports saves right now. I never played Systemshock1, UI just seemed a bit too prohibitive, and so far I liked a lot what I played. It still feels like an old game but in good ways. There are few kinks - these is one bit when you play a game of Plummer while levitating - that was super awkward. I assume the Plummer minigame wasn't done in real time in the original. But overall, good stuff.

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-02-24/cd-projekt-hack-severely-disrupts-work-on-cyberpunk-game-updates Here is my conspiracy theory: CDPR hacked themselves and sold their stuff to make up for Cyberpunk refunds and to regain goodwill with public.

Yeah. Not much care for DLCs. That said I don’t think that’s kind of game that can nor should become Prison Architect. Not sure how I would want them to expand it.

Aaaaand it's sold out.

That's a good ad. I am itching for a good management game. I think I prefer more arcady fun ones. I had a great time with 2 Point Hospital. I tried Zoo Planet recently and once the attractive visuals became mundane I lost a complete interest... and I didn't even finish tutorial yet.

Oh no. But what about its 10 years plan?

Speaking of remasteres. I had no idea that Pharaoh is getting the remaster: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1351080/Pharaoh_A_New_Era/ Frankly, I own copy on GOG, and last time I checked it's perfectly playable so, meh. Nostalgia is strong with this one, though.

I wouldn't mind giving Freespaces another playthrough though. Think of it as an investment for Space Citizen

Or you can buy a stick. I am genuilly considering that (thrustmaster t 16000m?) though my pad's left stick is misbehaving, so maybe I will have to buy a new pad before that.

I think there is a difference between those two, at least in most cases. I assume to refer to Hollywood remakes, where is I see a good remaster to be closer to a blueray release of an older film. I like old games, and I like playing them - nostalgia, sure, but not always. There are plenty games I missed, and it's nice to be able to experience them in a more modern setting. Especially, if those games aren't otherwise available for digital sale, or don't run easily on modern systems. I am less fond of heavily modified remakes - though I must say I did enjoy quite a bit the recent Mafia remake. I actually need to play C&C - never played it before. First I need to finish the Homeworlds.
