  1. I did notice that doing a better job of dealing with bandits resulted in neighbours requesting my help.
  2. The original plan was Humans, Dwarves, and Elves as the dominant races. Since I am convinced that tweaking the races and classes may be much easier than I expected, I may end up cutting them down to those 3.
  3. I'll give the evil version (if I can remember it all). I may have gotten some of those wrong, but that's roughly what happened.
  4. Considering the game was labelled as an action-RPG, I'm not too surprised about the combat. Though I still cannot see the video....
  5. NHL

    We must cheer against FCP!
  6. Why humans and planetouched? Would you just keep the Aasimar, or also the Tiefling?
  7. Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's where most people get caught up on. I don't mind less than happy endings though, so I wasn't particularly disappointed. The evil ending has some pretty nasty things happen.
  8. Sounds about right to me. I am planning on getting rid of the supernatural planetouched people in mine as well. THough it's still fantasy, so I still expect to allow dwarves and whatnot. I'll need to tweak the builds a bit as well, because I don't want any uber classes like the Drow. I may still have dark elves, but maybe not as a player class, or perhaps not as a class that is so much more powerful than a different class. Though at the same time, it would be kind of neat to create maybe a medieval game, and only have a human race, and have classes like Archer, Warrior, and so on.
  9. I wonder if you'll skip a lot of the fights, since there wouldn't be any need to bring siege towers to the wall and whatnot.
  10. You might be able to find some hooks if you explore the .2DA files. I already found out about some prestige classes that were apparently cut, and other stuff like that, and I only looked for about 10 minutes or so.
  11. I've already scratched those ideas down myself!
  12. Oh, it'll probably still be blue. If I start tweaking stuff like that, then people will be too unfamiliar with the environment and freak out. But when I say that, I mean it won't be set in a D&D universe, nor will it have any D&D characters. It will contain D&D classes, because IMO there's not much sense to completely overhauling them, if I still want a d20 fantasy adventure. I am not really well versed in creating my own effects and art content, so I'll be limited in that respect. But I'm looking for story design when I do this, so I don't care. Though if someone were to want to make a nice .tga of an overland world map, I wouldn't overly complain. I'd rather not use the default one and just call it something else. But I will if you force me! God help me I will!
  13. Yeah I noticed that. While it's cool and fun to think about what they could do with them, at the same time they could still just be left overs from the Bioware engine as well. Plus some of the stuff was cut I think this is going to be fun! Which 2DA (or perhaps somewhere else) do all those string references point to? I see things like "LowerName" and whatnot, often with a 5 digit number attached to it, and that looks like the meat and potatoes of the custom strings. Also, is there a way for a module to load up a custom .2DA for feats, rather than the default one. I'd rather not overwrite the current one, since I'm planning on making this mod for release and stuff like that is just a pain, since it means I have to tell people to make backups and whatnot.
  14. Ooooo, playing around with the 2DA editor. Looks like creating my own classes and whatnot is not going to be too difficult, same goes for restricting classes and races
  15. I'm not cutting them based on their power level. Though it's possible Drow will get cut as well, but I can make it work with the setting a bit more. I haven't played around too much with the content creation at the moment, so I still need to see what I can and cannot change, and so on.
  16. The one I am making is in my own world, not in D&D at all.
  17. I wonder if there was a console command that could have helped you out.
  18. How do you know that he's the same person. And besides, these things are usually popularity contests anyways. If there are some people that don't really like you, you're going to have to come up with something pretty freaking remarkable and unique to have any hope of winning.
  19. It should be Ember shouldn't it? Though I guess that still doesn't change the fact that it doesn't show up.
  20. Ultima 9 better run like a dream on your computer. It was released like 6 or 7 years ago.
  21. Well, I doubt there'd be a big giant announcement that person X has refused to become a moderator.
  22. wait a minute... something just ain't right with that statement. taks <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This is the project I am working on at the moment.
  23. It's funny, because I work with NWN at work, and one of the grad students was bitching because even though the engine is many years old, it still jerks. And he's on a dual core Pentium with an ATI x850 card. The wierd thing is that when we dumped the settings down to minimum, the stutter didn't go away.
  24. uh, toee anyone, ultima 9 anyone, pool of radiance anyone, bloodlines anyone, NWN1 anyone??? i can see now how you manage to label the rest of us fanboys. from your obvious prejudice, anyone else is _obviously_ just a fanboy. if you hate this game so much, STOP PLAYING IT!!! sheesh... taks <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ahahahaha. Ultima 9. Hahahaha. After I received updated CDs, the game was much more playable, too bad it ran like a stuck pig. At least it didn't implode on me. On the plus side, they didn't have to worry about people pirating it. I remember a friend of mine tried pirating it, and he said it was unplayable, and since patching pirated copies is not usually an easy thing. I laughed my ass off :D
