Barbarian - 2h or 2wep
So I tried changing the armour penalty to 15% and chugging a DAOM potion. This brings the 2h recovery down to 0.6. Somehow the sabres' recovery goes to -25.7 frames, leading their DPS to go through the roof. Clearly there's a mistake in the spreadsheet somewhere. Lord I hope POE2's UI has a DPS indicator.

Barbarian - 2h or 2wep
I've been using the DPS calculator spreadsheet to compare Rumbalt to Resolution/Purgatory for an 11 Might/21 Dex Rogue (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1NKM6bX43pRHA8sGVJL_sTYMczYN3thKt-A-G_RrT37k/edit?usp=sharing). The Rogue is only relevant to these calcs for the Dirty/Vicious Fghting Hit to Crit. Assuming all else is equal, the dual-Sabre combo out-DPSes Rumbault against any DR. This was somewhat surprising to me (although I don't have a great grasp of the PoE maths) as I was under the impression that for an an average Might , high Dex build, the greatsword would outperform the sabres due to the higher base damage. This of course doesn't take into account the extremely useful Overbearing property of Rumbalt that will knock enemies prone. For a high perception Rogue, that's like getting a near-guaranteed critical sneak attack. But what's really striking is that if you chug a potion of DOAM, the dual sabre DPS moves way ahead of Rumbalt with the potion. It appears that the Annihiliation property of those two Sabres makes them more powerful than Rumbalt.

WIZARDS - feedback at first sight
This enforced grimoire switching sounds like a pain in the arse, something that's going to be really fiddly and essentially crowbar inventory management into combat. Limiting the wizard to two spells per spell level is enough of a restriction, maybe even a bit excessive. What is the point of this further grimoire limitation? What problem are Obsidian trying to solve?

Injury System is way too brutal
Auto-regen does not eliminate the need for a healing class. You still need one to heal during combat.
-
Injury System is way too brutal
My two cents - go the Dragon Age route and scrap resting altogether, with auto-regen of health after combat ends. The advantage is that the devs can balance each encounter around a fully-resourced party, which has to be easier than estimating what sort of shape the party will be in and designing fights appropriately. The penalty for getting knocked out is that you're a man/woman down during a tough fight, which is a far bigger incentive to keep them alive than injuries.

Did a Steam verify integrity check and it re-downloaded some files. Working fine now.

[3.02] Guardian Stance aura only has effect on activation?
Not sure if this is a bug or the way it's meant to work, I think it's a bug as it seems weird and inconsistent with how Paladin auras work. Guardian Stance only seems to take effect when activated, ie when I activate Guardian Stance, it boosts the deflection of anyone within the aura. However, it remains in effect on a party member even if I move him away from the aura. If I activate it when a character is not within range of the aura, moving the character within range has no effect. This doesn't seem right as it means that all I have to do is cluster my party around the Fighter and activate the ability, and then they all have permanent +10 Deflection even if they're far outside the range of the aura. Pretty convenient when using Eder considering that the range is only 2m.

[3.02 BETA] Disappearing items
Cilant Lis, so very early.

[3.02 BETA] Disappearing items
This bug is still present. My main hand weapon just disappeared. It seems to be occurring in the same circumstances as previously discovered - quicksaving while the game is autosaving. It would be good if we had an option like in IE Mod to change the autosave so the game saves when you exit an area.

Main Story, an atheist cliche?
It's an utterly absurd contradiction to admit that you're making a leap of faith to believe in "god" but then accuse atheists of being intellectually lazy. There's no greater sign of mental laziness than saying "it's true because I think it's true!"

Main Story, an atheist cliche?
If the gods of Eora were definitively real and divine, would the game be advocating religious propaganda? Or can only an "atheist" bias exist?

Question about patch 3.0 Act III high-level content scaling
Just finished upscaled Act 4 on Hard at level 14. It was far too easy and anticlimactic, would have been a joke if I was level 16. Shades died in seconds and the drakes were no threat. Thaos could have been tricky if he had more allies but he wasn't too much of a problem. The entire Act needs to be upscaled more and the final battle would benefit from being reworked to be more like the dragon encounters. Don't expect any of this to happen at this late stage in PoE's existence though. As I understand, the upscaling increases the level of enemies by 33%. Don't suppose there's a way to increase that percentage through hex-editing or something?

[3.01] Dragon's Maw description bug
After binding Dragon's Maw to Maneha, the description shows the image and text for the last soulbound weapon I examined, in this case Abydon's Hammer. Not clear how to level it up.
-
How much XP did you end the game with?
30% (maybe even a little lower) sounds like it could be better. It would be nice to enjoy being at level 16 for a while instead of hitting the cap moments before the game ends.
-
Too fast leveling ?
Just realised - I hit level 14 before WM2 was released and did a bunch of quests. So now that i have implemented the 33% increase and re-levelled, I'm effectively missing a lot of XP.
-
Too fast leveling ?
I'm using 33% XP increase and have completed most of Act 3 (just got Council of Stars and Court of the Penitent to go) and have got to the Abbey in WM2. I've completed nearly all sidequests in the game so far except for Sagani or the Devil's quests. After re-leveling my characters I am now level 13 with 109096 XP. A bit hard to see how I'm going to hit level 16 by the end. Also note that playing on Hard with high-level scaling, the Abbey is quite difficult. Those Ondra guys move like roided up homicidal maniacs towards Aloth and have very good defences relative to my party members' accuracy. Might drop to 30% or even lower to make things a bit more bearable.
-
Too fast leveling ?
Great, thanks very much for that.

Too fast leveling ?
At the risk of sounding like a complete idiot, could some kind individual please clarify how the XP percentage multipler -> hexidecimal value works? I've experimented with Hex converters but can't understand how the conversion works either way round.

Multiclassing ideas
DKD, you're overlooking the diversity PoE allows for with individual class builds. They've done an impressive job in designing a system that permits multiple viable ways to build any particular class. Just look at some of the builds in the character builds sub-forum or elsewhere on the net. Oh and 3.0 builds like 19 Sorc/1 Paladin or 16 Cleric/4 Fighter were hardly difficult to figure out.

Balancing games - Can it be too much?
It would of course have been better if PoE was released without requiring any balance changes but that was never going to happen. Obsidian has developed a new, complex rule system so it's inevitable that there would be flaws that would only become apparent after lots of people had played the game and provided their feedback. Beta testing among a relatively small pool of players is never going to be enough for a game this complex unless the testing period is greatly extended. But that may not be viable because at some point Obsidian need to make some money and release the game, in part so they can finance further tweaking and balancing. What we can hope is that PoE2 will be released in a more polished state as a result of everything Obsidian have learned and the money they've made.

Multiclassing ideas
Multiclassing in 3.0 and 3.5 was just broken. What does overly balanced even mean? Playing build that can slaughter its way through a game is fun for 5 minutes but then gets very boring.

White March Part 2 Reviews
I think that Escapist reviewer must be deliberately playing the game wrong. This reminds me of people complaining about Dragon Age: Origins being too difficult initally; a lot of those people simply weren't used to party-based, pause and play combat and were trying to play the game as if it was an MMO or Diablo. It's totally understandable that someone with no cRPG experience would struggle with PoE at first but by the time you get to WM2, you really should have grasped the nature of the combat well enough to handle Normal difficulty encounters without too much trouble. But if you insist on playing the game like an aRPG or Dragon Age: Inquisition, you probably will struggle.
