  1. Maybe that's why the adventure genre died out
  2. The ideal solution, of course, is to provide options. Allowing for environmental puzzles all while making the enemies defeatable - though at a challenge level where it wouldn't make a difference to Hades whether they were invincible or not.
  3. Shut up before I benchpress your face, Nick.
  4. Hades is right. If it were real-life, I would have benchpressed that werewolf, like I could any of you dorks.
  5. I think it has more to do with the non-consequence than the non-linearity.
  6. Hades is right to some extent, though. It was bad design. He's blowing it out of proportions because he lacks limbs, but the point remains. It makes for uncompelling storytelling and gameplay. They could have integrated it in a much more approachable fashion. Just because it was easy for people with limbs doesn't make it good.
  7. Civ4 was my first game in the series. It was pretty fun, especially in coop. Since Hearts of Iron II, though, I have zero desire to replay Civ4
  8. You should sue Troika.
  9. Yeah, you kinda need manual dexterity too.
  10. Speaking of Sony victories
  11. Sony loves Europe <3 <3
  12. Aren't they goody-two-shoes robots who want salvation for one and all, with some sort of ulterior motive that no one can decipher? Or something?
  13. And profitable.
  14. Ok, I'm preordering as soon as I find out details surrounding this prerelease toolset.
  15. You losers are right on both counts.
  16. Hmm, good to know. That sounds promising. The four provinces bordering Belgium all have 3 forts, currently, and in the process of getting 2 extra each. The first should be done in 1-2 months. I should be fully finished by June. Having 5 forts per province will be quite useful. Of course, this requires that we delay them sufficiently until June. Time might be against us. I was hoping we'd be able to distract them past Maginot (and possibly gain some more territory, too) for a while, but it seems that's not really an option anymore. They're just plowing through us without proper fortifications. Doesn't bode well.
  17. So you PMed him for nothing. Isn't that harrassment?
  18. Which is why I need to mobilize my forces over there. I'm relying on you two to lead the defense of the Maginot Line, while I provide some support. I need more units near Belgium. I have a bad feeling about this.
  19. Yeah, but you have no qualms backstabbing your vampire brethen. It says a lot about the kind of person you are.
  20. ...... Yeah.
  21. Thanks for making habitats for us, Hades ^_^
  22. Because you're a vampire.
  23. The winter months have been long, and pretty much a stalemate. Though, as spring approaches, the UK forces in Stuttgart got hit pretty nastily from four fronts and had to retreat to the Maginot Line. We're still holding Saarbrucken, though I wonder if that'll last. On the upside, we're in a good defensive position thanks to the rivers. In any case, we can fall back to Maginot if need be. My concern now is the Belgian border. I've been amassing troops and fortifications there, but I'm not sure how long we'll hold. Once they breach, there isn't much to keep them from just reaching Paris. On the upside, we have air superiority. As the imminent invasion approaches, the plot thickens. This game has awesome build-up. The past 15 hrs or so have been preparation for the defense of France. Kick-arse.
  24. You steal men's souls and make them your slaves! PBEM.txt
  25. Hehe, small three-pronged offensive on Germany as they turn to Poland. 5-hr session with minimal progress, yet that was awesomely involving.
