How's the writing/story? Unless it's excellent, I can't really be bothered to reinstalled NWN1. I've been pretty much disappointed with virtually all community mods so far. Only the above could change that.

And being a standalone xpac, it's dirt cheap. Too bad Revolutions isn't standalone.

In a forum section where the majority probably doesn't even give a crap about any of the consoles, he's being quite successful. I know I ran out to buy a 360 after reading this thread.

Story-driven adventure doesn't rule out the possibility of an open-ended world. Heck, Oblivion was exactly that, only they completely screwed up the main storyline part. It was very possible to make a good story, with good branching multilinearity and actually compelling writing/characters, Bethesda just didn't pull it off.

I'm enjoying HoI2:DD a lot more than Civ4.

Man, I'm going to love FO3 if the devs realize the importance of jumping AND swimming. Maybe they'll even include awesome ninja robot suits that allow you to fly into space! Being the RPG gods that they are, though, the Bethesda dawgs already know that ^_________^ It'd really be the next-gen of RPG!

The gate/town defense of Drowville in HotU was the best part of that game. Having that on a larger and more complex scale should be fun.

Have you checked the devs' track record?

Never played that one, but I tried out the demo for Battles in Normandy by the same devs, also a hex-based TB wargame. It was ok, but didn't really manage to hook me in enough for a purchase.

I like how we state that as a bad thing then flipflop whenever a game tries to deviate from the norm in any significant way.

In contrast, Oblivion provided us with a brand new experience worth getting excited over by being a step down from its predecessor in all things Z-axis related.

Obs should make tactical games for the DS!
