  1. We should probably rename this forum in such a way that people don't think it's the tech support forum.
  2. Hahaha I remember that.
  3. Computer Games, Basketball, and hockey.
  4. If you haven't gotten it by now, with your numerous inquiries, you probably won't.
  5. Yup. For him it was all about justice. And his drive for justice was sooooooo strong that it continued on long after the life of his body.
  6. Errr. What "obvious" reasons are there? Considering I think that Closed Battle.net >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Open Battle.net, it certainly isn't obvious to me.
  7. We all have to make sacrifices ^_^
  8. Flurry Flurry Flurry Flurry. Flurry with powerful weapons and master speed is goofy. I sent Malak running for the hills to sap the captured Jedi after a single attack round in Kotor 1. In Kotor 2, I did the same for Sion every time I saw him. He'd regen, one attack round. I don't remember spamming it with Traya though. I do remember repeatedly hitting '2' to keep casting Force Crush which seemed to have her in a permanent loop of not being able to do anything until she died. The sad thing is, if I just used standard attack I doubt the game would be much harder. Combat in the KOTORs is nothing beyond easy.
  9. Well, since I apparently missed it, I'll go with Lawful Neutral, based on the character comparison of Vhailor from Planescape: Torment.
  10. I think a lot of "pity" comes in response to seeing how other people act. I could definitely see it when I worked as a manager in a restaurant. When a waitress has a particularly unruly table, and the rest of her section is full, she typically doesn't mind in the end. Assuming she is at least somewhat decent at her job, she'll often rake in more money with "pity tips" from the rest of the tables in her section. The pity percentage goes up the more unruly the table too it seems.
  11. I've started asking my friend to make sure he pays for his own copy, and fills out his registration with comments saying "I bought this for Coop mode!" just to do as much as possible to drive the point home.
  12. Hardcore is infinitely better. Knowing you have to be at least a BIT careful when fighting that lightning enchanted boss makes the game so much more satisfying. It did suck when some ass munch invited you to a party and proceeded to gank you with the hydras. As a funny aside, some guy tried doing that to me, and the second I saw the guardians I hid behind a corner just as he went hostile. I then went back to town. He was "LOLing" me like crazy, until I told him that he had nothing to laugh about since he couldn't even PK me with the cheapest character possible. I also remember my friend having a barb that was so powerful (thanks phat l00t!) that it seemed he could not die. Some high level sorc came into a game and started trying to PK, so he jumped into his barbarian. IIRC it had insane life leech, lightning absorb (he loved fighting lightning enchanted bosses, as it actually healed him), and max resistances to every thing else. He could pretty much solo the Arcane Sanctuary while only having to be a "bit careful" when the mass iron maiden casts came up, as he would do a slight amount of damage to himself. While the Sorc stayed too close to town and would keep hiding before getting killed, my friend took no damage. It was hilarious watching two 90s go at it and the hotshot PKer was reduced to cowering in town. And IMO, the only reason why someone would want to play an open battle.net player is because they want to cheat (or at the very least don't mind it at all, and want to play their LAN characters online...but this typically results in you playing with only friends).
  13. Coop campaign is fun. Second best is (depending on the game title) MP campaign. I'd love to be able to play a game like Call of Duty or Rome: Total War in the campaign mode with a friend. Heck, it's why I even picked up a game like Europa Universalis.
  14. That's easy to say when you're not in that situation though. I agree that pity is not the best solution, but it's going to come the second the ass monkey's in the world notice her in real life. The possibilty of this person having a life remotely as "normal" as the vast majority of people is zero percent.
  15. Or if they just don't want recent applications. DOS? Yeesh. I wouldn't consider a somewhat functioning GUI to be "eye candy," but if I'd like to play pretty much any game (or application for that matter) in the last 8 years, you better be using at least Win9x. Newer applications coming out no longer support Win9x anymore though.
  16. I've never OC'd a DAC. I didn't even know you could. But unless I couldn't get my resolution with refresh rate, I'm not sure I'd even see the need.
  17. There's still a decent number of people playing in the Closed Battle.net servers by my roommate's account. Though not quite as many in hardcore, which is the only mode my friends and I play in.
  18. Gotta pay off that schooling somehow.
  19. Rip's in another TIMEZONE!
  20. No no no. That will take away from the fun of the Bush bashers!
  21. Still seems a bit introspective. How does one conclude that he or she exists? Or better yet, how can we demonstrate that something that isn't "self-aware" is incapable of understanding he or she exists?
  22. What does it mean to be self-aware?
  23. Something for you to think about.
  24. I've seen dogs that have reacted to their reflection like they do to other dogs, and others that don't.
