  1. Dangerous Waters is a modern sub sim. The real advantage it has is multi-stations coop. Which is awesome.
  2. It's pretty much CC3 redux. Improved interface +/- AI, some changes for more historical accuracy. There's also an extra grand campaign with 26 new maps. For mp, there's also a new 'map of Europe' metagame, where players duke it out 1on1 on different parts of the map to gain ground for their side.
  3. This isn't an action game. The point is to get a broad view of the battlefield. Besides, I don't need to zoom in close to enjoy their deaths. Their cries of agony is more than enough.
  4. In terms of games I'm more actively playing currently, let's see... I've only just barely started playing Close Combat - Cross of Iron. Pretty awesome real-time system. The slow pacing is quite nice. The psychological aspect of warfare seems to fairly well-implemented. I'm still plowing through Hotel Dusk for the DS. The story/writing is still quite compelling. The presentation is very nice. The pacing could use a bit of work, but the rest makes up for it. About 5 hrs in at this point. In terms of SRPGs, I'm playing through Super Robot Taisen Original Generation 1. Gameplay-wise, it's fairly standard SRPG fare so far, but with giant robots of destruction. This is my guilty pleasure. There's quite a remarkable amount of text for a SRPG, and with Atlus' localization, quite appreciated. Fun game.
  5. Gobble gobble.
  6. Ever played Dangerous Waters, dear archnemesis?
  7. Why hasn't anyone suggested body parts yet?
  8. The Close Combat maps looks awesome in widescreen.

  10. Aliens RPG is vapourware! 2009? What lies! Obsidian hasn't told us ANYTHING about the game!
  11. The CC3 remake is out and available for digital download. Purchasing now. http://www.matrixgames.com/games/store.asp?gid=335
  12. I've played about 5 hrs of Hotel Dusk. Excellent DS adventure game so far. The whole setting is set around a hotel, so there's some freeroaming environment there. The story is fairly linear, though. You do, however, get some (limited, but not inconsequential) dialogue branches. Storytelling and writing so far is topnotch (aside from a few rare typos). The style is exquisite. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yu81eGsy-eU
  13. The devs made Nexus - The Jupiter Incident, an excellent but overlooked space fleet simulation. This game isn't Nexus 2, so it fails by default. Though, actually, I can't say I've looked too much into it, but I haven't really been motivated to do so for suspect design decisions, eg. action components, console versions. Not that there's anything intrinsically wrong with that. The problem in this case is that there are probably better action games out there, and this isn't what I've loved about Nexus. I'd probably have looked more into it if it were more dissimilar to that game. I can enjoy hybrids for their action side of gameplay when I'm not expecting more from the devs. I'm turning into Hades. Just bloody tell me if I need to download the demo. Heck, maybe I'll get that on the 360.
  14. Finally got Hotel Dusk and Phoenix Wright 2 from bloody Amazon.
  15. If CoM is the only DS game you got, I kind of feel bad for you. DS games don't cost 50 bucks.
  16. Haha, never getting localized :(
  17. http://www.gamequestdirect.com/045496733421.html It's a rip-off, but considering that it's virtually impossible to find new, I figured it was worth a shot. Urg @ international shipping fees.
  18. Well, I just went on a GBA binge and ordered Fire Emblem (geez, this was tough to track down) and FE Sacred Stones, as well as Super Robot Taisen Original Generation 1 and 2. Screw you SRPG drought.
  19. I think it had a poor SNES version as well.
  20. No, Role-Player. Screw you. It's nice for PSP fans. The nicest part will be the inclusion of both the original RoB and SotN. Can't say the 2.5D remake is really appealing. At this anyway, the gameplay footage looks pretty lackluster. I just prefer the old 2D style more. Music quality is nice, though. In any case, no complaints from me. Iga is already expressing the intention to continue making more DS titles with the DS team, so that'll all fine with me. I've just played the 2 DS ones recently, so this one can be take a long time to come. Gimme 1999, jerks.
  21. I think I've read it before somewhere else as well, but here's the latest one I read. http://spong.com/detail/editorial.jsp?eid=...lid=&page=4 It's a FF3 interview, so they're asking about DS titles in particular, but "Hiromichi Tanaka: We can
  22. Aren't they ex-Red Alert guys? I forget.
  23. I think it's Vanguard, a new MMORPG recently released.
  24. It's the 20th anniversary of FF, and they'll be announcing more titles this year. FF1/2 are just the first titles announced, and for good reason. Just wait.
