  1. You don't need to email anyone anything so you don't need an email address. There should be an option to share a "link" which you can post on a forum (like this one right here) or some such.
  2. He played for an hour and stopped, now he can't play for more than 1 minute as it crashes immediately as soon as he loads a save game. I doubt temperature is an issue here. It's possible your User Account somehow lost permission to the Save Game folder during the upgrade preventing the game from reading data in that folder?
  3. It's harder to make 3D look as good as 2D in the way that various people in this thread would like, because they also want a rotatable/extremely flexible camera which means things will need to be designed to look good from all angles, wasting time and resources and likely reducing the amount of time each side of an object gets to spend with an artist as you're effectively increasing the visual workload by at least 3x. It would also make Lighting harder to get right so it would be more difficult and costly to create a pleasing and detailed aesthetic. If they stick with a fixed camera that can only zoom in/out like they currently do in POE than it wouldn't be too big of an issue to use 3D for everything, however their engine is currently built for and optimized for 2D assets so switching now wouldn't be ideal and the engine changes required would cut in to the budget if it was to be done for the sequel.
  4. Well all I know is that their hard at work on v3.00 which will release at or near the same time as the next DLC which is expected in January. I have not heard any news on a interim patch being made. This bug is one of the reasons I haven't yet spent much time on this game.
  5. http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/83312-known-issue-missing-items-and-companions/ And in the topic you linked to: https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/83027-bug-character-and-items-gone/?do=findComment&comment=1751372
  6. http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-2209561.html Why are you quoting a comment on Fallout 3? New Vegas is nothing like Fallout 3.
  7. ZenBane, his complaint is that most of the "story" is irrelevant to your character and that there is too little content that IS relevant to your character (Not to the same extent as what World of Warcraft does, though).
  8. Oh my, you certainly come off strong. What made you make an account here and post this rant? I mean, it's not like you're giving a single example? You're bashing the game for being incomplete and buggy now, having bought it "very recently", and that's not really valid critique at this point. You're also confusing the two part expansion with two seperate ones. Furhermore the vanilla game is being improved along side the expansion content, so they havent stopped fixing stuff. Anyways, let's hope you find more value for your pennies in the future elsewhere then. Their selling it as 2 products though, aren't they? Otherwise I'd agree it's 2 parts of a single DLC.
  9. Ok, now im convinced youre playing a different game. They dont automatically shuffle behind enemies. They have a stun ability and you have to manually sidestep around your target then backstab them which I loved. And the speed of the rogues backstab animation increases along with attack speed. Backstabs do not take longer to execute than regular attacks. Did you know that you can make a strength based rogue, wear heavy armour and backstab with two handed weapons? And that two handed weapons have their own backstab animation? That play through was so much fun. Tthe last bit youre calling me a GFX whore... not really, I was quite happy with pillars graphics. Do I think Pillars would be improved with more varied animation for some of the special attacks and more diverse death animation besides "gibs". HELL YES. Video games are art. and art is all about the small details. You called yourself a GFX whore when you compared two games and said DAO has cool animations and BG2 has none. I wouldn't be surprised if he meant character animations. Spell animations are fine in BG 1 & 2.
  10. The two types of Fog of War have names (At least according to various RTS games): Fog of War and Shroud. Fog of War is the diminished/grayish stuff covering previously explored areas and Shroud is the black stuff covering previously unexplored areas. Anyways, I wouldn't mind seeing an option to disable Fog of War.
  11. I've been following the technical support forum for a while now and the reports are kinda dissuading me from even bothering to try the game right now. I still haven't really played the game much and it does greatly intrigue me, I just want a as bug free experience as possible for my first playthrough and some of the bugs reported are pretty nasty like abilities not working correctly, abilities being explained incorrectly in tooltips, quests not working right, technical issues. 1) How close are we to seeing a new beta patch for the game? 2) How many changes (at this point in time) are expected approx.? 50? 30? 10? 100? 3) I don't want you to rush to complete a patch as that rarely ever leads to a good end result when it comes to quality assurance. I'm mainly asking now because I've been noticing that the last few patches have been about a month apart from each other.
  12. Christmas isn't that far off, wait a few weeks and it will prolly be on sale on Steam.
  13. You'd be surprised by what an 8-10 years old can find fascinating. I enjoyed RTS games like Red Alert 2, Tiberian Sun, Starcraft, Warcraft 2, etc. mostly for their stories while also having fairly solid gameplay back when I was 8~ and was pretty interested in games like Baldur's Gate (Found the gameplay for it a little to complex for me to properly enjoy it then though), Dungeon Keeper and The Settlers 2. Edit: You might be right, 8 years is pretty young, I'll change it to 10
  14. Based on gaming trends over the last 8~ years, I'd say Hard is what you should play if you're remotely familiar with this kind of game especially because there is a even harder difficulty option available. Normal is for those that are familiar with gaming but haven't played this kind of game before, Easy would be for those that either only want the story or are very young (10~ years old)
  15. So basically the Combat Log isn't clearly informing you that your damage is being completely mitigated by an immunity in some situations. There is apparently mention of immunities in the Bestiary.
  16. The game supports Fullscreen, Fullscreen (borderless) and Windowed display modes. You want to choose the first mode I mentioned.
  17. I'm not even sure why a online shop like GOG would let you buy DLC for a game you don't own. Steam certainly doesn't let you buy DLC for Steam games you don't own and haven't allowed you to do so for many years now.
  18. Hmm, since you have 2 soundcards try them one-by-one by disabling one of them and trying the game, then repeating the process but with the other soundcard disabled. May need to reboot PC to properly disable a soundcard. This will help determine if it's specific to one of the soundcards.
  19. Define which 7000 video card you are using, and your assumptions on where the performance problem lies do seem sound.
  20. Are you sure you're playing the game in Fullscreen mode and not Borderless Windowed mode expanded to fill the screen (Fake Fullscreen)?
  21. I find it odd that if you're in a party of multiple people, items picked up by a guy with full inventory goes to your Stash instead of the next party member with available room in their inventory.
