  1. The biggest "flaw" with Fallout IMO, is it's lack of narrative. It's mostly just a wander around type game. Fortunately, given the specifics of the game, it's a game design that supports the lack of narrative. I have no problems with the random exploring in Fallout, since as a newb just leaving your Vault, you really have no reason to do anything BUT randomly explore Fallout for teh win!
  2. Interesting......I am now much geekier having read that. Thanks (w00t)
  3. Which is probably why you should save it for last. It's like a rock concert...no one's gonna stick around for the new, upstart band if the main band plays first I always save the best for last. If I play the good one first, the bad ones will seem doubly bad!
  4. Hey, I aim to please. And nanobots WOULD be cool.
  5. Why? If while playing the game they are no longer able to depict reality from fantasy anymore, than there is something else at work than merely playing the violent video games. Unless you are proposing that playing these games is actually the cause of the inability to depict reality from fantasy. However, the millions of people that do play violent video games and aren't sociopaths don't lend much support to your argument.
  6. What exactly does GURPS mean? And what type of PnP design is it? Everyone's going "GURPS this" and "GURPS that" and "oooh, would you like GURPS with that" and I feel out of the loop. I cannot maintain my elitist attitudes unless I have reason for my elitism.
  7. Well, we aren't all 99 years old :D
  8. Says you right now. Could you hold that stance when in every game you get r0x0red by the other gamerz0rs because they have l33t "headsets" Oooo, new sig!
  9. The big red X is less hyptnotizing
  10. Have you read my design doc???? I also am planning stuff like this too. It'll be a race between Llyranor and Co. and my group......it doesn't matter who's the best, it just matters who's first!!! :D
  11. I'm wonder when the day will come that that does become your control scheme. No more excuses about faulty controllers. You drove into that wall because you didn't think to turn!
  12. Because this isn't the KOTOR2 Forums. This is the "Other Games" forums.
  13. No experience with the FFTA. And yeah, you'd probably get wasted because the enemies are based on Ramza's level, and you just left the rest of your group in the dust :D
  14. I agree. If 0.1% of the people that play violent video games committ violent crimes. Rockstar sold over three million copies of GTA3. If GTA3 created violent people, why haven't there been at least ten thousand or so maniacal killers created? Henry Jenkins wrote an interesting article, and he bases his conclusions on scientific analysis and not dramatic, colourful emotional responses of anecdotal evidence. You can take a peek at his article, Eight Myths About Video Games Debunked, which at points refers to violence in video games. In particular, I like the observation that over 90% of young boys play violent video games. Basically what this means is that if a young boy commits a violent act, there's a good chance that he's played a violent video game, so these activists will have no shortage of ammunition in their crusade.
  15. Well you can max 1 "job" per map. It allows powerleveling to the nth power. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, I suppose that's a good point....but it's only abused if that's what you want to do. And given that it's a single player game, the only person's experience that is ruined is your own. I never did that, and I enjoyed the game I think it's just as broken as the people that cast pointless spells in "learn by doing" games at random intervals, just so that they get more experience doing it.
  16. Oi! First rule of brain-storming is no qualitative criticism. sorry, didn't realize this was just a brainstorming session!
  17. Even if they fixed bugs, would you still delay leaving the game?
  18. Well...you did just kinda spoil it for me
  19. Would it make sense for someone to just learn new things about the Force? I would suspect that smiply learning to manipulate the Force is going to be a damned hard thing to do, considering examples like Luke being Force Sensitive is whole life, but not even knowing it existed until he received training. And as for learning something that normal Jedi/Sith would never have known...I think it would kind of be like one of us discovering something in physics that teams of physicists never discovered, despite their years of research.
  20. Errr.....why would you tell me that?
  21. Coop makes crap games good. Like Serious Sam
  22. Errr, I don't think Taris the planet is gone. It's just been bombarded to bits. A lot like Telos. And he had a whole fleet blockading the planet, so it wasn't just one ship.
