I just shot like 50 people in GTA 5 and feel a lot more relaxed. I feel like there are people in the world who would benefit from having access to the game.

Oh cool, when a client contacts us about a bug in software, I'll totally tell him something along these lines. "We made the whole software for you that you paid for and you're obsessing over a minority like print button not working? Man, just write the information on a piece of paper, it'S all there on your screen! In fact, you can take a picture of your screen with your camera and print that! Uuu, and there's print screen button!"

Japanese games are weird it that aspect. To my knowledge, grinding is not exactly considered bad design in Japan, in fact a lot of people seem to enjoy it - even so, most jRPGs I have played seemed to be designed in such a way that you can get trough the main content without grinding, but you needed to grind a lot to see all optional content as well. See Nier and Drakengard games in general. So I'd say the grinding complaint has a lot of merit when made by completionists.

Whelp. That's pretty much /thread. All other people attempting screenshots, all we can do now is pack up and go home. Might as well use letters to describe games instead like some sort of literate people. -
I'm a fan of the current implementation, albeit I'd prefer less Vancian-styled casters purely so that people who do not enjoy the system have more choice, and eliminate per rest abilities for all other classes. Making rests more limited than the current soft limit could easily lead to dead man walking situations, which are incredibly frustrating and can ruin playtrough. Oh, and as far as I'm concerned, eliminating cooldowns entirely would be the way to go. What a lazy approach to balance.

Driving the Ford Thunderbird lookalike down the road in GTA V in first person mode, this playing on radio... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2X_2IdybTV0 I feel good about my purchase.

45 minutes of Shadow Warrior 2 gameplay: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m047BSGs4o4 Partly proceduraly generated levels, random loot including randomized weapon stats, there are floating damage indicators and enemies have health bars, guns to debuff opponents, everything kinda Borderlands-esque? I uh... I guess there are other people than me who are excited for it now. I'm kinda disappointed. Well at least I got Doom this year (and to be fair, I was also sceptic about Doom.)

LOOK AT WHAT I BUILT! LOOK AT IT! And I won't stop until the whole map is civilized! I also believe I am hungry.

3000. It's still 50% off on GOG. Linux version's not there tho, apparently some bizarre legal issues. Shame. -

Oh look, this is the first functional town I have built in Sim City! Overview: This is the old town: The oldest part of my city, the upper corner of the map, is constantly hit by disasters. It's basically a bunch of rubble at this point, the moment I try to make it nicer, it explodes or ... Well... Aliens shoot it. And the new town: With a brand new Stadium and a seaport. And a bunch of abandoned buildings. I especially like the residential areas around the highway, I'm sure people love living there. And here's building A of World Trade Center: My wife wanted me to build her a secluded retreat next to the river, so I did that, but then she started nagging that she refuses to look at nuclear power plant and garbage disposal facilities while she's yachting, so I built a couple of parks and a WTC building to obscure them. Then I plonked another nuclear power plant next to it. -
Dear Lord why didn't anyone tell me how addictive these bloody citibuilding sims are!? "Oh sure, I'll play it for an hour or two, that's worth 5 bucks, right?" -6 hours later- "MY LIFE!"

You mean besides reviving Geralt, changing a few key characteristics for Triss (the most apparent one being her refusing to ever show her cleavage), seemingly completely ignoring original portrayal of Aen Elle (Avallac'h, Eredin - these elves), massively exaggerating Ithilinne's Prophecy ... ... CDP is reasonably faithful, but they're not particularly bothered by making significant changes to the lore if it suits them.

All right, I don't know what is it with me and simulation genres, but for some reason, I disliked or at least didn't enjoy majority of 3D ones and love all the 2D, grid-based ones. I loved Transport Tycoon Deluxe back when, still play it now and then, but then I tried Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 and some 3D city management games (including Cities Skylines last year) and disliked all of them. So I thought I sort of grew out of the genre, but I found that I really enjoy rollercoaster tycoon 2 a LOT. And now, 'cause 5 bucks so hey, I bought SimCity 3000, upped it to 1080p and I'm loving it. "I don't mind the story" doesn't exactly sound like high praise either :-P

As far as I'm concerned, class balance is a lot more important than fixing some minor bugs as balanced experience and knowledge that I can freely experiment with the system is what gives longevity to the game in my case. Well they fixed the reported issues with fixes in beta, but didn't introduce any new fixes. I'm pretty sure those are called "release candidates" and not "betas", but... Whatever.
-
Not at all, I can't bind them either. Or use numeric keyboard for that matter. Well actually, 1, 3 and 5 work for whatever reason, 2, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9 don't, 'cause... They've been naughty? Incredibly dumb omission.
-
Just took this shot from Steam version: Perhaps it was another iteration of the game or older version? No matter. You can rebind controls, not for controller tho.

Games you want that'll likely never exist
Fenixp replied to Barothmuk's topic in Computer and Console
Not exactly classical fantasy, but Valkyria Chronicles is also distinctly XCOM-ish and just about everybody should give it a shot since it's excellent. -
Of course you should be thanking developers for fixing a product so that it works as advertised! You also need to use a clicker every time and give them a treat. It's called positive reinforcement. Next time you won't even need to click and give them a treat, you just say "There's a bug, Skippy!" and they'll make a patch!

Major, function-changing bugs in a commercial software product are unacceptable. They have always been. And the fact that an Obsidian employee has given a user his word to look into a broken functionality and then seemingly didn't quite carry trough with it is ****ty, there's just no two ways about it. Additionally, the patch being in beta for a decent period of time and then rolling out with reported bugs is not cool at all. That being said, in its current state, Pillars of Eternity is among the most polished and bug-free open-ended RPGs on market. That's an accomplishment for a company which is widely known for releasing extremely buggy games and cutting their support in slightly less buggy state. As far as I know, there are no more progress blocking bugs, be it some form of broken scripting in quests (hello, Skyrim) or mechanical issues making the game impossible to beat. And the game is by far the best balanced single-player cRPG I have ever played - balance is so good in fact that people complain furiously about potentially overpowered ability. Sure, random major issues will pop up here and there, an issue virtually impossible to resolve in PC market environment, but all in all, in its current state, players have to actively go looking for bugs in order to find them (even the confident aim bug won't be noticed by majority playing the game.) That's nearly as good as you can get in a non-subscription based software.
-
True, but they also had a tendency to eventually release source code to their games, which I suppose won't happen now, because... You know, Denuvo. The same reason as to why doesn't the game run on Wine even tho it should work perfectly.

Doom gets updated to run trough Vulcan, yet... No Linux/Mac version in work apparently? Oh well.
