  1. the secret academy isnt a planet but its on the planet malachore V and theres also a better ifinate exp glitch on nar shadaa Actually, I think the secret academy he's speaking of, is Atris' academy on Telos.
  2. Agreed... 256MB RAM just don't cut it. It didn't really cut it a year ago either... Windows uses about 200MB when your computer is booted. That leaves 56MB for other applications that loads...such as MSN, Anti-Virus, Display related shells and so forth. This means the games are left with virtually no physical ram, and have to resort to page-files, which is very slow. Todays computers shouldn't have less than 1GB RAM.
  3. You'd better download the Team Gizka fix for this quest. http://www.team-gizka.org/downloads.html You should meet them a little bit before you get to the military base.
  4. Two lightsabers, one regular and one short lightsaber, seeing as it gives you less of a penalty for two-weapon fighting. I like to outfit the short one for the best possible blaster bolt deflection, that way I'll be more or less immune to blasters, and then I equip the regular one for maximum damage, preferably with a crystal that gives some "unstoppable" damage, that's the best kind Oh, and I like my right handed (regular) lightsaber to be green and the left handed (short) lightsaber to be violet. Nice color combination in my opinion. Very contrasting colors. Green is to blue and yellow what violet is to blue and red... or something :D
  5. You can't expect a person to wear the same robes all the time, they would become very smelly. Naw, they'de definately need more tunics and robes, so they can change into some clean ones while the other set is at the dry-cleaners.
  6. Example??? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> when you "influence" a party member to your point of view your starting to siphon force off of them.... or somthing like that. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Correct me if I'm all wrong, but the way I understand it, the Jedi Masters believe you have not regained your connection to the force, but that you are only drawing the force through other force sensitive beings. Your "connection" to the force first reappeared in the presence of Kreia (a force sensitive) and it becomes stronger every time you gain a new companion. It's not your own force power you are using, but rather the force powers of your companions. That's the impression I got anyway. And it clearly explains why they think you're like a parasite. However, I believe the Jedi Masters are wrong in this assumption. I simply won't accept that the character I've played through the entire game isn't force sensitive on his own Besides, I think there's more to it than what the Jedi Master think, as they have had a habbit of going for the easy explanations.
  7. In all honesty, I didn't "train" any of them. The jedi training in KotOR leaves alot to be desired. You could, obviously, teach most of the organic crewmembers how to recognize the force, and feel the flow of the force through them, but that was it. There was no proper training. You didn't get to instruct them in the ways of the force, you didn't get to do lightsaber sparring and stuff. I wanted to be able to spend time with a student, to actually get to train somebody. But alas, it was just WAY to simple. I do "convert" as many as possible to Jedi though, seeing as Jedi are by far the most efficient class in the game when it comes to clearing a room of baddies as quickly as possible. Well, actually you basically only need 1 Jedi companion to heal and buff you, and you can just force storm or force wave your way through most of the game. I wish a bigger part of the game would require other sollutions than "enter room, kill baddies, loot footlockers and plasteel sylinders, leave room". I mean, that's not really the Jedi way is it? It's fine from a Sith point of view I guess, but it doesn't really feel very fulfilling.
  8. So after all the talk that is found in-game (mainly from Hk-47 and suggestions that when time is right factory will go "down" " ) that makes you wait for resolving whole Hk-50 issue, and never seeing it, has no bearing to overall story? M4-78 was cut because of lack of time too. All games have cut-content, and there would be no reason to restore TSL's, unless there would not have been so many "Huh? What the ****?" moments that are resolved by cut-content. Whole ending, really. However, with purposedly cut stuff includes Atris being party member etc. TSLRP is not restoring those <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That is one of those parts where it was accidentally left in. Bad edits. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Actually, to make the edits better, you would have had to remove the HK-50 driods, because they serve no other real point of the story other than leading you to the HK-Factory. Oh, and then you'd have to remove HK-47 as well, cause he is of no real importance in this game either, other than being a main part of the HK-Factory quest. The ending of the game, give no explanation of anything what so ever. The game takes plenty of time to get through, and as a reward you get a 10 second cut-scene of the Ebon Hawk flying off to wherever. What kind of endnig is that? Even before I knew for a fact that the game had any cut content (although a whole bunch of dialogues and hints throughout the game suggested as much) I felt that the game as a whole didn't make any sense. The story of the game is severely crippled, and I for one see no logic in NOT restoring the missing content. Granted, a 3rd game in the series could have explained all the unresolved issues in TSL, but then a major part of the game would have gone by just to do that. And besides, we don't even know if there will be a 3rd game.
  9. The GeForce 6150 is indeed integrated. It is also a low-cost graphics solution, and not directed at gaming. The "LE" version, is even slower than the regular 6150, and seeing as the 6150 hardly could be said "gameworthy", I somehow doubt it was ever meant to run KotOR2. Too many people focus on a fast CPU only when they buy a computer, but especially when it comes to brand name computers, this is by no means a good indication of the over-all system performance. Thelvinaer, if your old graphics card wasn't integrated, it's a GOOD chance it's MUCH faster than the new one. The 6150 isn't even on par with an old GeForce Ti4200. The 6150LE is prolly around half the performance of the Ti4200. Atleast if the numbers I can find on the net is anything to go by. Sorry man, but your graphics just ain't made for running games much beyond Solitaire.
  10. Actually, electronic components don't decay noticably over time. A computer can last decades, except for the mechanical storage units (HDD, FDD and optical drives). There's no reason why a 5 year old computer shouldn't function just as well as it did when it was brand new. Most HDD's have a lifespan of a few thousand hours, sometimes as much as 10.000 hours. Meaning with an average use of 3 hours a day, it will last you a bit over 9 years. The only reason computers usually last 2... max 3 years, is because by that time, they normally won't run most common applications and games at an acceptable speed. If you however, chose to still use your old applications, it will be just as good as it was when you bought it. I have an old 386 laying about, that's not currently in use, but it's seen many years of use, and still works just fine. It's basically useless, but it works.
  11. Nope. They couldn't do that because after doing sth smart like Gain influence+DS with a LS char wouldn't leave any place for Kreia to put her 2 cents in. Moreover such actions are told to be "Manipulative" and the Exile couldn't have had them because that would bring competition to Kreia. Starting the game with the thought "the Exile is dumb and doesn't know anything about manipulation and the gray side" makes it alot easier to accept the dialog options you are given. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> <_< i say we kick out kreia <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If Atris had more of these voiced lines about being Darth Traya... it would definitely be possible to do that or at least weaken her role <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think this relates well to the whole problem with the dialogue system of Kotor2. The things is, as it is now, it's relatively easy to see which options will lead to either the light or the dark side, and most of the time also quite easy to see which will give you better influence. But i mean, that's totally stupid, cause it's not that black/white in real life. I mean, sometimes what might seem like the right thing at the moment, could cause a chain of events that leads to disaster. Even though your action at the time is well meant, and possibly noble, it doesn't nesessarily mean it should reward you with lightside points, seeing as the outcome is more important than your actions at the moment. I mean, isn't that what being a Jedi is all about? Doing the right thing in the long run... Trying to keep a balance in the universe, even though that might mean letting some people live with their troubles at the moment, so long as it's for the greater good in the long run. In Kotor (both games really) you have to be a cold, cruel, calculating son of a biatch to become darkside, and if you're not, you'll generally become lightside. If you wanna become "grey" you have to show yourself as somekinda multiple personality disorder kinda person and mostly be nice to people, but occationally act like a complete psycho to level out the good stuff. There's really no "neutral" choices in the dialogues. It's either saint or satan really. The game as a whole however, is entertaining, it's got a nice Jedi kinda feel to it, and that's the important things in my book. The story also seems to be much more complex than you might think at first, so that's also things i like about it. Okay, i'll cut it there...before i go on too long :D
  12. Whomever i've Jedified gets to be on my crew, got no spesific preference, but Jedi's generelly clean up a place alot quicker than somebody with blasters, so i try to keep my crew jedi-only. In Kotor1 you had to use HK47 alot, because of the sand people, and you didn't get an excess of jedi, which means you got to hear all his funny and sarcastic lines... In Kotor2 however, he's basically useless, as you normally have atleast 3 jedi on the team before HK47's put back together, so i hardly ever use him... Even though it'd like to use him more... Oh well...
  13. Jedi ARE allowed to have emotions, just not let themselves be guided by them. There's a difference between not having emotions, and not allways doing as your emotions tell you to. "Reach out with your feelings, Luke". Acknowledge your feelings, keep your head cool, consider all the facts and think logical... That's how the Jedi are supposed to be.
  14. Disciple has the massive advantage over Bao-Dur that he actually can wear robes. Other people have mentioned it, and it can't be ignored :D Bao-Dur would have been cool to DS if he could have worn some black robes, but alas, that damn arm of his caused extra work to have made him robes, and so "let's just drop it"... Bah! That made him worthless as a jedi to me... I DO turn everyone i can into jedi though, just cause i can... But still, if i was gonna not teach one, it would be Bao.
  15. I played all the way to Malachor V as dark side a little while ago (couple of weeks ago), and found playing darkside to be pretty lame. There's no REAL darkside/lightside challenges in the game. I mean, who ever heard of people falling to the darkside by just being plain ****. Most people who fall to the dark side do it for all the right reason so to speak. They don't actively try to treat everyone around them like crap. Just look at how Anakin became Darth Vader... He just wanted a way to protect his loved ones... And he pretty much treated everyone with the same respect he allways did, up until the point when he was completely consumed by the dark side. In Kotor there's no difficult moral choices you face... There's no "lure" of the dark side, no choices that might seem so RIGHT at the time, but eventually turns out to lead to the dark side...no... You have to walk around treating everyone like they are ****e, and be a complete and utter **** all the time... As seeing as all the good sarcasm in the game is reserved for HK-47 (and that isn't even half as good as it was in the first game) you can't even throw off any nice comments to anyone... Nope... Playing through the game as Dark Side for other reasons than: 1. Getting more dialogue/storyline. 2. You actually enjoy being an ****. or 3. You actually ARE an ****. Really isn't very worthwhile in my opinion. Now take a look at fallout... It has no "good/evil" paths, but the evil acts you can do are usually acompanied by lots of very funny and sarcastic comments... Atleast that feels worthwhile For Kotor3 i'd like to get rid of the "darkside/lightside meter" and get rid of those "darkside points gained/lightside points gained" thingies... And instead get some DECENT moral choices throughout the game...That leads you in one direction or the other... Sure, there should be ways of seeing wether you are lightside or darkside (by the changes in appearance for one and maybe the color behind your character in the character screen) but the choices you make would have a much bigger impact if they weren't allways so obvious. And it would be much more of a challenge to keep to the straight and narrow if even what seems like the right choice could eventually lead you down the path of the dark side. I'm ofcourse not saying that there's any more of a challenge in playing light side in Kotor2, but atleast you get to save the galaxy and help lots of people... and atleast that's some reward... To me it is atleast.
  16. I simply do not agree that Jolee is a "gray jedi"... He is like most human beings... Generally good. But he has lived long enough, seen enough and gained enough experience to realize that the Jedi Code isn't allways right. But he also knows that following the dark side only leads to corruption. This doesn't make him gray. It only makes him wise. He is a real and proper Jedi, but one that has become a bit "rounded" along the edges. "Gray" would suggest that he is neutral... This is simply not the case. In a more typical "Dungeons & Dragons" alignment he would be Neutral Good perhaps, but gray would suggest something along the lines of "True Neutral" which means you have no preference towards either good or evil. Meaning killing someone just for the sake of doing so wouldn't really be a problem, but it isn't a thing you would encourage either. Jolee wouldn't kill somebody unless it was nessesary in order to defend his own life or the lives of his companions. Jolee Bindo is lightside, but not towards the extreme... The fact that the "lightside/darkside meter" in Kotor shows him in dead center doesn't change the fact that all his actions and opinions throughout the game suggests that he is generally good.
  17. Why are all people so fascinated with evil? I mean, like 90% of the people who play(played) Jedi in Galaxies wanted to be dark side... Seemingly everyone who plays KotOR 1 or 2 are all "Sith rocks!"... I mean... What's so fascinating about being a power hungry egotistical maniac... Aside from the fact that it's all the traits needed to be the president of the USA I don't really see the positive in it... Sure, i've played KotOR as dark side myself...but i always play through as light side first, simply cause that's what feels right... Maybe i'm just dumb... could very well be
  18. I applaud your statements, I couldn't have said it better myself, it good to see another on the path of Light, the Force FX Lightsabers are really cool, I have the blue on, and I am concidering strongly getting the green one. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I have the "Luke Skywalker" ROTJ green one... It's pretty cool... I've always been a fan of green lightsabers. Would like to get the Darth Maul one though... The coolest thing about that one, is that it's actually two sabers, that you screw together to form the double bladed one...meaning you can display it as two normal lightsabers to get some variation... :D
  19. Without having played it on xbox, i can't really say for sure, but i'd have to guess that the game should be pretty similar on both machines, and as such you should be able to get your lightsaber just as quickly (slowly?)...
  20. Yes it works just fine with KotOR2. Just turn every graphic settig to max, and you'll have the best graphics KotOR2 can offer. 8xFSAA and 16xAF is a bit over the top, and doesn't really make the graphics better... But there sure as hell ain't jo jaggedy edges.
  21. I'm a bit tired, and might not have payed enough attention here, but as far as I could see nobody mentioned the music. In my opinion the music in KotOR1 was a bit more...Star Warsy than the music in KotOR2... Maybe not a big issue, but still. But to some that doesn't mean anything I guess. As for those who mentioned the robes... YES! The robed in KotOR1 sucked. I liked Bastila's default outfit though, but I missed having proper Jedi Robes . I remember the first time I played KotOR2 and finally got some Jedi robes... I was so happy to see my character actually looking like a proper Jedi. It added a lot to the feel of the game for me. In general I liked KotOR1 best though, due to the fact that there were better places to visit. Each place had, what felt like, more worthwhile things to do. You left each place with a feeling of having made a difference, and maybe also left a memory of yourself behind, and that made it much more rewarding to me. I like the travelling part, the feeling of seeing strange worlds with many different people. I don't really know why, but many of the places in KotOR2 just felt a bit underpopulated to me. Okay, so Nar Shaada had lots of things to do, and many people, but there were little of actual sights and such. As for stories, I don't really favor one over the other. But I would very much like to see a conclusion. What I'd like in KotOR3 is: Option to wear Jedi outfit without outer robes, or with hood up. A REAL student to teach, where you'd actually have to take some time to give him/her lessons and such. Would be very cool. Then your lessons and teachings would affect how the student would end up... Light side or dark side. Could be cool having to face your own student... And I don't care if it's clich
  22. I suppose the term "gray jedi" is pretty bad, cause most people would see grey as a mix of black and white, or as a color representing "something in between". As far as i can make out, there's no place it says that Jolee is "neutral". Like most people he does what he sees as being right, because that's what would result in the best for our selves. That's no the Jedi way. Jedi do what they see as "rigth" for the greater good, wether or not it's a good thing for the individual Jedi. Jolee isn't likely to sacrifice his own life to save one innocent person. A "normal" Jedi might perfectly well do so, because that's what's expected of him. What makes Jolee "gray" though, is that he doesn't always agree with the Jedi Code. He wants to follow his gut instincts. He wants to be allowed to care about people, or despise them. These are things not encuraged by the Jedi Code. It does NOT however, mean that he is a little bit "evil". It just means he allows himself a bit of freedom to be like most people, that other Jedi don't. It's that simple. I mean, take a look at yourselves... If you had the powers of a Jedi, don't tell me you wouldn't be tempted to exploit it a little bit to your own advantage. Could make you very rich. And sure, you might just make the neigbours new car's tires all explode at once one morning when he's running late for work... You'd love to see the look on his face huh? These are things a Jedi would NOT do... But I don't believe for a second that any of you would be killing off people, even just a single one, just because you're not following the Jedi Code. Come on...you'd be much more likely to do good things... Even if you're not looking to do so. I mean, you happen to come across a person who has injured himself. Wouldn't you heal him? Or wouldn't you if you could stop some drunk **** from beating up other people in the bar? Jolee is gray in terms of not living by the Jedi Code... And actually seeing some sense even in the teachings of the Sith. But in general, he's like most people. Minding his own business, and doing onto others as he would have others do unto him. That's my view of things anyway...
  23. Yoda was afraid Luke would be like his father, and eventually fall to the dark side. Saying that he was too old was the kind of "last stubborn attempt" to reject Obi-Wan's and Luke's request that he teach Luke the force. Not wanting to reveal to Luke that he is related to Vader obvisouly, he couldn't have said it straight out.
  24. "If you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth." - Sherloch Holmes This is simple deduction. You can't argue against the fact that all clues lead to this conclusion. Sure, we don't know all the facts, and if she was on trial, i might say there was reasonable doubt, but i'd still feel pretty sure Kreia is "guilty" (of being Arren Kae).
