  1. I haven't played DX:IW, but the ammo crap isn't something that would have been likely to bother me.
  2. Deus Ex guru speaks up. For those not in the know, after leaving Ion Storm, he founded Junction Point studios (which now houses 23 devs), and is now making a game to be released digitally via Steam. It's a new IP, which details to come up at GDC. http://www.gamasutra.com/features/20070305...ffield_01.shtml
  3. The Open Palm cutscene for that sidequest was the best part of the game. Likely due to the music fitting the scene perfectly.
  4. Yes, it never gets tiring to see the fanvampires cry themselves to sleep over it.
  5. It's very outdated graphically, if you care about that. Some people will rant about how it has the greatest story ever, but erm, HA HA HA HA HA. The game's most outdated aspect is the horrible horrible HORRIBLE localization. Writing in games nowadays may not be perfect, but it's eons beyond FF7. And are you sure 40 is the cheapest you can find it? Given that it's gone Greatest Hits and all, I doubt that. EDIT: Hmm, I just Froogled it. Hahaha what a rip-off
  6. I heard about Left 4 Dead http://www.l4d.com/ a while back. Basically, developed by TurtleRock (the dudes making new maps/AI for Counterstrike Source) with a big helping hand from Valve. Everyone's been turned into zombies, 4 survivors. Coop mode. I mean, coop + zombies speaks for itself. Sounds like an ideal game, I just wonder why I haven't really been paying any attention to it. This is all they've shown in terms of footage so far http://youtube.com/watch?v=K4zvNRfoom0 Latest impressions here http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=73583 which specifies that there's a campaign of about 20 maps. You can also play as the zombies.
  7. In case you dolts missed out, JE has a blog ^___^ http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?au...p;blogid=3&
  8. Hey, Shadowstrider, wanna talk about Jade Empire 2 yrs after it came out? *wink wink*
  9. Of course it's not the same. You don't need a disk in your drive to play.
  10. The problem is likely that they haven't really shown us any new content since the very beginning (or at least since we've seen video footage). The clip wasn't bad, but it fails to show us what seems to potentially be the game's strength - a living breathing world in which you're free to interact with the world in meaningful ways (to what extent, we'll see - maybe it'll be an elaborate FPS at best, maybe more). It's a video, and the devs already planned out what they want to show us, so there's no real surprise there. I haven't been massively impressed with what I've seen so far, and I haven't played SS2, so I can't say I'm too excited about the game, but time will tell. Then again, I'm not that big a fan of sandbox games/'emergent' gameplay. Unless they pull it off incredibly well.
  11. That's just Capcom playing dumb. People complained about it for Lost Planet and they fixed it for people with SDTV's.
  12. I just got Armed Assault from their digital distribution site. Downloading now.
  13. Looks like this is the reason for many people around here to ponder a 360. New screenies http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/rpg/massef...tml?sid=6166671 Geez at level of detail.
  14. Just wait until the games you want come out, Eldar. There's little point in pulling a Volo if the titles you want aren't out yet. Unless you really really want Kameo.
  15. Every PC game that gets a console equivalent is selling out and dumbing down. But console games need to be on PC, because making them on more platforms means more money.
  16. Hmm, yes. Speaking of which, Magical Volo, since you have the Premium version, you should have a free month of Live. Just get on Marketplace and download some demos instead of buying Kameos.
  17. Wait, you PAID for Kameo? R00FLES
  18. Probably the only mounted combat I've ever seen. Hehe, I love the mounted combat in that game, though I only played the demo, really. If they built an actual game around the combat, it'd be pretty nice. I haven't actually been following it, actually. Are they out of beta?
  19. No, listen! You're a bloody sucker who'll get to play Mass Effect, you hear?
  20. Well, I finished Jade Empire after a little over 20 hrs. It was overall a solid effort from Bioware. The story wasn't anything great, but it wasn't necessarily bad, either. The writing was solid. The gameplay was enjoyable enough, but fairly repetitive and not having too much depth to it. The setting was interesting, but there could have been so much more to it. I didn't have a problem with the length. It was starting to feel long enough, I might have felt it dragging if it lasted longer. Then again, that could have been from the way the game was presented, since - as I mentioned - there could have been a whole lot more to it. The pacing overall wasn't bad, though. The best part was hands-down the music. Maybe I'll get the soundtrack. I'd give it a solid score. Nothing great (aside from the music), but nothing outright bad, either. I find it fairly comparable to other Bioware products.
  21. Yeah, looks like hotkeys for switching styles.
  22. I thought this comment on that page was the most appropriate. It's funny because it's true!
  23. I also plan to move to the great United States of America!
  24. I'm not really sure I see the point of a 120-gig HD and a HD-DVD Drive built-in. Sure, they're nice, but that just means an inflated pricetag. The only crap I put on my 360's HD is game data and downloading demos. I definitely wouldn't pay more to upgrade beyond 20 gigs. And I don't need a HD-DVD drive. I use the system to play games.
  25. And it only took 2 years!
