Bioware sold out
Those are equivalent to the CD-key check when installing a game or playing it for the first time. What we are talking about is if you had to present an identification or submit to a search every fifteen minutes.

Bioware sold out
Don't you mean rent?

Best of luck, be sure to tell us how she is as soon as you know anything.

Bioware sold out
But it's "for our own good."

Bioware sold out
Some of each from what I understand - Bioshock, the prize showcase of the "malware panic" movement, did trigger some rootkit detectors due to the similarly coded SecuROM 7.X variant used for that game.

What you did today
I almost got hit by a very small tornado today, not that it came too close - but it was within twenty miles or so of where I am at the moment.

Bioware sold out
I do not believe they were, as I have played NWN II on an off-line PC for about a month or so without any problems - or at least I think I was off-line.

Bioware sold out
You are correct, by choosing this idiotic data rights management scheme, Bioware, and EA, have lost themselves at least one sale. I mean, I have two PCs that I would have installed it on -my laptop and my main PC- with a third coming up, hopefully, within a year - opps, there goes all my legitimate activations, not that I'm going to buy a copy with the draconian malware intact.

What are you playing now?
I'm trying to install Culpa Innata, according to the tech help FAQ page it could take up to twenty minutes for the installer to launch on Vista - argh. But I guess I cannot be too pissed considering I payed less then twelve dollars for it. Edit: And there is goes, it took less than three minutes to start - lucky me.

What you did today
I would think they would be fairly good, an I have known much older dogs that have survived cancer-removal surgery and treatment.

Bioware sold out
Exactly. I would rather wait and spend my money on something, the Sins of the Solar Empire expansion or, hopefully, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Clear Sky for example, that will not have the headache that is overused, unwarranted copy protection. If the game is available on Steam without the hassle, maybe - but unless I can get a legal copy without the bull**** I'm unlikely to buy, and play, the game. I mean, I find CD/DVD-checks annoying and wish that more companies would put out no-cd patches once their games reach a certain age - too think that I would willingly buy into this god awful, half arsed system when there are other, less annoying, games on the market -that are equally good- is ludicrous. Blasphemy!

Cool NWN2 mods that are, uh... cool and stuff.
I've just downloaded them all, now to play them.

Yeah, they're great when it comes to data rights management.

BREAKING NEWS: CRYSIS DEVS BAIL OUT! CONSOLES ARE THE FUTURE!
I believe it has, although I cannot think of the games off the top of my head. As for your other point, I'll address that later - I'm going to go off-line, or, rather, in-game, for awhile.

BREAKING NEWS: CRYSIS DEVS BAIL OUT! CONSOLES ARE THE FUTURE!
There are several common reasons why players distrust or dislike on-line verification - some of them based on principle, others on logical worries. If a company was to go under without its assets being bought, and maintained, by another, that could cause the authorization severs to be taken off-line - something that would make the game unplayable unless a patch had been released that disabled the protection*. There is also the fact that almost all copy protection is cracked within weeks, if not days, of a release and the continued build-up of anti-pirate mechanisms is only really annoying those people who have legitimate copies of the game. I know that I have not bought copies of games because of this, although I simply did not play the title and did not download illegal copies. *Some companies, like Steam, have said that they would make such patches available in the event that they cease to exist.

The Wiifit is a bully
I would disagree, sometimes people need to know that they are overweight.

What are you playing now?
Back to S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - I think I might try fooling around with some mods, although I'll probably have to tweak them.
-
Zero Punctuation - Yahtzee reviews
Bah, my semi-hate-mail was not featured - although I doubt that it would have been as humorous as the ones he selected.
-
Character love stories
I'll see if I can dig one up - I'm almost positive there was one made awhile ago and uploaded to PCGAMEMODS - hopefully it survived somewhere else. Great show.
-
Install Error
Yeah, that means you have been using mods that do not take advantage of it.

Working outdoors
you should look at the main website as well, for they now have three or four variations - including some that run windows if you know that the applications you need might not be compatible.

If you are having so many problems, then why do you not call the company for technical assistance?
