  1. I always thought the Exile was just bouncing around from planet to planet, and just happened to end up in the wrong place at the wrong time.
  2. True. EDIT: Although I still contend that even on a video game board Bastila's popularity would be less pervasive without the romance. I also wonder if the quantity of fanclubs for Leia/Padme has more to do with the larger population base to take the samples from. I also didn't limit it to just a Bastila Phenomenon. I think it's why people hold characters like Annah or Aeris in higher regard too. And I think it has more of an effect if the PC the player is playing is more their own, which would explain the Viconia fans and whatnot. In any case, agreed to disagee.
  3. Why should we be scared of China growing in economical and cultural power?
  4. Here's one that piques my interest. Considering seeing Fantastic Four just for her:
  5. I'd rather we get Modano.....can't see that happening however. It would be super-duper amazing cool if we could snag that Forsberg-Naslund package :D
  6. Have you looked into the study at all? The study certainly does not mean that people are no longer responsible for their actions.
  7. Yup. I don't consider any of the minor characters to be among the "sexiest" characters because we don't see enough of them. "Sexy" is much more than just a physical appearance, but that's not what this thread is about. But I still contend that it's the emotional involvment that creates the gajillion Bastila fan threads on Bioware's. Even keeping the exact same "screen time" simply making her a character in a movie would lessen her appeal in my opinion. People consider Revan to be 'their' character, so any reactions directed towards Revan are indirectly interpreted by the player as being towards the player himself. Emotional attachment is VERY strong, and in my opinion it's clear by the insane amount of fanboi threads, as well as the pages of fanfic of Revan's and Bastila's romance that people have a very strong emotional attachment to both their characters. You don't see this type of attachment very often towards movie characters.
  8. Yup. Unfortunately we have the misfortune of having hindsight. It's easy to say you'd still pick her, but the statement of saying you'd still pick her is still influenced by the decisions actually made. Unfortunately we'll never know, because all of our hypothetical decisions are still affected by the current reality. By not having Bastila a romance you would take out a lot of the personal emotional investment that, if you just look around the forum, many people apparently had. If we were to take things a bit further, and had KOTOR be a movie where no one would be able to claim that "they" were Revan, then there'd be less emotional attachment still. I suspect that if the Star Wars movies were actually interactive video games, with Leia and Padme as romance options (or any other character for that matter), they'd score a lot higher because you'd have people that would actually have some emotional attachment to that character.
  9. I really enjoyed it. My school suffered as a result. I liked the atmosphere and the action and the music and especially Ravenholm (even though it scared the crap out of me). The spooky tone of the game, combined with some excellent art (Nova Prospekt, Ravenholm, heck almost anywhere) shot it up to the top of my all time favourite games list (behind only Half-Life and Deus Ex). At first, the ending was a bit of a surprise...but then when I thought about it, I realized it was just as confusing and "WTF" as the first one was. Although the Final Chapter itself was definitely a lot better in HL2 than in HL. Xen just didn't seem as fun as the rest of the original IMO.
  10. Hahaha. How's the talks going with Richard's skeletal remains? Can we expect to see him in a Leafs jersey this year? EDIT: In other shocking news, Steve Yzerman has resigned with the Wings.
  11. Meh, I heard people call the AWP the n00b cannon because for the most part it's one shot kill. I personally feel that the autoshotgun sucks ass, and I much prefer the pump action shotty. I've been a fan of the MP5 and the M4 since beta 2. Although in beta 4 I used the P90 like everyone else. People often considered the P90 to be the beta 5 weapon, but that's only because everyone started using it in beta 4 because of it being a full auto sniper rifle with a huge magazine. My friend and I would always beat up on P90s with our MP5s in beta 5. I was also a big fan of the G3/SG-1 until they nerfed it. That gun used to be absolutely amazing.
  12. I personally agree. I think a lot of people are smitten with her voice. I still contend that if she wasn't a romance option, she'd not even be a contender.
  13. Neither game was hard. The combat was not the reason to play either game IMO.
  14. You'd think I'd know better. Maybe I said what I said because I assume other people don't know to not take you seriously...yes yes that's it!
  15. I've heard lots of rumors of Edmonton being very interested in Jason Allison. Especially considering we have been actively pursuing him for the past couple of seasons.
  16. I always love how the AWP was the "n00b" cannon, when the only people I ever saw do really well with it were in fact, really good players.
  17. I take everyone too seriously. Sarcasm is hard to detect on the Internet
  18. It makes sense that Halo feels like Marathon. They exist in the same Universe. There are references to Marathon in Halo. As for the inspiration, the developers themselves commented about how much Half-Life had inspired them. And this was before they went to XBox and I quit following the development of that game.
